Casa Beaupied is a very welcoming and comfortable 3 bedroom country home set in the beautiful and tranquil Asseca valley, just 1.5km from waterfalls and 7km from Tavira and beach islands.

With all modern conveniences and comforts, plenty of outdoor space and beautiful views, Casa Beaupied is an ideal retreat, for anyone wanting to spend the autumn, winter and spring in a warmer climate, home from home….or summer holidays, spent in a calm and authentic location.

Beneath the wide pergola flanking the house, the entrance leads into an ample ‘family size’ kitchen and dining space. With a large antique dining table and chairs, marble topped kitchen island, dressers full of crockery for every occasion, this room can easily be the hub of entertaining and nurturing!

The ground floor comprises the kitchen and pantry, one bathroom and a snug, living room with air conditioning and a fireplace - leading through to the 3 bedrooms and bathroom on the first floor.

The master bedroom is air conditioned and has a screened external terrace from which one can access the patio below. The second double bedroom has access to a large tiled roof terrace, ideal for sunbathing. There is a further single bedroom with a mezzanine and a beautifully tiled bathroom on the first floor.

Perfectly adapted for all seasons, the 200m2 interior is refreshing in the summer, with its stone clad walls and air conditioned, spacious rooms. In the ‘winter’ the double glazing ensures a cosy, warm and inviting ambient.

Wall to wall literature and DVDs, European TV channels, and games provide plenty of entertainment. Casa Beaupied also provides a wireless internet connection.

With more than 100 m2 of terraced area, partially covered by a traditional pergola, there are many inviting areas to relax, eat al fresco, barbecue and enjoy the outdoor lifestyle the Algarve is perfect for. The views through the valley and beyond are unspoilt and the region offers an authentic taste of country life.

There is 1 Lusitano stallion stabled beside the house, that is cared for by neighbours. Experienced horse riders are welcome to ride the horse, with there being many wonderful tracks and routes to discover in the near vicinity!

Timeless carob trees provide shade over the cobbled parking area and driveway and screen the house from view. Casa Beaupied is nestled perfectly into the hillside within 20,000 m2 of privately owned terrain.

Four sun loungers, armchairs and seating deck the terraces, with ample space to keep cool, out of the sun or soak the sun up in privacy.

The house and grounds would be ideal for children no younger than 6 years old, as there are many terraces with very low walls.

We can provide a cot and high chair and there are plenty of games for older children. Please let us know if you have any other requirements.

As the bedrooms are on the first floor and the access is quite steep, we would recommend this property only for the more agile elderly people.

Casa Beaupied is not overlooked, the nearest neighbour is 200m away.

A tarmac road passes by the house and access to town is easy, with good roads and a particularly beautiful riverside route through the valley, into Tavira. There is plenty of off road parking.

Casa Beaupied is set amidst small farm holdings and nature, the vicinity is quiet and rural.

The nearest village, 2km away, has a small grocery shop and a good restaurant. Tavira, 7km away, offers a large variety of shops and cafés, supermarkets and restaurants.

A selection of beautiful white sand beaches, awarded blue flags for cleanliness, and lagoon crossing islands are within 10km to 15km distance from Casa Beaupied.

In the Asseca valley, the river Sequa flows all year and is a great location for cycling, bird watching, walking, picnics and discovering the beautiful waterfalls, by following the rivers trajectory.

There are excellent golf courses within 10 to 20 minutes drive from the accommodation. The closest are Benamor, Quinta da Ria and Quinta da Cima, Monte Rei.

Ashtrays are provided for smoking outside the property.

We can allow house-trained pets which owners take responsibility for.

Transport is essential for this accommodation, especially in the heat of summer…practical for shopping and for reaching all the beautiful and interesting places further afield. Car rental, taxi transfers and bicycle hire can be organized with local reputable firms in advance or by calling the local representative.

Guests will be met at the house, or otherwise informed where to locate the key and visited soon after arrival. We ensure a prompt and competent service from a team of property managers, who can be contacted at any time.

Excellent property

We were a family of three who enjoyed staying at this property for a week. It was a very peaceful and tranquil location. The host was very supportive and friendly. Being close to the town of Tavira helped with any shopping we needed. Activities wise, there are several beaches nearby ranging from 10 to 40 mins drive. We also had an excellent day out going to Seville in Spain about an hour and a half drive each way. All in all a good location if you fancy travelling around or just relaxing. The house had everything in terms of cooking utensils, cutlery, etc.

Wonderful holiday home

We are a family of 5 seniors who stayed in Feb /Mar. and were very comfortable in the home. The property description is a very accurate write up. The library of books was exceptional. The living room was a little on the small side but the kitchen / dining room was a chef's dream. The bedrooms were well furnished and clean, the beds very comfortable. We spent many hours sitting on the deck in the morning with coffee , wine in the afternoon and evening taking in the magnificent views. There are great restaurants in the area and lots of places to visit.

Anne was very quick to respond to all our inquiries and Angie looked after all our needs once we arrived, she was wonderful. If you are looking for a wonderful place to relax on your vacation you found it with this home.

Tavira, referred to in guide books as the ‘Venice of the Algarve’ is one of the most authentic towns in the Algarve and definitely worth visiting.

Historically, Tavira was an important harbour town and there are still remnants from Moorish, Phoenician and Roman occupations. There is a lively fishing trade along the river front, though far less than when Tavira was known for its huge tuna fishing fleets, the anchors of which can all be seen lodged in the sand at Barril beach.

The beautiful centre of Tavira is situated on the banks of the river Gilão. The town has a seven arched Roman bridge that spans the river and is the focal point of the town. Tavira was virtually rebuilt in the eighteenth century after the famous earthquake of 1755 destroyed most of the buildings. The impressive church of Sta. Maria do Castelo has a Gothic portal and stands on the site of the former 13th century mosque and most of the 37 churches have beautiful tile work within. There are many examples of Renaissance and Manueline architecture including the arched doorway of the Misericordia church. The 13th century castle walls border the medieval centre of town, encompassing tranquil gardens and a Camera Obscura. From there your eyes can scan over the rich tapestry of peaked rooftops to the estuary leading through the mosaic of salt pans and far out into the Atlantic.

Tavira beaches make up part of the Nature Reserve of the Ria Formosa, which comprise six unique barrier islands protecting a system of salt marshes and tidal mudflats, each fronted by white sand beaches that spread as far as the eye can see. An unspoilt haven for nature lovers, walkers and bird watchers.

Few places in Europe have so many Blue Flag beaches in such a concentrated area, you can enjoy the boat and miniature train river crossings, many of which are operational throughout the year.

Notes:

  • Casa Beaupied is available for longer rentals from October through to Spring. Arrivals are flexible, though we aim to keep bookings as close as possible. Departure is by 10 am and arrival is from 2 pm unless otherwise arranged. We provide a once weekly linen and bathroom towel change including a clean of the bathrooms during short term rentals. There will be some toilet paper and soap for arrivals and a hamper of beverages, with additional breakfast and snacks are provided for late arrivals.
