grounds and pool are very well taken care of., I have no complaints avout my apartment, excellent location, steps away from the ocean, steps away to a grocery store, this is my second time, and hopefully will be staying in the same place next year., Louise, the manager was most helpful. Pleny of restaurants all walking distance., have recommended this property from some friends from Canada and they loved it., Again a big thank you to Louise.

The apartment was very clean, well maintained, Louise, the representative was absolutely terrific, very helpful, I certainly would rent the premises, if all goes well, for another stay. Walking distance to the sea, walking distance to all restaurants., 5 star for me.,

The flat is equipped perfectly. We (my sister, her 2 children and I) have felt very well. Louise is very friendly and reliable and very helped for us in every situation. If we travel again to Javea, we will rent in any case again this flat. Many thanks over again to Louise.

Ideal base

  • 4 of 5

We stayed in the apartment for the whole of August and loved every minute. I had decided to have a working holiday. This apartment was perfect. I worked every day until 3pm - as an editor, I only needed the laptop (the dongle I purchased locally was cost effective at £40 for the month and gave me no trouble) and I spent the rest of the day exploring the area.

Javea is really three towns in one. The Arenal, which is literally 100m from the apartment (although you hear no noise) was perfect for my 15 year old and 19 year old. There are plenty of kids around and no trouble so for my youngest, this was his first summer of freedom. As long as they were together, they could stay out on the beach until the early hours with the other kids and learn how to be a young adult without the dangers he faces in London. Although there are lots of bars and a couple of clubs, Javea is really a family resort and the Arenal is nice and gentle. The beach is stunning. Miles of golden sand,

About half an hour's walk away (I don't drive - there is a cost effective bus too) is the Port. Slightly more adult & upmarket, the restaurants & fantastic and the festivals a joy. The English second hand bookshop is wonderful. Buy any book for E4 & when you take it back he will return E1.50. Much better than buying books before you come. The lanes are really pretty, Far more Spanish than the Arenal and a wonderful clean, pebbly beach. In fact Javea is famous for the cleanliness of its beaches and of the air,

The 3rd town is the Old Town. Medieval buildings, a fabulous market & a real treat to explore, this is a separate entity to the rest of Javea. Great restaurants mix with history & shops to give you a full day's adventure. You probably should get a bus to this one. We walked & got some very funny looks from the locals when we told them. It was a good hour.

The apartment itself was perfectly adequate. The best part is the location. The local supermarket stocks everything you could possibly need including fresh meat, vegetables, fruit and fish. The pool is wonderful. Much bigger than it looks in the picture & I spent a lot of time sitting under the palm tree. The kitchen is a good size & well equipped, as are all the other rooms. However, the washing machine was a bit of a trial - it didn't drain properly (the agent says it will be changed) & the oven a challenge, having a mind of its own.

But these were small niggles and we would book again in a heartbeat. Thanks for a great month!

Owner's Response: Thanks so much for the comprehensive review and we are glad you had such a great time at the apartment. Your words on Javea are perfect and really sum up its balance of charm and excitement. The minor issues with the washing machine and oven have now been dealt with. We look forward to helping you in the future choose your perfect getaway and it was pleasure looking after you during your stay in Javea. Best wishes The White Coast Team

Javea is the jewel on the northern Costa Blanca, it still functions as a fishing port with the boats leaving every day and returning with their catch. Alongside the rag tag fleet of fishing vessels can be found the multi million euro yachts and family pleasure cruisers all moored in the famous port area below Puchol’s grand villas. Javea has 3 separate distinct stretches of coastline and is very much a lived in area which is popular with visitors and holiday villa seekers. Views across the bay are spectacular.

Playa de l’Arenal is Javea's most famous (but not only) tourist beach area. It is a dreamy setting stretching no more than 300m from the well located Parador hotel in the north as far as the restaurants and nightclubs in the south. The Arenal is home to every type of café bar and restaurant which are set back from the wide promenade and beach, but not home to any of the hi rise blocks associated with Benidorm or Calpe. With views across the bay and a family chilled out atmosphere this is the perfect beach holiday get away. With fine, golden sand and amenities such as volleyball nets along the back of the beach which are popular later in the day and plenty play areas for the kids; this is safe and exciting for all the family.

Scuba diving in Javea is highly recommended and there's no end of dive shops offering introductory dives and PADI courses, the bay in and around Portixol is a favourite amongst divers in the area.

The Costa Blanca has more than 13 golf courses including the championship La Sella course, on C/ Jesus Pobre. There are sailing opportunities available from the Javea port. There are a number of horse riding schools in and around Javea and excellent bike rides.

There are also some great walking routes around Javea and if you are interested in doing some walking you should ask in the Tourist Information office for the booklet 'Nature Parks and Trekking Routes'. A must do walk if you can cope with the heat during the summer months is to climb the Montgo, there are various routes to suit all fitness and age groups with the shortest being about 2 hours round trip, up to the 8 hr full traverse for those of a more adventurous bent.

There are plenty day excursions available to other interesting resorts such as Denia and Moraira the drive along the coast takes you adjacent to many superb beaches. Some of the best are just beyond Denia from Javea as far as Oliva.

For 'foodies' try the local rice based dishes which are typical of the Valencia region at Les Rotes sea front in Denia. If you're looking for something extra for the kids head a little south to Terra Mitica near Benidorm.
