About this property

Ocean-front cottage on private, treed lot.

Our fully restored century home overlooking Northumberland Strait is the perfect spot for your PEI vacation. From the wide, generous south facing deck, our property leads down to your own private red sand beach. You will enjoy breathtaking views from our tastefully furnished cottage.

On the main level, our living room furniture is comfortably gathered around a flat screen TV and wood stove. Our home features an additional sitting room, where you can lounge and gaze out at the view through glass doors. You will find our signature Red Leaf table, where you can enjoy a meal, or play cards and board games. The cheerful red and white fully equipped country kitchen has been lovingly restored, with rustic beams and exposed brick over the warm wood floor. The large kitchen island offers plenty or work space and storage, as well as two snack bar chairs. Laundry facilities are conveniently located on the main floor, inside the full bathroom with shower/tub combination and lovely vessel sink.

Upstairs, there are white painted plank board floors and we have three bedrooms; one with queen sized bed complete with ocean view, one with full sized bed and the third with two single beds. This level also has a half bathroom.

Red Leaf Beach House offers you plenty of space for outdoor play, beach walking, and wildlife viewing. Sit on the deck and catch sight of the seals playing in the surf. Our second deck on the north side of the house offers another quiet retreat.

Centrally located on the south shore, we are just a 15 minute drive from the Confederation Bridge. Follow the Red Sands Shore Drive to reach Victoria-By-The-Sea. Walk along the harbour, have lunch at one of the great restaurants, or take in a show at the Playhouse. There are numerous provincial parks in this area, including Chelton and Bonshaw with long hiking trails. There are so many ‘must see’ PEI destinations and activities that are close by.

Enjoy your day trips, and come home to Red Leaf Beach House to view spectacular sunsets at our beautiful vacation spot.

It is impossible not to relax here!

Very nice cottage!
One small addition required in the kitchen: a properly-sized cutting board!

Quiet and Cozy
This was our 2nd trip to PEI and we brought our 3 girls this time. This house was very private and has steps down to the ocean so we could explore the rocky shores. The house is very cute and lots of little places to sit and read or eat or relax. It had everything we needed and anytime I was looking for something, there it was. Extra cozy blankets, puzzles and games, a chair to set your bag on, etc. Plus plenty of paper products, spices, etc. I will say there are areas where the ceiling is very low and the floors are a little uneven but you get used to it after a couple days. The location is about 15-20 minutes from main roads so plan to drive 30 minutes to Victoria-by-the-sea and Summerside, 45 to Cavendish, and an hour to Charlottetown. But we wanted something private and near the water so it was fine with us. Overall it was a cute little cottage that our family would come back to every night and I will always have fond memories of our little house by the sea.

Wonderful PEI Beach House
This property looked cozy and relaxing on the VRBO site and it did not disappoint. The views from the cottage are spectacular and having the staircase down to the beach was great. Very clean, cozy, relaxing and peaceful as there were very few people on that stretch of the road. The cottage is well stocked with modern appliances but still retains a very rustic feel. We will be back!
