A map of the property is provided in the guest information book in the kitchen. The creek is located about a quarter mile from the house. In the summer it is suitable for swimming or wading, fishing, and kayaking (on a short stretch of creek). It has bass and perch. There are a few fishing poles at the house, but you would want to bring your own gear if you're serious about fishing. (There are some great fishing opportunities in the Mountain View area, on the White River and in Blanchard Spring Recreation Area.)
Kayaks and canoes are (USUALLY) available on the creek bank. Please check with the host in advance if you know you want to use them.
The water level and clarity of the water will vary depending on the time of year and weather.
You are invited to bring ATVs to ride. Shooting is also allowed. Please contact the host in advance about where to shoot.

Things to know:
The house is on a dirt road. Condition varies. It's always passable by car, but it can be bumpy or muddy at times. Some areas of the property may be accessible only by 4wd or on foot, especially during wet weather.
Cell service is spotty. AT&T works at the house, but service is not reliable as you get away from the house. You can drive along the road back toward town and pick up service in a mile or so. Other providers are worse. WiFi calling generally works at the house.
The house is wheelchair accessible via a ramp at the back door.
We offer guided hunting during deer and turkey season. This is booked separately, and hunting is not included with reservation of the house.

Comfortable farmhouse in a beautiful rural setting
We had a very nice stay in this house. The setting was gorgeous in early spring. Our group size was smaller than anticipated but it worked out well -- room for everyone around the kitchen table, rocking chairs for all on the covered porch. The only thing that would have made the experience better would be to have received the directions (and the warning about what Google or Apple Maps would likely get wrong) a day earlier.

Beautiful location!
We loved absolutely every detail of this amazing property! Our group of 7 ranged from ages 6 to 43 years old and offered some thing for everyone. We enjoyed cooking a big breakfast in the kitchen and using the fire pit for s’mores in the evening. we also enjoyed the wonderful variety of books in the home library. Watching the sunrise and the baby cows from the front porch can’t compare to a regular hotel. A bit off the grid and away from neighbors, but yet only 5 miles into town for activities, and restaurants and grocery store. We will definitely be back in the future!

Seven guys on bikes. Great old house, really fixed up nicely. No problem navigating gravel road & drive, but best for experienced rider. Only 15 min from Mt View. Great for peace & quiet. Great communication w Host!

Dream Vacation Spot
This was one of my favorite places I have ever stayed. Such a clean and beautiful spot to get away and relax. I really appreciate the simplicity, but also the attention to detail that the host puts into her home to make it truly a wonderful experience. I really appreciated the family friendly atmosphere including gates on the stairs, (great for a very active 10 month old!) picnic tables and even a few toys and games in the livingroom for the kids. Everything is tastefully decorated and the house and property are so accommodating. I cannot recommend this home enough!

Secluded getaway
Perfect quiet weekend away. Great accommodations for 2 families with 7 kids 14-8. Everyone kept busy exploring the woods and creek. We had fun kayaking and canoeing. Plenty of room to play ball etc. The porch was a favorite spot for the adults. Firepits got a lot of use. Highly recommend if you're looking for a quiet spot to relax, recharge and get out in nature. Our family plans to come again!
