Peaceful, welcoming, well equiped and beautiful wooden house

  • 4 of 5

We stayed in the house in the last week in May and were very lucky with the beautiful weather. The house is a peaceful, well equiped wooden house in a stunning landscape. The deck outside is wonderful for eating on, for reading and for watching the locals as they go about their work in the fields. We spent nearly the whole week in the house only going out twice for shopping - the place was so relaxing. We particularly loved the garden, the deck, the reading room and the plunge pool. The views from the house are of the sea, the local valley and the high mountains and are stunning.

Lena was a welcoming and generous host who brought us to the house and provided basic food as we arrived on a Sunday with no shops open. She filled us in on the history of the house, what to do in the area and made us feel we had really arrived after only 10 minutes chatting.

This was a lovely house and we came away relaxed after just a week.

Great lodge, great location, great weeks holiday..

  • 5 of 5

After reading the reviews I thought our holiday would be good anyway but after seeing the place and the location and the views we were amazed how lovely the lodge and surroundings were. We had a great week and weather was great, the lodge is like a sun trap all day. The pool and BBQ made for a lovely mealtime and the balcony overlooking the mountains was an awesome view as the sun set. We have already booked for next year for two weeks we enjoyed our time so much. We visited the beach which is literally 15min drive and is superb. With supermarket close by its holiday you could spend just in and around the lodge. Thank you to Lena who was always available and made us feel very welcome, we look forward to seeing her again next summer for two weeks next time.

What a wonderful holiday we had in Lena & Richard's cabin! Lena met us at the nearby town and we followed her which was ideal as it would be tricky to find on your own! Well worth the drive up the mountains. A perfect location for a quiet and relaxing break, the only visitors were the eagles, cute lizards and bats! Beautiful breathtaking views that we never tired of. The cabin had everything we needed :-) How lovely to be able to walk out of the bedroom onto the rear decking then into the pool. The enormous decking at the front of the cabin was our outside living room, shade from the hottest part of the day from the gazebo was essential. We had some lovely evening walks from the cabin, so much to see and perfect for nature & wildlife lovers. So many memories.

Quiet and peaceful Holiday cabin

  • 4 of 5

Our 10 day stay was excellent and a totally different type of accommodation and location for us. Lena the owner was very friendly and helpful. The cabin was lovely with full sunshine from about 10am all day so great for sun worshippers like us! It was very secluded and peaceful and having our own pool was a bonus. The views of the surrounding mountains were stunning and at night it was nice to see the other mountain dwellings lit up in the distance. The coast and town were just a few miles away but it took time to negotiate the mountain track, made up of steep hills and hair pin bends but it was all part of the holiday experience! The local town had a long promenade and sandy beach with plenty of restaurants to choose from. Further around the coast are small quiet bays and the larger town of Nerja was much busier and had plenty of small shops and restaurants. Overall we had a fabulous holiday

Absolutely Fabulous

  • 5 of 5

This was just what we were looking for. A superb mountain location but close enough to the sea, a well equipped finca, fantastic swimming pool and fabulous hosts. The journey up to the accommodation is an adventure. Upon arriving the views are incredible. The finca is a wonderful place to stay and rest, however the pool is so tempting as is the choice of charcoal or gas BBQ. We were able to pick limes, fresh figs and were even given red and green grapes by the Spanish locals who were harvesting just below the finca. In August the weather is hot but we became accustomed to it very quickly and the finca remained comfortable with the fans provided and of course the pool to assist.

We did venture down the track and think that the caves are well worth a visit in Nerja, as well as the donkey sanctuary. As far as food shopping goes, we found that the Mercadona in El Morche the best and most Spanish - fabulous Langoustines and selection of Spanish wines. WE enjoyed the marina at Calista too. The hosts Lena and Rich are such fun and very helpful. This is a place that as a family of two children and two adults we shall return to for more!
