Large Holiday Home Private Pool and Tennis Courts - Only 35 Mins from Porto

Set in beautiful private and peaceful gardens with an elevated position, this substantial property is the ideal venue for a large family and/or group of friends to meet and enjoy memorable holidays.

The house has a feel of the traditional 'Maison De Maitre' that you normally find in the South of France.

It is tall, imposing yet inviting at the same time.

Set well back in its own private grounds of around an acre, it has a long private driveway and is surrounded by well tended and mature gardens with various fruit trees including wonderful figs!

There are 6 bedrooms in the main house and 3 bedrooms in a separate wing of the grounds ( just a few seconds walk)

There is for your pleasure and relaxation a very generous sized swimming pool at 10m x 5m - an all weather tennis court - and a games room with a full size billiard table and table tennis!

The house by virtue of its design is very shaded and cool in the summer and is very cozy with underfloor heating and central heating throughout plus open fireplaces making it very special in the winter.

Northern Portugal's Star Villa

We were a family party of 14 at Casa San Antonio for two wonderful weeks. The owners met us on arrival and gave us a detailed and informative overview of the villa and its workings. For us, this made all the difference in settling in and feeling immediately warmly welcomed and at home. The villa is in impeccable condition where no cost has been spared in its renovation, and is situated amongst well tended and beautiful gardens, trees and lawns. It is truly a place to remember and actually supersedes the comfort and luxury portrayed in the photographs. The rooms are spacious. The linens and towels are sumptuous The kitchen would thrill a gourmet cook with premium quality appliances and simply every gadget imaginable. Dinnerware and glassware are equally top class, and there were several dining areas which were a delight. The swimming pool and tennis court satisfied our every wish. Excellent supermarkets and fresh produce markets made for easy meal preparation, but tasty, home cooked meals were also just a telephone call away. The villa has a perfect location for sightseeing and is equidistant from the spectacular Douro Valley and its wineries, and Porto. There are many lovely smaller towns within 30 minutes' drive, and Amarante itself is a little jewel. We found numerous and excellent restaurants and picturesque cafes in the centre of the town. We enthusiastically give Casa San Antonio a ten out of ten rating for families seeking the perfect holiday home in northern Portugal. Our family will certainly be returning soon!

Amazing villa!

We have had a great weekend in an amazing villa! It is great all bedrooms have separate bedrooms and it is all very clean. The view from the balconies at the back is beautiful. We are really happy we have chosen this villa for our weekend.
