Lovely, comfortable apartment in the heart of Lazise

  • 5 of 5

We stayed 6 nights in the Monte Baldo apartment on Corso Cangrande in the compact, old town of Lazise. A short walk from restaurants, cafes, bus stops and the ferry terminal.

Apartment itself was clean, comfortable and with plenty of kitchen facilities. Also had a lovely view of the mountains on one side and a leafy garden on the other. No balcony in the apartment, but there was a balcony off the main stairs, to which we brought down a couple of chairs to watch the sunset one evening - with a few drinks.

Angelo was welcoming, pleasant, efficient and informative, providing plenty of tourist info.

A/C was good. No lift, so had to carry bags up two floors.

Only real downside was the wifi. On being given the password we could not connect with any device. Angelo had to reboot the wifi from another apartment. We could then connect with two of our three devices. A little bit slow, but adequate for day to day use. It appears that the wifi serves three apartments and may be a bit over-stretched.

Apart from that, we really enjoyed our stayed and would recommend this apartment to couples and small families.

Schön zentral gelegene Ferienwohnung

  • 4 of 5

Die Ferienwohnung liegt mitten im historischen Altstadtteil.

Sehr groß, alles vorhanden was man braucht!

Sauber, klimatisiert - einzig die Klimaanlagen sind nicht in den Schlafräumen (man muss die Türen tagsüber öffnen).

  • 5 of 5

Thanks to Angelo!

Lazise, on the Veronese shore of Lake Garda, has very old origins. The name Lazise comes from the Latin word “lacus” which means “village on the lake”. In fact, Lazise used to be both a place where there were lake-dwellings besides a Roman suburb, a market and a prestigious castle in the Middle Ages.

Lazise has many interesting churches, among these there is the Romanesque church of San Niccolo (XII century) near the port. The church of San Martino was rebuilt in neoclassical style between 1976 and 1840 in the place of the church of San Zeno dating back to the XIV century, without leaving any ruins.

The most evident building in Lazise, which was known as the Customs of Veneto, used to be an arsenal for ship maintenance. After the reconstruction during the last years, the building began to be used for holding congresses. Villa Pergolana, located at the end of the lakeside, towards Bardolino, was built in renaissance style in the XIV century.

After many years, Lazise as well the other towns on the lake, made lots of changes: from a small and poor town made up of fisherman and farmers to a very important tourist centre full of hotels, camping sites, restaurants, allowing it to become one of tourist’s favourite destinations for their holiday on Lake Garda.
