Harbourside Cottage is a fully restored, 3 bedroom, self-catering property, ideally located in the heart of the Whitstable's Conservation Area. It is full of original features including decorative victorian fireplace in the lounge and in each bedroom. It's only 5 minutes walk to the beach, harbour and high-street with it's boutique-style shopping and lively restaurants and pubs.

The cottage is immaculately presented and finished to the owners high standards. It combines to provide extreme comfort and a real 'home-from-home' living experience. Locally themed artworks are on display around the house. The combined kitchen and dining area, at the rear of the property, is our favourite as the main living area and has the benefit of good natural light all day and access directly onto the garden.

As well as enjoying the local beach and outside space, you can enjoy our beautiful and secluded 'beach-style' garden. It is complete with patio (outdoor furniture provided) and BBQ, where you can enjoy the sunshine from breakfast until late afternoon, when you come off the beach.

There is a light, spacious family-sized bathroom complete with toilet, bath and powerful shower, 3 beautiful double bedrooms all with comfy beds and furnished in a contemporary style.

Outstanding!

I had the most delightful stay. The house is beautiful, clean, comfortable, and in the perfect location. It is bright and airy, very well appointed, and welcoming. I found the neighbourhood to be quiet, and I very much enjoyed the back garden. It's a perfect getaway, and conveniently located. I could walk to everything--the beach, shops, and restaurants. The kitchen was great for cooking all the fruits of the sea, fresh from the harbour market! Peter was always most helpful and friendly. I would recommend the property in a heartbeat, and hope to return soon! It was my first visit to the area--now the cottage and Whitstable are very dear to me!

Great cottage, great location

We had a great break in this lovely cottage. The cottage had everything we needed and we felt very at home the minute we stepped in the door. Brilliant location with the town and beach only a quick 5 minute walk away at most. Whitstable has loads of great shops and restaurants. Check out the Salt Marsh at the Duke of Cumberland for an amazing dinner and No. 15 for a delicious lunch. Everyone so friendly. We will definitely be back

Lovely cottage in a fantastic location

Myself and two friends enjoyed a lovely stay at this cottage. It was clean, warm and comfortable, we each had our own room. It is extremely well situated with the shops and many restaurants being a stone's throw away. The road is quiet and whilst I could have parked my car just outside, the road is quite narrow, so I parked it just round the corner on a wider road. Parking is not an issue. The wifi works well and all the appliances are in good condition.

Lovely cottage in equally lovely seaside town.

My two sisters and I spent a winter weekend in this pretty cottage. It was exactly what we were looking for as it is cozy, really nicely presented, equipped with everything we could want, and just a short stroll to the town where we ate good food, shopped, and strolled along the promenade. We would definitely recommend it and hope to revisit the cottage and Whitstable in the not too distant future.

Cosy, comfortable house in great location.

We had a great Christmas spent at this clean, comfortable house.

The house is ideally located just a few minutes from the town centre and seafront.

Whitstable has some great pubs, coffee shops and restaurants plus many other interesting shops.

Also has a very good bus service so easy to get to places like Canterbury without having to use car.

Whitstable was a lovely place to visit.

The house was clean, comfortable and well presented. The kitchen would benefit from curtains or blinds as the next door neighbour and houses at the back have some visibility into the Property.

The website says there is a fireplace in the property (in the facilitators section) but don't expect a cosy log fire as it doesn't function! The main blurb says decorative fireplaces which I presumed meant they looked nice.

I was disppointed that the owner deducted £16 from the deposit as two towels were stained when we washed them in the washing machine. I don't know how or why but I don't believe it was something we did. Just put a bit of a dampner on the experience!

Owner's Response: Thank you for your comments which we have duly noted. We have been letting our property for nearly 5 years and always appreciate comments from our guests, as we strive to maintain our very high standards. I will consider your note about the blinds at the rear kitchen window, however, we use the property regularly ourselves and don't feel there is a privacy issue here that concerns us. We charged a small fee to replace two bath towels as they were covered in hair dye or something similar, and could not be used again. We were disappointed that you did not accept responsibility, rather choosing to blame a faulty washing machine which was checked and found to be in good order.

Location

I chose this property as it has great charm and is full of Victorian features. It had obvious potential as a development project and holiday home, and is very well located for all of Whitstable's attractions. The harbour and beaches are just round the corner!

We are located minutes from the beach and town centre. You will find opportunities to try out water sports with local operators including kite surfing, windsurfing, sea kayaking and fishing. There is even a water-ski club where you can soak up the atmosphere. They have great spot behind the beach where you can have a drink and some lunch, whilst enjoying the amazing sea views from the balcony.

There is also a cycle hire centre at the end of our road so you can enjoy the varied cycle routes along the coastal path or cycle inland towards Canterbury, taking you through beautiful woodland scenery.

Whitstable prides itself on the varied boutique-style shopping and there are many outlets up and down the high street. Harbourside Street is especially quaint with it's famous fish & chip shop and restaurants including my favourite, the Saltmarsh restaurant in the Cumberland Hotel.
