Our French rental holiday home lies at the foot of the Pyrenees and yet close to the Mediterranean, in the Catalonian town of Sorèl in the ancient province of Roussillon, corresponding to the present-day southern French department of Pyrénées-Orientales. Few other regions in Europe can tempt you with such a variety of sceneries and contrasts. Here people speak the Catalan language, as in the adjacent part of Spain. Roussillon is the most sunny region in France! The spacious and well-equipped home is very suitable for 2 families. It is situated close to the centre of Sorède, a small town of 3.000 inhabitants. Here you'll find cafés, restaurants, shops with everyday necessities, weekly market, bank, post-office and tourist-office. The nearest larger towns are Argelès-sur-Mer, Céret and the administrative province-capital Perpignan with 120.000 inhabitants. The picturesque seaside town of Collioure, is located only 10 mins away.

Excellent sejour dans gite familial

Nois avons passe un tres bon sejour chez ulrich dans un gite agreable et bien place au pied des alberes et a proximite de la cote. La maison est spacieuse et la salle de jeux un vrai plus pour les enfants comme les grands ! Nous recommandons et y reviendrons avec plaisir.

Séjour très agréable dans une jolie maison avec une terrasse très agréable avec vue sur les alberes.

Jolie maison bien située proche des commodités, malgré un petit problème électrique, le propriétaire nous a contacté immédiatement et envoyé un électricien qui nous a dépanné rapidement. La région est magnifique, plage du Raccou à 15 mn en voiture, possibilité de balades en montagne. Nous garderons un excellent souvenir de notre séjour. A conseiller sans problème.

seuls bémols: à notre arrivée, le ménage laissait à désirer (poubelles non vidée,poussière++ ...) linge sale des occupants précédents que nous aurions du laver !! ce que nous avons refusé de faire

Un séjour très agréable

La maison est facile à trouver et conforme en tous points au descriptif, sauf pour ce qui concerne la taille des lits doubles puisqu'ils mesurent 160cm et non pas 150 (c'est important pour les draps-housses qu'il faut emporter). Des couvertures se trouvent dans les placards, inutile donc de se surcharger avec cela. La maison est spacieuse et bien équipée, et la salle de jeux est appréciable au garage (de même que le 2ème frigo s'y trouvant par ailleurs). Les multiples terrasses permettent de jongler entre ensoleillement et hombre... Sorede est un village charmant doté de toutes les commodités et situé à 10 minutes d'Argeles, 20 à peine de Collioure, magnifique station balnéaire qui mérite vraiment le détour. Assurément, une location à recommander sans problème...

Why they chose this property

A charming house, very well constructed, original an old barn rebuild for habitation in the 70's by the former owner, a bricklayer with huge sense for accúracy. Many fine details.
Wonderful surroundings, the mountains just outside the door, a charming small town; the blue mediterranean nearby, Tasty red and white wines - Cotes de Roussillon
