Mews Cottage is an enchanting 3 bedroom (sleeping 5) home with spectacular views of the fabulous Georgian spa city of Bath. With its stylish décor this amazing little hideaway will make your stay in Bath a pleasant dream. You will not be staying in the very centre of Bath, which means that you will have an allocated parking space in the drive in front of your home, a delightful sunny garden and a little bit of peace and quiet. Mews Cottage is surprisingly close to many amenities, from supermarkets to gastropubs and is just three-quarters of a mile from the Roman Baths. Hopefully, everything you require will be provided in the cottage, from tea, coffee, etc., to wide-screen TV, DVD, radio and Wifi. Whether your stay is for family and friends or a romantic weekend get away, you could not ask for a more delightful retreat from the bustle of Bath City Centre, yet you need only gaze out of any of your windows to see the stunning city, and even countryside around you.
Mews Cottage is a lovely hideaway, warm welcoming and practical. Situated on a quiet street overlooking the Western side of the city, it is convenient to access the centre of Bath or the surroundings to the East, North and South and the M4.
The living room and kitchen (and single bedroom) are upstairs and thus have the benefit of some lovely views over Bath.
Downstairs for the entrance, Main (double bed) and 2nd (twin beds) bedroom and bathroom.
The property has 2 floors, with the lounge, kitchen and single bedroom upstairs, bathroom and double and twin bedrooms downstairs, and is approached via a sloping driveway. Not suitable for a wheelchair user, due to the stairs, sorry.
The delightful small but private and sheltered sunny garden is accessed by a flight of stone steps externally. There is a small lawn area and some shrubs, and seating, tables and a barbeque are provided. A lovely place to sit in the morning sun.
Off street parking to the front. This can be a bit difficult to access due to the slope of the area and other cars parked on the street, but you can always park in front of the cottage on the road as there is free unlimited on street parking.
Bath is about 1 hour's drive to the nearest beach at Weston Super Mare (sand, sand, sea and even more sand when the tide is out!) and 2 hour's drive to the beautiful Devon coast.
There is a pitch and putt course with panoramic views over the city within walking distance (25 min.), and numerous other excellent 18 hole courses within 10-20 min. driving time.
M4/A46 (Junction 18 on the M4) is about 15 minutes and Bristol International Airport is 30 minutes by car. London Heathrow is about 1hr 45m, Portsmouth docks about 2hrs.
London Paddington rail station is just over an hour on the train from Bath Spa station. A taxi will then be able to whisk you to Mews in less than 10 min.
Driving around Bath is mostly OK, but parking can be hard to find in the centre, so walking and taxis are often as quick and economical.
Bradford on Avon is a pretty old woollen mill town only a 20 min. drive away. Glastonbury is 45 minutes away, or visit Cheddar caves or Longleat Safari Park. Castle Coombe, a quaint village (and motor racing circuit) is 30 min. Bristol 30 min., Stonehenge, Lacock, olde worlde unspoilt village, the South West awaits you.
Bath itself was a big city, like Rome, and became a retirement centre for Roman generals and senators. Its Roman heyday lasted for 400 years! The Romans only left when their empire collapsed and the rest is history. In the time of King George, the city fathers built many innovative buildings in a style that has come to be known as 'Georgian'. Bath is the birthplace of this once modern architecture. Now, with its architectural integrity and the golden hue of its stone, it is one of the jewels of Britain's heritage. Today, Bath is a small, but cosmopolitan, vibrant and lovely city. Great restaurants, museums, galleries, shops, theatre, the Thermae Spa baths, hot springs, walks or cycle rides along the canal or river, balloon rides, always something going on, a wonderful dry and sunny climate make this lovely city a great holiday destination. Near Mews Cottage there are several pubs (many provide good food), local shops, parks, even a supermarket, within a 10 min. walk.

Terms and Conditions, Cancellation etc.;
Included in the rental price;
Self catering accommodation in a three bedroom house which sleeps a maximum of 5 people, electricity, gas, water, normal cleaning, linen, towels, free ethernet/ WiFi/web access & parking.
Arrival and departure times:
These are normally; arrival after 4pm and departure by 11am to allow time for cleaning and preparation of the property for you on change-over days. Other times may be possible, by negotiation.
Provisional bookings can be made by telephone or e- mail.
Payment of the deposit constitutes acceptance of the booking conditions.
The balance of payment is due at least 1 month before the start of the booking.
The availability calendar is updated daily, or more frequently.
Once I have received your booking deposit, your booking will be confirmed; I will send a letter or e-mail of confirmation/receipt of payment to you, with some information about the house, key collection, location, etc.
If a hirer wishes to cancel their booking then we will make every effort to re-let the property. If we do re-let the property we will refund the amount received less the deposit.
There is admin charge of £60 for all cancellations and in addition the following conditions apply when cancelling 8 weeks or less before your arrival date;
4-8 weeks – 50% of deposit refunded if we are not able to re-let the booked period.
2-4 weeks – 25% of rate refunded if we are not able to re-let the booked period.
Less than 2 weeks – no refund if we are not able to re-let the booked period.
