Only 1 hours drive from the capitol Reykjavík and 1,5 hours from the Keflavik International airport.
This is a first time rental of our special Golden Circle cottage. Equipped in total luxury, great kitchen to cook in.
Don´t miss out on the fascinating experience the Golden Circle Cottage gives you. You can drive for few minutes and walk around the world-famous Geysir geothermal area, a geothermal field where hot springs are in abundance, geysers explode and pools of mud bubble.
You could stop by the magnificent Gullfoss waterfall and visit Þingvellir national park, the original site of the oldest existing parliament in the world. There the great Atlantic rift is clearly visible, a rift that is slowly pulling Iceland apart along tectonic plates.
And when you come home in the evening you can relax in the Natural Hot Tub. In winter time you can stay in the Hut Tub and enjoy the Northern Lights dancing our cottage.
All perfect! in the middle of all the attractions.
After a warm welcome of Ellen and Steini, the owners of the cottage, we had a wonderful stay in their cottage. The cottage has all the luxury you need and the surrounding is beautiful with a lot of privacy. After our daily trips within Iceland's nature coming home to the cottage we enjoyed cooking in the kitchen and watching one of the movies of the extensive library.
Stayed here for a week, great location to visit golden circle and south coast area. Cottage very comfortable and well equipped, with plenty of room for a family of 4 - teenagers particularly happy with the wifi and hot tub - which we used every day! Ellen & Steini gave us a warm welcome and car hire through Gestur was very good, ideal for the roads in April. Iceland has a fantastic variety of natural wonders - mountains, waterfalls, black beach, geysers etc and lots of wildlife to see right outside the house.
Gestur, Steini and Ellen,
Just say a huge "Thank You" to you all.
We have stayed in numerous self catering cottages in Scotland and abroad in Italy over the years and have never been so welcomed on our arrival...Amazing!
We had a fantastic week in your cottage (so homely and warm) which felt like our second home and enjoyed all of our hours in the " hot-pot" and out and about around south western Iceland. What a great island you have.
I'm sure we will return in the camper van, but look to have a few days at your cottage ( by the way the pool at Borg was great, thanks Steini).
Thanks again...see you soon!

The cottage is immaculately clean and user-friendly for a family or two couples. Lovely peaceful situation in the heather heath meaning lots of lovely birds frequent the area. And the location is fantastic from which to explore SW Iceland. We loved the hot tub and the views and deck. Highly recommended.
We also hired the 4x4 via Gestur which was excellent value and extremely easy for pick up and drop off. Would definitely do that again.
Thanks to Steini, Ellen and Gestur for the very warm welcome after a long night of traveling. Thanks also for driving us to an adjacent property that our parents rented. It was greatly appreciated! The cottage was conveniently located, well equipped, clean and comfortable. We loved the decks, &were so happy to have use of a laundry room after an especially muddy hike at the Geyser. Thanks also for directing us to the Kronan grocery store in Selfoss, better selection than the Bonus stores. Highly recommend staying here. We didn't want to come home!

GEYSIR:
This world famous spouting hot spring is actually the source for the English word “Geyser”. That alone should tell you how impressive it is considered. However, Geysir is getting a little tired and erupts less frequently these days. No need to worry, though, since Geysirs´ little brother Strokkur spouts every 10 minutes or so shooting up water and steam 25-30 meters high
GULLFOSS (GOLDEN WATERFALL):
Iceland’s most famous waterfall is actually two separate waterfalls. The upper one is a drop of 11 meters and the lower one is 21 meters. Together it makes Europe´s largest waterfall that plunges 32 meters into a steep-sided canyon. The spray creates small rainbows over the gorge on sunny days which makes the scenery even more memorable.
THINGVELLIR - NATIONAL PARK:
Thingvellir national park is a UNESCO World Heritage and is definitely one of the most interesting places in Iceland. Being the original site of the longest-running parliament of the world, a place where one can visualize the North American and European continental shelf plates are being torn apart and the great geological landscape are just some reasons why you should stop by at Thingvellir.
And when you come home in the evening you can relax in the Natural Hot Tub. In winter time you can stay in the NATURAL HOT TUB and enjoy the Northern Lights dancing over our cottage.
