Bramble Cottage is a semi detached house with period features and spacious rooms. The house can sleep 8/10 plus there is a cot bed. First floor consists of Master bedroom with a king-size bed and en-suite shower room. Twin room which can be made into a super-king size on request, also on this floor is a luxury marble bathroom with a Jacuzzi spa bath and double steam/shower cubicle. On the second floor there is a very large family room with two single beds and a small double sofa-bed (for flexible sleeping arrangements), plus a cot bed, an additional room with a double bed, plus a shower room with wc and sink.

There is ample storage space for the rooms.

On the ground floor is the entrance hall with coat hooks, large lounge with a feature fireplace, there is a very large L shaped kitchen and dining room with a gas stove, table and seating for 8. From the dining room there are patio doors leading to a small lean to conservatory which has an additional small table with chairs, and additional coat hooks and boot rack.

At the back of the house is a stone store which maybe used to keep bikes. The garden is accessed either from the front of the house or the back, where it is mainly lawn with a patio area which has table and chairs

The house has been furnished to a high standard for use by ourselves and our guests. Bramble house is ideally situated for exploring the lakes, Scottish Borders, Hadrian's Wall, as well as relaxing in a beautiful house.

About Andrea Usher

The house was purchased in 2005 as a family home but having relocated we have decided to keep the house as a holiday home so that we can continue to enjoy cumbria and the lake district.

What makes this house unique

We hope that you will love our home as much as we do with the spacious rooms, stripped floor boards and the amazing 'Brampton Spa' as we and our family call it, in our luxury bathroom. Be sure to

visit Talkin tarn for relaxing family walks, boating on the lake and lunch.

Wonderful property

  • 5 of 5

This was a little gem, we were let down on another property but managed to find this one and so glad we did. Brampton is a lovely small town with a couple of nice pubs. We were a group of 8 people here for New Year and Bramble Cottage was an ideal place to stay, plenty of space and a lovely kitchen dining area that fitted us in very comfortably, Lovely bedrooms and bathrooms too with an amazing shower cubicle in the main bathroom. The countryside is beautiful around this area. Andrea was fantastic to deal with and very prompt with replying, I would definitely recommend Bramble House as a perfect place to stay for a short break.

Bramble house was stunning, well fitted out and in a cosy village.

First impressions were amazing. Big rooms and high ceilings with a nice homely feel. Sharing with 4 other adults was no problem, with 3 bathrooms and plenty of space. We had good communication with the owner and felt very welcome. The only minor issue was no parking close to the house but we were aware of that before arriving. I would definitely stay again though and highly recommend it.

Overall Fantastic

  • 5 of 5

A group of 7 friends and I (4 girls 4 boys) booked this property for new year, communication with both Owners was excellent, both via email and text message!

Directions and all information for arrival were sent in plenty of time and very clear. House is in a fantastic location with everything in walking distance, car parking is also very accessible and right round the corner from the house.

The house itself was equally as good as the location, spotlessly clean and very spacious. The house would suit all age groups and would highly recommend to anyone thinking of booking this.

Thanks again for the stay we would go back in a minute!

Excellent

  • 5 of 5

House was clean when we arrived. The house is a lot bigger once inside. There was plenty of space for us all. Kitchen was large with a table that could easily accommodate 10 people. The spa bath was great for the children. The directions and communication from the owners was great. There is plenty to do locally, Talkin Tarn was only 5 minute drive and had good access for wheelchair and prams. You could walk or cycle from house. We would recommend. Had a great weekend.

Brampton Family Stay

  • 5 of 5

From the outside this looked like a small cottage but when you walked in, it was so spacious! There were ten family members staying here and there was plenty of room for all of us. Everything was as described and we found it very well maintained and clean. Correspondence with the owner was excellent and always prompt. We walked around Talkin Tarn which was very beautiful and we visited Carlisle Castle which is worth the short trip.

Activity and Interests

Nearest Airport : Newcastle at 48 Miles Nearest Barpub : White Lion Nearest Ferry : North Shields at 56 Miles Nearest Golf : Brampton at 2 Miles Nearest Train : Brampton at 2 Miles Nearest Motorway : M6 at 2 Miles Nearest Restaurant : Huntingtons Nearest Ski : Alston at 18 Miles Nearest Beach : Maryport at 35 Miles Car: recommended

A peaceful town centre location with the convenience of local shops and country pubs close by, the Talkin Tarn nature reserve and its 65 acre lake is 2 miles away, lots of local woodland walks are close by.

The border city of Carlisle is 9 miles away with its Castle and Cathedral, and Gretna green in Scotland with the famous Blacksmiths shop also 9 miles away. Hadrians wall virtually runs through Brampton stretching 80 miles and is now a world heritage site you can walk part of it or all! the closest fort is Birdoswald, a few miles away and Lanercost priory are both worth a visit.

Further a field but within easy reach is the lake district national park, Ullswater a stunning North lake can be reached in 30 minutes its steamer can take you around the lake or you can walk, in my book not to miss. Also on the lake side is Airaforce a large waterfall surrounded by stunning countryside.

For those who like a bit of the city life, culture and history Newcastle and Edinburgh, Scotlands capital can be reached by train in a little over an hour from Carlisle, travelling through beautiful countryside on the way, or indeed you can drive. This is the ideal self catering property to discover some of the most beautiful and historic parts of Cumbria, Northumberland and the Scottish Borders. Perfect for families and groups of friends.
