If the quality, location and style of Casa Las Palomas is not enough to inspire you to discover this amazing area of Spain and stay in luxury surroundings then maybe the following information will help.

Sitting in a hamlet with amazing views of valley and mountains, this Villa has been designed to appeal to an elder customer that requires a downstairs bedroom with en-suite but also caters for the guest that wants to take full advantage of the stunning views from the upstairs windows, especially the large picturesque ones in the gorgeous master bedroom.

The cleverness of design by including large windows that can lead to a warm house has been balanced by air conditioning added throughout the bedrooms and living areas.

The spacious open plan style of the well equipped kitchen and living space helps bring the lovely mature gardens up to the rear entrance and allows who ever is on cooking duty to still enjoy the ambience of the villa and garden while hopefully cooking something tasty and Spanish for the family.

The dolphin motif 8x4 Metre, Roman Stepped Pool is located just outside the rear patio doors and sits wonderfully in a mature and character filled garden and terrace area and has the wonderful bonus of breath taking views.

The large and well planned BBQ will most likely take you away from the kitchen and who ever is the Master Alfresco Chef that night will have company near him as the pre dinner drinks are taken either under the plant filled shaded area or the numerous other seated areas outside.

All the 3 beautifully decorated bedrooms have en-suites and the 2 bedrooms upstairs have the added attraction of a spacious outside terrace with the added attraction of looking out at the pool and gardens or down the valley and across to the stunning mountain range which splits the provinces of Malaga and Granada.

The living area can seat 6 if watching the flat screen TV, which has an attraction in the lower season months.

The Villa is located just off a tarmac road, 2 minutes from the main road to Comares and the gated entrance leads through to a gentle slope and comfortable parking and turning, easy for unloading your supplies of Spanish meat, cheeses and wine etc.

The house does not lend itself to families with toddlers and small children as the garden is mature and includes Cacti, the pool is a few steps from the rear door and could lead to very stressed parents.

From the moment you pull into Casa Las Palomas, everything feels right from the ease of parking to the pool and all in between.

About David and Jacqui Cullimore

Roy and Kath, fulfilled their long held ambition to retire in a lovely area of Spain and turn a building plan into a lovely home which eventually would become a high quality and prestige seasonal rental once they had established gardens and put a style on the house which puts it above most other rentals in the area but still at a good value price.

David and Jacqui look after the bookings and customers so that Roy and Kath can now fulfil phase 2 of their retirement plans tour around the world and especially Europe.

This leads to intense jealousy on the the part of David and Jacqui but we will happily make a guests welcome and be on call if needed.

Please note it does mention that David and Jacqui Cullimore own the property,although we would love to, this is not the case and we just handle all the enquiries and bookings for Roy and Kath, at this stage the homeaway website does not allow us to change this information, hence the additional paragraph.

The creation of the style of the garden which jigsaws cleverly with the interior is something which I believe gives this Villa a unique feel.

This was our second visit to comares and the vine ridge properties..

The villa,the views,the location were superb.Easy safe access off the main road made daytrips a pleasure.Malaga,nerja,antequera-all highly recommended.Barbequed sardines on the beach at torres de mar were something else..Although only april we managed to swim in the pool most days-water temperature 24C..Sitting on the patio and watching the comings and goings in the valley occupied a lot of spare time.The villa offers all conveniences and peace and quiet such that stocked up with food and wine there is no real need to leave the site.

we stayed for a month and could have done another one-no shortage of things to do.

Highly recommended.We will be back.

Stunning - a peaceful and very private villa

As you arrive at Casa Las Palomas the views across the valley are just stunning. The photos don't do it justice! The villa itself is beautifully appointed (obviously a home rather than just a holiday house) and having an ensuite to each bedroom with full aircon is total luxury. All fittings are top quality. The swimming pool was also one of the cleanest we've ever had (David and Jacqui look after the villa very well).

We especially appreciated the shaded area outside with permanent canopy accomodating a dining table and 4 chairs along with 3 seater sofa. There were other seating options in the sun, plus a table and 4 chairs for dining in the conservatory style extension, but we chose the shaded canopy due to the extremely hot weather during our stay.

Whilst you can easily visit Comares, Riogordo, Lake Vinuela etc (which we did do), plus access the El Ingenio shopping centre at Jct 272 of the motorway for full supermarket shopping within 1/2 hour, we chose to spend most of our time just enjoying the setting at the villa.

