Luxury Ring of Kerry Holiday Cottage

Our recently renovated Irish farmhouse exudes a feeling of space and easy living. Thoughtful touches and soft muted tones mixed with the natural elements of wood, slate and stone and contemporary touches of glass and chrome combine with modern conveniences to create a relaxing and comfortable home-from-home.

The Bedrooms

There are three beautiful en-suite bedrooms that will accommodate 6 people in luxury. We can also sleep two additional guests on comfortable fold away z-beds as well as provide a cot for any of our littler guests.

The two ground floor bedrooms both have zip link beds that can turn from super-king size beds to twin beds. This flexibility means that whether you are a family or a group of friends the accommodation can be arranged to suit your needs. Please contact us to discuss your specific requirements.

The bedrooms all have fantastic views and are beautifully appointed with comfy beds and soft cotton bedding. The en-suites all have baths and powerful showers, fluffy bathrobes and are stocked with luxury toiletries.

The entire ground floor of the house is gently warmed by underfloor heating.

The Living Spaces

The open plan contemporary living spaces provide a feeling of space. The large kitchen/dining room is very well equipped with a range cooker with double oven, grill and wok burner, a microwave, large toaster and an American fridge/freezer with an iced water dispenser. The utility room has a washing machine, separate tumble dryer and drying facilities. The living room is spacious and light with high vaulted ceilings, wood burning stove and large sliding doors that look out across the valley below. For your entertainment we provide Sky TV, a DVD player, a radio with iPod dock and unlimited WiFi. There is also a separate study.

Outside, there is also a large barn perfect for washing, drying and storing your bikes, kayaks and surf boards.

The cottage is extremely peaceful and designed for easy living so whether you decide to stay nearby or head out and explore all that the Ring of Kerry has to offer... you will have a comfortable home from home to return to.

Valley of the Hare

This house is really lovely - fabulous views across the mountains and out to sea in the distance. Beautiful house in a very remote location, gorgeous starry skies at night - The house was spotless, the kitchen was really well equipped and everything felt brand new - even our teenagers loved this house and we would defo want to return. It is really quite isolated and is about 15mins drive from Sneem. Cormac (Dublin)

June in Sneem

The property is superb and situated in a brilliantly remote location. It is very comfortable, furnished to a high standard and equipped with everything you might need for when the weather closes in. Communications with the owner and housekeeper were straightforward and we were made to feel welcome. The farmhouse conversion must rank among the nicest places to spend a relaxing few days.

Fantastic property in a beautiful location

One of the best properties we have ever rented! The house itself is absolutely gorgeous and set in a spectacular location. Very clean, comfortable and the host has left all those extra touches like breakfast, condiments and toiletries which really sets this rental apart from the rest. We were all very sad to leave and hope to be back soon!

Just perfect

Valley of the Hare really is a cut above other holiday rentals. The house is beautifully and sensitively restored, nestling into the landscape perfectly. The views, in particular from the living room and the upstairs bedroom, are spectacular. Everything you need is stocked, pantry items and a full range of herbs and spices, a welcome pack to allow for breakfast the next morning, more than enough table ware, utensils etc, toiletries in the bathrooms and gorgeous linens and towels, nicer than many hotels! It’s a house you want to spend time in, rather than just a base to explore the surrounding area. Even our dog didn’t want to leave! The house is just over 10 minutes from Sneem and the peacefulness of the surrounding landscape adds to the sense of escape. We will most definitely be back, I can only imagine how cosy the house would be in winter time!

Outstanding luxury in a unique setting

We have just returned from 5 days in the Valley of the Hare and it was simply perfection - warm and comfortable with beautiful linens and a fantastic kitchen with every facility imaginable. The surroundings are even better - a little remote but all the better for that - spectacularly unique and wonderful walking on the doorstep. The owners have done a magnificent job of restoring this farmhouse and we hope to return soon.

Why they chose this property

We had enjoyed many holidays and short breaks to the region so in 2006 we started to look for a permanent base along our favourite stretch of the Ring of Kerry.

Despite being a little run down (see renovation photos on our web site) Valley of the Hare instantly captivated our imagination as the location and views are 'to die for' and the buildings are full of history and character.

The cottage is the result of a great deal of careful thought and hard work.

We love it...and are very happy to share it with you.

What makes this property unique

The views out across the valley with Kenmare Bay and the Beara Peninsula in the distance are timeless. Watching the skies change from the warmth of the sofa by the fire in the living room is hypnotic and truly relaxing.

With fantastic walking on your doorstep and the lovely pubs in Sneem serving great food there is little more you need for a well deserved break away.
