Luxury Rustic Style House With 2 Bedrooms And 2 Bathrooms

Converted mill with private pool. Beautifully furnished and fully equipped. Private walled garden. Located in the hamlet of La Molineta near the white village of Frigiliana. A spacious and luxurious house decorated with hand made tiles and original artwork.

The house is on two floors. On the ground floor is a lovely rustic kitchen with breakfast bar, a twin bedroom and bathroom. Leading from the kitchen is the lounge with wood burning stove, views to the sea and wooden floor. Joined to the lounge through an arch is the dining room with French doors opening to the dining terrace with built in BBQ and the sun terrace with private pool (6m.x4m.)

About the Owner

Stephen Todd is an architect who retired in 1997 and accidentally started to adopt abandoned dogs and cats, currently seven of each.

Jackie Todd wrote about moving to Spain and adopting the animals. Her book 'Dog Days in Andalucia' is available from Amazon. Sadly Jackie died in 2010.

Stephen has since been extraordinarily lucky and married Patricia. He speaks Spanish and lives close by his rental properties providing on site help when needed.

Even better than expected

We booked a few days at this lovely house and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Patricia & Stephen made us very welcome and we joined them for a drink in the local bar. The informal and easy process of booking added to the delight of Casa Rosa. We are very happy to recommend it on condition it's available for our return visit!

Enchanting house in a beautiful location

Casa Rosa is a lovely house with magnificent views of the mountains from every window. During our 3 week stay it was cleaned twice a week to a high standard. The location is perfect. We walked into the white washed village of Frigiliana which is beautiful and Casa Rosa is just a few minutes drive to Nerja where there are many shops and restaurants and stunning beaches. Stephen the owner was very easy to book with and was always available if we needed him. He is a laid back no pressure kind of guy. He told us living in Spain has made him like that and we quite believe him! A wonderful holiday which one day we hope to repeat.

Beautiful spring

We enjoyed a wonderful 10 days in this beautiful house with a fantastic terrace. The bakery is rebuild in a nice atmosphere. A big living room, beautiful bedroom upstairs and big, nice badrooms. The house is very clean (an extra cleaning during the week) and comfortable. The owners live nearby and are very easy going and hospitable. The nearby village Frigliana (walking distance) is one of the most wonderful white villages in Andalusia. We enjoyed the nice hikes in the river with our dog and beautiful, sceneric terraces in Frigiliana. The coast village Nerja is a 10 minutes drive and one of the nicest coast villages in Andalusia.

Fantastic place to stay

What a great place to explore the Spanish coast.

The lovely house is exactly as described, very clean, neat and tidy, with all the amenities you could need. And the added extra of being within 50 meters of a little local bar, where Spanish locals and expats mix. It was so good we returned for an extra 2 weeks during our 3 months in the Costa Del Sol.

The hosts are more than welcoming, and went out of their way at welcome us and make sure our holiday was perfect. There is an information book for guests describing things to do and see, and very helpful restaurant information.

I would recommend this lovely place to anyone, couples or families and hope to return there again next year.

You only have to walk in to La Casa Rosa to be transported to a world of Arabian nights. This stunning house was part of a group of flour and olive mills driven by water brought from the mountains in channels built by the Moors. It has been sensitively converted to maintain the character and beautifully decorated with handmade tiles and original ceramics and paintings.

Andalucia is the largest autonomous region of Spain with a fascinating history and rich cultural heritage. The people are laid back and welcoming, the countryside is magnificent and the climate is mild in winter and hot in summer.

Granada and the Alhambra Palace are not to be missed but the Old Town and harbour side in nearby Malaga are well worth a visit. Here you will find the Picasso Museum.

There is winter skiing in the nearby Sierra Nevada, water sports all along the coast and golf on championship courses.

Set on the edge of a National Park, Frigiliana has been awarded prizes for the most beautiful village in Spain. Cobbled streets with flower filled balconies and intimate shady courtyards transport the visitor back to the scented Arabian nights of the Moorish conquerors. There are fine restaurants and rustic bars with great local dishes and wines.

Each town and village has it´s own Saint´s day and colourful noisy fiestas. San Antonio on the 13th June in Frigiliana and San Isidro on the 15th May in Nerja.
