About the property

3 Bedroom, 3 Bathroom With Wonderful Views Of The 18th Fairway

Our gorgeous Sanibel home overlooks the stunning 18th fairway at The Dunes Golf and Tennis Club and offers 1690 square feet of comfortable living space for up to six guests.

The house is centrally located with the Gulf Beaches and Sanibel Causeway just a few minutes bike ride or drive away.

There is also a wide variety of shops available just around the corner - Jerry's Supermarket, Sanibel Cafe, Simply Cup Cakes and Pinnochio's Original Homemade Italian Ice Cream Shop to name but a few.

The house has just been fully refurbished - all the furniture is brand new and décor is of a high standard. We aim to provide all the items you will need during your vacation. This includes towels, bed linen, beach towels, a fully equipped kitchen, washer / dryer, 3 well-appointed modern bathrooms and high definition Cable TV in 3 rooms. There is also a DVD player and video library..

Living Room, which is ideal for entertaining, listening to music from the surround sound system, playing games or reading. We provide a work desk area. Our home has been described as ‘cosy - chic’ and this is exactly what we hoped to achieve. The general living area is large and includes the glass enclosed Lanai, with its wonderful panoramic views of the lake and natural wildlife, where you can chill out and relax. There is also a comfortable TV entertainment room, with 46” HD Cable TV, DVD player and a selection of recent DVDs. We also have a separate area for reading, computer internet use and games.

Dining choices can be either on the gorgeous mango wood dining table overlooking the fairway or, outside, watching the sun set from the furnished patio area, whilst cooking dinner on the BBQ.

We have a small selection of beach chairs and umbrellas to take to the beach and there is an assortment of children’s beach toys if required.

As part of our ‘home from home’ approach, we also provide guests with the little nice things.. Our 'Bathroom Spoiler' introductory pack includes hand soap, toilet rolls, body wash puffs, tissues, make up remover wipes and our' Kitchen Necessity' introductory pack includes kitchen roll, washing up liquid, dishwasher tablets, cling film/food wrap, aluminium foil, waste bags and ground coffee for your stay.

Included also in your monthly vacation charge is an interim clean half way through your stay, which includes a change of linens and towels..

Our family lives in Edinburgh in Scotland and we have been coming to Sanibel and Captiva since 2006. We are Harold and Sandra, and our son Joshua is 23 and our daughter Katie is 21. We love the island and it is truly a total paradise...

We feel very privileged to have a home here and would hope that anyone who stays enjoys the beauty of the surroundings and all that Sanibel brings to a superb quality of life.

Why Sandra Feather chose Florida

We were in Captiva for a holiday in July 2012 - and during the last two days before returning home - we were showed the property in Sanibel as it was for sale... Immediately we all liked the warm, spacious feel about the house and the quality of the remodelling which had been done previously. The views on to the golf course are wonderful and I have found that during these last few months - they are truly unique.

What makes this house unique

The view is stunning, and the now newly refurbished Lanai has sliders which can be opened in the cooler months to allow the breeze to flow through. From a family who live in a climate which usually ranges from 50 - 60 degrees - that is truly wonderful!!

The real benefit though is the spaciousness and light in the general living area - everyone who has come into the house has said and felt the same - it's a sunshine house with a quality, warm feeling about it.

Honeymoon

This was our 3rd stay at this wonderful property after spending 2015 celebrating our engagement here, we decided to return for our honeymoon in June 2017. Tom and I were so grateful to The Feathers on all that they did to make our stay extra special.

It is great that there are bikes and beach accessories to utilise whilst you stay which makes the beach days so much easier and cheaper whilst also keeping you active! (Parking is $4 an hour on the islands beaches). You are a short ride to the local shops and restaurants and also not far off the island to Fort Myers and Estero regions with the larger shopping complexes and more golf courses.

The location on the Dunes is great with excellent views from the property of the golf course, lakes, gators and especially great views when the afternoon storms come. It is quite comfortable with an open, spacious feel with numerous seating/relaxing areas, meaning if there was more than 2 in the party, people can have their own space if they wanted to. It also is helpful to have full amenities such as washer, dryer, dishwasher and full american size fridge freezer.

