3 Bedroom, 2 Bathroom With Mountain Views, Sleeps Up To 6 plus 2 small children

Haute-Nendaz offers excellent access to the fantastic Verbier / 4 valleys ski system. The apartment is new (2012) and spacious (120m2) with 3 large bedrooms, one en suite, comfortably sleeping 2+2+2. Additionally, 2 spare folding beds are available for smaller children. Finished to a high standard, the apartment has a large living room with panorama windows looking out over the extensive balcony terrace to the Sion valley, a well equipped kitchen including your personal washing machine and tumble dryer and 2 bathrooms. The building has a lift, and provides your own personal ski/storage locker, one dedicated indoor and a separate outdoor car parking, and the complex includes a magnificent private sauna, hammam, UV area and squash court.

Within Nendaz the apartment is centrally located within walking distance of all amenities including the main ski lift and hire shops, the ice rink, tennis courts, interesting shops, good bars and restaurants, and buses to Siviez and to historic Sion (150-300m).

Getting to Nendaz: Most prefer Geneva and Turin airports for their wealth of reasonable flights and ease of onward travel to Nendaz by car (~150km / 2.5 hours drive), but Zurich, Milan and Basel are all doable (4 hours drive) and there are infrequent expensive flights to Sion airport itself.

A car is not necessary within the resort, so an alternative approach is to take a train (like clockwork) from Geneva airport to Sion and a bus (45 min) or taxi (30 min) up the winding road to the resort.

Skiing: Nendaz is in the middle of the extensive 4 Valleys/Verbier ski area. Ascending to 3300m, the area has an excellent snow record and the 412km of pistes offers skiing for all levels.

Nendaz has the “Families Welcome” accreditation. The local slopes (Tracouet) offer comfortable ‘safe’ skiing in a very attractive environment with a fine restaurant. There is a local ski pass available and a range of reductions for children and families. For intermediates there are a few red runs which, being North facing, keep the snow well. For experts there is wonderful not crowded black and off-piste skiing under the Plan du Fou.

Importantly, there is excellent access to Siviez/Tortin by ski, bus, or car (fastest at ~20mins), which is probably at the heart of the best skiing in the area. One can take lifts to Mont Fort or Verbier or head East towards Veysonez and Les Collins, affording a fantastic choice of terrain, aspect and snow conditions.

With a car its also practical to ski days in nearby resorts.

In the region and Summer action: Summer in the Alps offers fantastic walking. There are many routes demanding varying ambition and fitness, including numerous more gentle walks along the bliss created to distribute water to the orchards and vineyards. One can even take a lift up and walk down! There is a considerable network of routes suitable for mountain biking- one can hire bikes at Neige Adventure.

Nendaz has facilities for many other summer sports including tennis, volley ball and outdoor swimming, and runs mini-courses for children in climbing, archery and horse riding (at least in 2009) as well as organising walks and visits to local attractions and festivals such as that to the Alpine Horn Festival in July.

Sion is well worth a day out for the walk to the castle, the cafes spilling onto the the traffic-restricted streets and a cycle ride along the River Rhone (rafting available too). Most summers the galleries and museums have special exhibitions and recitals- details from Sion Tourist Information.

Very spacious and comfortable for a family or for 2 couples/friends. Apartment fully under floor heating with beautiful views of Rhone valley. Full wireless broadband throughout the apartment. The complex has its own Sauna, Hammam and squash court. Note, the 4 ring stove is an induction type electric stove.

Best Ski apartment around

I went with my family and two adult friends. the apartment was ideal, spacious light and well equipped. Heating and hot water was excellent. Very convenient location short walk to the funicular and ski shop which had lockers so no walking with skis and boots after a days skiing. Well located for the excellent supermarket and a microbrewery and wine bar.

We couldnt find fault with our stay in this apartment having skied in many other locations. Thoroughly to be recomended

We loved it. This very spacious modern apartment is equipped with everything you could need including very comfortable beds and bed linen. Great position and the Spa Area in the apartment was lovely. We really enjoyed our holidays there.

The apartment was spacious, warm, modern and clean , yet it had a homely feel to it. The owner was very friendly & helpful whilst the caretaker was available to answer all our inquiries.

The area was very quiet even though the apartment was a short distance to the shops and the cable car. Considering that we booked for February half term the runs were not overly crowded.

The children made the most of the Tracouet beginners' park, it was their first skiing experience and the facilities there allowed them to make steady progress - we thought that the staff operating the ski lifts were friendly and funny.

