Smelly, dark, army compound like ‘villa’ in the middle of an industrial area , surrounded by pylons.
We were hugely disappointed with Sestados. We were so disgusted by the villa that we left within 24 hours, despite having booked it for 8 days.
It’s in a very run down town, which is clearly industrial. The surrounding area is horrible, and the last place you’d want to spend your holiday. The view from the villa is a concrete electric substation, and various factory signs. These have been cleverly cropped from the photos, but are there in your face every time you look out or up. The villa is surrounded by pylons, and electric wires which had been photoshopped out of the original listing. The picture of the outside of the villa was not real, it’s FAKE and was photoshopped. This has now been removed by the owner and replaced with photos which show the wires. But beware, these are huge electric wires and pylons, which are an eyesore.
The villa absolutely stank of mould and was really musty. All the cupboards smelled of mould.After complaining to the owner about this, he denied it smelled, and then said ‘well, this is Mallorca’. I’ve been to Mallorca over 20 times and rented many properties, none of which have smelled musty and mouldy.
The third bedroom had a window that looked into the garage, protected only by a wire mesh. The garage was dusty and full of junk, and this was what the third bedroom looked into. Not very pleasant or hygenic!
The whole house was really dark and the living area felt like a coffin. There were 2 tiny windows, which hardly let in any light.
Whilst the kitchen was well equipped, there is nothing else I can positively say about this hell hole. We felt like we were in an army compound in a war torn country, not in beautiful Mallorca.
DO NOT STAY AT THIS AWFUL PLACE!!!! The villa is ugly and smelly. Do not be fooled by the misleading photos.