We love Sanibel and the SWFL region and staying here you really feel like a local, with the neighbours and residents on the Dunes being really friendly.

Homely and welcoming..... perfect!!!!!

Was spotlessly clean throughout with lots of extras to help give a homely feel and plenty of room to spread out.

Stunning location with lots of wildlife to see and good area for exploring and relaxing in local cafes, bars and restaurants..... Traders being a favourite with daily 'Happy Hours'.

Beach areas had lots to offer with either quiet, calming spaces or social spots to enjoy chatting to locals. Boat rides and water activities on offer or strolling, cycling or running.... all to spend time with family or friends.

Food quality excellent both in local shops or on main land......local caught fish superb.

We had a great time, this being our 5th visit and can't wait for a repeat next year.

Sanibel perfection

Once again we chose to spend out vacation at our favorite rental 1603 Sandcastle Road.

On arrival the home was immaculate as always. The layout of the home is perfect for both couples and families.

The views whilst eating breakfast and dinner in the lanai overlooking the golf course are amazing. With views of local wildlife, including gators, being a regular sight.

There are cycles for your use which are ideal for the island lifestyle, along with beach accessories for all the family.

There is no other place on Sanibel that we would rather spend our vacation.

Thank you once again Sandra and Harold for allowing us to share your wonderful home.

Great location. We loved it from the first moment!

Hi Sandra.

Thank you for the wonderful time we had in your great house.

Everything was perfekt. We missed nothing. The furniture was quite new, everything was tip top clean. We have never seen a house for rent in such a good condition before! We felt very comfortable and we enjoyed several rides by bike. Now we know every beach and spot on Sanibel and Captiva. The location of the house is very good because it´s at the beginning of Sanibel. If you want to go to Fort Myers or to the malls you're at the mainland in a few minutes. So we will come back and hope to see you again soon.

Sanibel Heaven

This was our 3rd stay at this wonderful property. The owners Sandra and Harold ensure that everything you need to enjoy your vacation is provided.

The property is beautifully maintained and a real home from home. The location adjacent to the Dunes Golf Club affords wonderful views over the course and also many of its wildlife habitat.

There are cycles available for the short ride to the beaches and local shops and restaurants, but the opportunity to barbecue dinner on your porch watching the fabulous Sanibel sunset should not be missed.

Our trip this year was made more special as our daughters boyfriend proposed to her during our stay.

We have already arranged to return in 2016 and would not go anywhere else in South West Florida.

The Place to be on Sanibel Island

This is by far the best property we've rented since we started coming to Sanibel five years ago. The home is meticulously maintained and appointed. It is quite comfortable with an open, spacious feel. All amenities are provided and the kitchen is very well equipped. We particularly enjoyed relaxing on the enclosed lanai with gorgeous views of the golf course, lakes and wildlife. The home is ideally located close to shops and restaurants. For those times you wish to leave the island to enjoy the many other attractions in the Ft. Myers area, its location makes access on and off the island very easy. Sandra made every effort to ensure we were comfortable and happy while staying in her home. It truly felt like our "home away from home".

Sanibel is truly a unique tropical paradise! It is consistently rated as a top beach destination in the world.... It offers wonderful wildlife in abundance and many opportunities to explore the local exotic animals (alligators, manatees, dolphins and bobcats) with a drive through the J N Darling Wildlife Refuge, CROW or visit the Shell Museum.

An exceptionally wide variety of shells can be found on the miles of soft white sandy beaches and placid warm waters. Sanibel is known for its shelling!!

It also provides over 26 miles of paved trails allows for endless biking, walking and even roller blading! Or a take a guided kayak tour through Tarpon Bay....

Enjoy the island's incredible sunsets at the beach or explore the dining opportunities at Sanibel's unique restaurants. There is a wide variety of shopping malls on and off the island and the island offers a number of live theatre productions and art galleries featuring local talent.
