On the first floor the property comprises a large reception (with a sofa-bed for two people), and a very stylish bathroom with Jacuzzi, a dining area with fitted kitchen, a double bedroom with a safe and fitted wardrobe. On the second floor a large reception room with a sofa bed for two people and an original fire-place and en-suite bathroom. On one side of this room, there is a balcony overlooking a wonderful ancient square surrounded by the sea. On the other side the room leads onto several private terraces. One of the terrace provides a beautiful Mediterranean open-air kitchen with a dining area. The other terrace is fitted with sofas, plants and a lovely fountain. On the top floor there is a terrace with a breathtaking view it provides sun beds and a further dining area.

Therefore, the house can either be for 6 people or 8 people.

The house is located within unique landscapes of great natural and historic beauty. Vieste is primarily a beach resort and here’s plenty of sun, restaurants and bars.

Vieste is a small, steep, cobbled town, spilling down the hillside above the seas on the eastern coastline of the Gargano in the Puglia region, a peninsula sometimes described as the spur on the heel of Italian boat.

The house, itself sits on a rock in front of the sea, near a wonderful medieval castle along with an impressive cathedral within a picturesque village called Vieste.

Our house offers a complete vacation environment with many interesting things to see and do. In one place you have the sea with many good beaches, the Foresta Umbra National Park with many hiking trails, lakes, medieval towns with picturesque historic centres, important religious pilgrimage sites, such as Monte S.Angelo and Padre Pio shrine. The food is fantastic, on the coast the fish is great. Most of the coast is covered with citrus groves and olive trees.

There are plenty of opportunity to enjoy water sports including sailing and windsurfing. Along the coast, there are famous grottoes of amazing beauty. You can grotto-hop on a two hour boat trip through these fabulous marine caves.

The house offers the perfect setting for exploring a variety of amazing places. For example, horseback riding in archaeological sites. Also, something not to miss is a visit to Tremiti Islands, ferry services from Vieste operate every day and it will take approx. 40m'

Tremiti Islands form part of the Gargano national park, a large natural reserve within the Puglia region. The Islands are important touristy attraction because of the clear water surrounding them. The fragrant pine woods that continue almost to the water's edge are ideal for gentle trekking. Divers will enjoy exploring the impressive underwater caves and coral reefs and there is a Roman shipwreck 24m. under water.

The beauty of our house it stems from the fact that allows you to combine two different dimensions. On one hand, while sipping a drink in front of the sky and the sea, as if you were on a boat, you can enjoy in a complete silence a ( even when is very hot elsewhere) the impressive view. On the other hand, you are only minutes away walking distance to many restaurants, cafés, and bars. The food is excellent , you can enjoy the Puglia's regional dishes and the local fish is superb. I would strongly recommend not to miss a variety of restaurants or bars on a ' trabucco' That is an old and antic tool made in wood a kind of a small building on top of the sea ' water which hundreds years ago was used to fish. Nowadays are used as restaurants, which are family managed not only the food is delicious, but you can also actively participate in the fishing.

A great house in a beautiful town.

  • 4 of 5

We had a lovely week in Vieste on our first visit to the beautiful Gargano peninsula. The views from the house were stunning. Despite being in the middle of town with easy access to lots of bars and restaurants, it is a peaceful property, as it is in the pedestrianised part. Sonia gave us a very warm welcome and lots of advice about places to go and things to do. There are lots of steep steps both inside and outside the property and the layout of the house is unusual in that you have to walk through rooms where people sleep to access other rooms and the outside space. It is 5 minute walk to a small inlet where we went swimming most days and there is a beautiful sandy beach, with sunbeds for hire, on the edge of town about 20 minutes walk away. We loved the outdoor kitchen and barbecue, and the daily housekeeper was a great help. The local seafood was fantastic.
