Clean, well equiped, pittoresque home on a good location in the heart of Mdina and Rabat
We fell in love with terrace, but the whole triplex house is really nice. The kitchen has all the stuff to make your own meals and there is a washing machine availible. The furniture is modern and clean. On the terrace you can see the sea, but it hasn't a 360° look. Part of your view is blocked by the wall of the next building (wich gives shade and shelter for the wind, so it didn't disturb us). There are is also a BBQ and lights to sit outside at night. In Mdina and Rabat we felt safe at all times. The house is situated on a really good location, very close to the gate to enter the old city of Mdina. There are a lot good restaurants on walking distance from the house (not only in Mdina). The owner was friendly and punctual. He helped us with everything and we could telephone him if we suffered any problems. In the morning and the evening there is enough free parking space in front of the house, but during the day it can become very busy (tourists, busses). Although Mdina is nicknamed the silent city, it wasn't that quiet. If you are looking for complete silence at night, this isn't the right location, but the noise isn't that loud that it keeps you up at night. We found Mdina the perfect location (way better then Valetta) to experience all the attractions the island has to offer. We would definitly go back to this place.
Lovely place in Mdina
We just spent a week in the lovely little town of Mdina. We decided to rent this house because we wanted something traditional and also with a view. We were not dissapointed! It's a lovely house equiped with everything you need, has a lovely terrace where you can enjoy a glass of wine in the evening, it's air conditoned which you might need as some nights it gets really warm. The house is very well located and you have everything near you (nice restaurants, the citadel in walking distance and parking in front of the house...but unfotunately sometimes it gets very noisy during the night) .We recommend renting a car to visit Malta as you can easily get to any place in a couple of minutes from Mdina.
Alex and Erika will definetely make you feel welcomed and provide you with information of some great places you need to visit durring you stay.
We have enjoyed our little holiday in Mdina and recommend this place if you don't want to stay in the busy turristic hotels.
Really well equipt house in a great location so close to the main gate to Mdina. Alex and Erika are fantastic hosts and nothing is too much trouble, they were so welcoming and helpful. If you love Malta you could not want for anywhere better to stay. Thanks and hope to come back again, Jilly
Had an amazing holiday views from roof terrace were spectacular loved firework displays house well designed and clean area lovely with restaurants recommended by owner and wife were good value with lovely food owners helpful and friendly area beautiful with medina so peaceful and catacombs which were worth a visit lovely art and history on doorstop would return
My husband, mother and I stayed at Mdina View for four nights. We had wonderful time. The house was pretty, clean, well equipped and in a fantastic position.
Erika and Alex the owners were so easy to deal with. Extremely kind, helpful and pleasant. Great place for two couples as the double sofa bed downstairs was very comfortable, as was the double room upstairs. Roof terrace had great views and we enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere in the area. Good restaurants nearby and Mdina was beautiful, especially as we were able to wander around after all the tourists had left at the end of the day. Literally one minute stroll from the house. Very good internet connection too. Highly recommended.
Excellent property to stay in.
I am late with my review, but stayed at Alex's place last year in August. Just went to rebook for this year, but sadly the dates we would like are already booked. Must do this earlier next year! My husband and I stayed here for 6 nights and really enjoyed it. The house is well situated, tucked around the corner from the Point de Vue hotel and within walking distance of the best pastizzi shop in the island, the bus stop and, of course the wonderful fortress of Mdina.
The house had everything that we needed, although we ended up not cooking at all in the end as we were out all the time. It was very handy having a washing machine as we were traveling on. We were concerned about the heat, so one of the reasons we booked this house was because of the airconditioning. We ended up only using it for a couple of nights and on others to cool the room down before sleeping and had plenty of our electricity allowance to spare. Having the fan on and the shutters open was good. As others have noted, it is compact, but really well designed and if you have a third person staying, the bathroom on the ground floor is invaluable if they need to use it at night (you have to go upstairs to the other one).
We were there visiting my mother in Villa Messina nearby and whilst we could have walked there, Alex recommended a great place to hire a car which made getting around the island a breeze (especially with an OAP). There is parking available too.
Alex was great to deal with and picked us up and dropped us off at the airport (despite us being delayed in Barcelona for 24 hours en route).
Would definitely recommend this house, but not if you don't like stairs.
Thanks for the great stay Alex!

Mdina was Malta’s old capital city and is a situated in the centre of the island. It is perched 200 metres above sea level offering spectacular views of the Maltese islands. Mdina was then home to Malta's noble families,
descendants of the Norman, Sicilian and Spanish nobles who made Mdina their home from the 12th century onwards. Their impressive palaces line its narrow streets. Mdina is a fine example of an ancient walled city, with an unusual in its mix of medieval and baroque architecture. Also known as the 'Silent City' Mdina is inhabited but has restricted traffic which enables one to enjoy the narrow street and alleys, churches, convents, and palazzo, which characterize the city, together with the surrounding high bastions. It is one of the Jewels of the Maltese islands and a must while on holiday in Malta. Just adjacent to Mdina is the town of Rabat which also offers its fair share of Tourist attractions. For those seeking the rural Malta, Rabat is the starting point for some of the most interesting walks on the island. Set off to nearby Dingli, Bahrija, Bingemma, Imtahleb, Kuncizzjoni and Lunzjata these villages will surely offer a glimpse of a different character of the island away from the urban life.
Mdina is also well linked through public transport with many other Top sites, Such as Valletta, Golden Bay together with its adjoining beach Reviera, Mosta Dome, San Anton Gardens and The Craft’s Village at Ta’Qali. One can also take a bus to other popular touristic spots such as Sliema, Bugibba, and Marsaxlokk.

The Mdina Experience –an audio visual show that tells the story of Malta’s former capital since its foundation.
Mdina By Night
Clearly, all the museums and attractions will be closed after the sun set but a visit to this stunning fortified city in the evening will offer a totally different experience. To make your nocturnal trip a truly memorable occasion, you need to go prepared. So pack a few goodies in a bag – a bottle of wine, some cheese, maybe some nibbles, olives, and crackers – and head towards the far end of the city. There you will find the bastions, which overlook large parts of Malta and by day provide arguably the best views on the island. Climb up on top, open the wine and enjoy one of the most memorable picnics you are ever likely to have. Lie back and look at the stars as you let your mind wander – but just be careful not to let your body wander as the drop down the other side would cause some serious injury!