All in all, a lovely resort and a great apartment, we are hoping to go back at some stage!

We travelled as a family of 6 over the New Year holiday, our party consisted of two boys 10 and 12 , daughter 19 and my mother who is 70!

The apartment is beautiful and has stunning views from the front over the Swiss mountains. It is very well equipped as we cooked meals most evenings. The rooms are lovely and warm with plenty of space to allow for privacy. The main bedroom has its own en suite with a big walk in rainforest shower with a separate toilet. The main bathroom is just across from the other two bedrooms where you'll find a washer/dyer. Ski and boot locker is located in garage and is easy accessible and secure. We was lucky enough to have snow just before we arrived and there is a great sledging area for kids. This is situated to the right of the apartment, from which you can observe children from the apartment at all times.

The apartment is located 1hr 45 from Geneva airport by car and about a 5 minute walk from Nendaz Centre where you can find supermarkets, an array of shops and restaurants. There is also a ski hire shop adjacent to the 4 Vallees Hotel - price wise expect to pay £550 for four people for six days hire. However, there are other hire shops in town so shop around. The cable car which leads to Tracouet but also to a meeting point for the free bus to Siviez is a 5 min walk from the apartment. The Bus can get very busy in peak weeks. The Ski runs at Siviez are better for beginners in my opinion. There is snow tubing for the younger ones and great Nursery slope with Magic carpet, also lots of younger children sledging. There is also a cafe at the top of Nursery slope but also many area's to sit and have a picnic for cheaper option if preferred. I would recommend trying blue run at Siviez before attempting the blue run from Tracouet as I found out the hard way!!

The town of Nendaz is beautiful with plenty of restaurants and Cafes. I can personally recommend 'La Cantina' which is a Tex-Mex and also 'La Cabane' which is international. Family of four dinning expect to pay around CHF150 with a few drinks and a bottle of wine. Most restaurants you will need to make a reservation in peak weeks as get very busy and most are fairly small. The 4 Vallees Hotel has a beautiful spa that is open to the public for CHF45 per person.

The owner of the apartment kept in contact throughout our stay and was very professional and trustworthy. I cannot recommend the apartment highly enough and hope to return in the future.

Family ski holiday in Nendaz (Apt 15)

We stayed in Nendaz for the first time for a half term ski holiday, we have 3 children (girl 14 and two boys 12 and 11) and are just ok skiers.

The apartment is great, very modern without being complicated (the hob took a while to work out until I found that it does not get hot without a pan being on top). The finish is top quality and there was plenty of entertainment for the kids. The rooms are decent size and had plenty of room, there is no external noise and the garage is easy to get to. The apt is about 5 minutes from the town centre and the elevator to the ski station, there is a bus that is quite regular and free. There is plenty of skiing but it is sometime best to take the free bus to or from Sievez, great bumpy bits if that is your thing, all in all a great holiday and we will go back.

Great apartment with sauna and squash

We came to Nendaz for a sking holiday with 5 friends. When we arrived at the apartment we ware amazed. It was very spacious and light with everything we would even want for our stay.

The living area with open kitchen and large diner table gives an absolute fabulous view on the mountains.

The three bedrooms has very comfortable beds and enough space for all our luggage.

And in the reserved indoor parking space is a locker for our skis, boots and more.

And then there is a very nice, 24 hours a day available, sauna and Turkish bath.

Having an option like this at home is very relaxing after a day of heavy sking.

The apartment is on walking distance of the centre of Nendaz and the lift to the Small skiing area.

We choose to start each day in Siviez, it takes a 15min. drive but then you start in the hart of the 4 Vallees with direct access to the mont-Fort and Verbier.

The area is very large with all sorts of slopes and more than enough possiblity's to ski off-piste without take too much risk.

We enjoyed it tremendously and Wil be back.

However we might wait until the CHF is back to "normal" Due to the suddenly changed exchange rate our Holliday became a lot more expensive. The ski pass is ludicrous expensive.

Being back in Holland again we are looking back on a great vacation with a top apartment, beautiful skiing area and a very good personal contact with the owner, and his caretaker, of the apartment.

We'll be back!

Haute Nendaz lies in the centre of Valais region of Switzerland 20-30 minutes drive up an unchallenging road from the historic town of Sion. It is part of the 4 valley mountain range and it is possible to ski into Verbier. It generally takes 1.5 hours from Geneva airport by car (motorway to Sion then 30 mins. up the mountain), and only a little longer by train to Sion then Post Bus or Taxi. There is also a limited range of direct flights to Sion operated by Swiss International Air Lines.