A particular highlight was lying on the sunbeds watching the sun go down in the evenings over the valley with the rolling hills beyond enjoying a glass or two of wine - suberb!

We hope Roy and Cath (the owners) will continue to rent out their villa in the summer and let others enjoy their lovely home.

Star of the Show

Casa Las Palomas is a beautiful, well designed and fully equipped villa in a stunning, quiet rural location.

We enjoyed a wonderful two week break there, dividing our time between lazy days around the pool and trips out to explore this unspoilt part of Andalucia.

The local hill top town of Comares is a must see, whilst the delights of Malaga (well worth a visit after a recent revamp) are less than an hour’s drive away. Even Granada is only two hours away. But it is the peaceful Andalucian countryside that dominates here from the moment you get up in the morning and take in the amazing view from the master bedroom window.

The villa has been built in a way that maximises the amount of sun on the large pool terrace - during our stay it popped up soon after eight in the morning and stayed there until gone eight in the evening. Perfect for sun worshippers. But, when the temperature soared, we were able to take advantage of numerous comfortable shady spots specifically created for the purpose.

After sundown, the large terrace barbecue made dining in a very attractive option, with pre-dinner drinks by the pool. Coupled with the use of a well appointed kitchen in the villa, the result was almost inevitable - we dined in most nights.

Overall a fantastic holiday, helped along by David & Jacqui’s friendly and efficient but unobtrusive presence. Las Palomas itself was undoubtedly the star of the show.

Excellent in every way

Our family had the most relaxing and fabulous holiday here.

The Villa was very clean and we'll maintained.

The facilities were second to none. The manager, David, was very helpful. There are many places to visit if you can tear yourself away from the pool, gardens, and all the areas available for relaxing.The mountain views are AMAZING

This is our first villa holiday and will definitely not be our last.Highly recommended on every level

Heaven on earth

WOW, a wonderful home from home with everything you could possibly need. Our two weeks were amazing, peaceful, relaxing and immense fun too, we ate out just twice, preferring to bbq and enjoy the pool, patio, views and several seating areas! Supermarket in Benamogosa has all you need and butcher is very very helpful! Our kids are 17 and 19 loved it, we relaxed and enjoyed quality time as a family. THANK YOU

we have been doing villas holidays for 12 years ,from costa blanca down to gibralter , all lovely villas in there own right ,but all lacking a little something, but " casa las palomas " had everthing we wanted in a holiday ,great pool ,lovely gardens and thoses views across the valley,wish i was there now,nice beach down at tossa del mar and a great maket at torrex costa on mondays.and what nice people dave and jackie are,and will get you some lovely wine if you ask them.we really enjoyed our time therei would gladly recommend this villa who want a relaxing holiday . carole and pete from burnley lancashire .

The nearby village of Comares is one of the most character filled Moorish influenced village steeped in history and with an absolute stunning hill top position.

Comares:

Walking through the cobbled streets of the village is a delight. Not only is there a timeless, peaceful atmosphere throughout, but you can take a sub-conscious history lesson as you walk. The coloured ceramic tiles which decorate the village tell the story of Comares’ place in Spanish history since the 3rd century BC. The remaining ruins of the huge Moors fortress of Comares tells a little of the story itself, but there is little remaining.

There are a handful of fantastic bars in Comares, a couple of exceptional restaurants and many doorstep stalls selling local wine, raisins, almonds, olives, honey and cheese. The local produce is mouth watering, and the little doorstep shops make cooking in a self catering Comares villa or apartment an absolute delight. During the St Hilairo de Poitiers festival from the 25th – 27th August each year, Comares springs into life, transforming from a sleepy, sun-drenched village to become a haven of activity, music, dance and food.

Comares lies just outside the Malaga Mountains Nature Park, a wonderful area of mountains, river valleys and thick forests awash with wildlife. The park is a fantastic place to walk and climb, surrounded by some of the finest views to be found across Andalucia, and in amongst the indigenous wildlife of the region.

This is unspoilt rural Spain, with a local economy not aimed at inflated prices for tourists, but also so well located it allows you to explore cities within the hour and water parks and beaches within 30 minutes.

The combination of stunning views, tranquillity and convenient location to explore this stunning part of Spain is amazing and still untapped.