We recommend that the hirer takes out cancellation insurance against the possibility of cancellation by them due to travel disruption or any other such problems.
The owner accepts no liability to any hirer or tenant party member for any personal injury, loss or damage to property, however sustained or caused, nor for the loss or theft of property or money.
The hirer is responsible for the property and undertakes to take all reasonable care of it. To keep it secure and in a clean and tidy condition and to report any breakages or damage immediately to the owner and to make adequate payment to cover loss.
Under no account can the prescribed number of persons per property be exceeded, unless pre-arranged.
The owners and or their representative retain the right to enter the property at any time (for emergency purposes).
Linen: Rental of the property includes freshly laundered bed linen: sheets, pillowcases and duvet covers (not cot linen) Towels are provided. For bookings of more than one week then fresh bedding will be provided.
Any complaint arising should be brought to the owners attention immediately so that we can investigate and endeavour to rectify.
While every effort is made to provide the amenities advertised, no liability will fall on the owners should restrictions be applied in the event of floods, power cuts or any other circumstances outside the control of the owner.

Character and comfort
Very much enjoyed our short stay. Walk into town was fine and convenient supermarket closer. Jon was very accommodating about bag pick up. Brilliant everything-you-need-to-know doc sent in advance. Very organised!
Our family of 5 enjoyed the Mews, it was very nicely decorated and kitchen fully equipped. Beds were comfortable and the view great! One bathroom required some logistics but it worked with parents, 2 teenage boys and me the grandmother! Nice walk to the center of bath but it is quite hilly coming back so a taxi maybe a good idea if no car. Jon left lots of places to eat and good directions to all. Supermarket is a five minute walk downhill. Would definitely recommend it and would stay again on my next trip.
Bath City Break
Lovely town house within walking distance of the city centre. Comfortable and clean with the amenities you would expect. My car was to big for the bay but there was always space on the road outside. Good base for the Somerset area as well as walks into Bath. Very nice place.
Good location for sightseeing Bath and Christmas shopping
The mews house is well located for central Bath and provides comfortable accomodation for up to 5 people. It is positioned at the top of a steep hill, so if you are planning to walk to and from the centre, be prepared for the return climb (low or flat shoes advised!). There is off road parking for one car but the driveway is very steep and we scraped the bottom of the car whilst manoevering! There is street parking available but you may have to walk a little way.
The views from the property, over the valley and the garden at the rear are great and it would be a lovely spot in the Summer.
As we were 5 adults, the only downside was that there is only one bathroom/toilet.
We really enjoyed our weekend stay and would recommend Bath for a short break as it has sightseeing, shopping, good night-life and a great variety of places to eat.
We spent a lovely few days in Mews Cottage at half term. Our expectations were exceeded: the photos do not do the cottage justice as the accomodation is roomer than it looks on the website. The views are lovely and the street is quiet.The kitchen is well equipped and, phew, there is a great dishwasher! Everything was lovely and clean and we were delighted with the cottage!
We did walk into town once, but with three kids in tow we found the buses from the London Road (Snow Hill stop or just outside Morrisons) very convenient and kids travelled free at half term! It is worth getting a family ticket on the buses as this si good value if you are planning more than two bus rides in the day.
Of course we visited the Baths, but also No1 Royal Crescent, which was fun with lots of children's activities. Victoria Park was great, and the children's playground is a must. We walked there, but there are buses to it along the main road.
We would definitely recommend Mews Cottage: lovely accomodation, good location and great service and advice from Jon!
Great property; short walk from sights
We were very impressed with this property having stayed in various properties in Bath, the rooms are a good size and the living area is very comfortable with great views.
The walk into the town was not too taxing, just save some energy for the uphill on the way home!
Booking and communications were really easy and information provided was of a high standard.
Activity and Interests
Mews Cottage is about 15 minutes walk from the main shopping area of Bath, in a pleasant residential area known as Lower Camden, on the Western side of Bath city centre.
You have your own off street parking and further free on street parking.
Only 5 minutes walk to the nearest shops, supermarket, pubs or restaurants it is very conveniently located.
The spacious sunny lounge has great views and comfortable 2 & 3 seater sofas. WiFi internet throughout, TV, DVD player, CD/radio, with iPod connection. Dining table that can seat 6. A stylish, quirky room that is very relaxing.
The main bedroom has a quality double bed, wardrobe and a chest of drawers.
2nd bedroom with quality twin beds, wardrobe and a chest of drawers.
3rd bedroom with a single bed and chest of drawers.
There's a cosy bathroom with thermostatic shower over the bath, and a character porthole window.
Stylish well fitted separate galley kitchen. Equipment includes, electric cooker and hob with extractor fan, fridge with freezer compartment, dishwasher, washing machine, microwave, kettle, toaster, cafeteria and all the usual cooking utensils and pans etc.
A baby's cot, high chair, ironing board, iron (and even soft water for the iron) and a hair-dryer are all provided.
Laundered, quality cotton sheets and duvet covers, and towels are provided at the start of your stay. The property is professionally cleaned prior to your arrival.
