House views are magnificent, loved it. Large enough for our combined family and easy access to train station . Well furnished with exception of main carpet, needs replaced. Initially only one towel per person and duvets too heavy for summer months.

Overall, house was perfect though certainly not handicap accessible for wheelchairs.

Would certainly recommend for a large family holiday. Easy visits to most attractions.

The Fife region

Burntisland is an established Summer holiday destination for Scottish holiday makers.

There are over 30 Golf Courses within a 40 minute drive.

Fife: the royal burgh, famous for its history, fishing villages, and golf courses. With Falkland Palace, St Andrews Abbey and Dunfermline Abbey, Fife has a wealth of history to discover. The East Neuk of Fife, with its fishing villages, including Aberdour, Kinghorn, Leven, Elie, Pittenweem, Anstruther, Crail and St Andrews as well as Burntisland itself. Most have sandy beaches and houses with pantiles roofs and old harbours and are a tourist's delight. St Andrews is renowned as “the home of golf” and a trip to visit the Old Course is a must, or choose from one of forty-six courses in this county.

The Burntisland area

The home of the Scottish royals and renowned for championship golf courses, the Kingdom of Fife is a beautiful rural retreat. From impressive historic ruins to bustling seaside towns and a scenic coastline, Fife has much to offer. The rugged cliffs are home to some magnificent and varied wildlife providing a haven for ramblers and wildlife enthusiasts. Some local highlights include: Deep Sea World; Falkland Palace; Dunfermline Abbey; Knockhill kart and Formula 3 racing; Aberdour Castle; Edinburgh; Edinburgh Castle; Fishing at Loch Leven. Burntisland has a particularly scenic golf course on the hillside looking over the bay to Arthur’s Seat. Aberdour and Kinghorn golf courses are all within two miles. The Beacon Leisure Centre with swimming pool, flumes and wave machine is next door.
