About the property

1 bedroom, ensuite bathroom, eat in kitchen and glorious garden. Very peaceful.

In a secluded secret garden, this outstandingly elegant garden house has all you could desire for a London holiday. Free fibre-optic wifi 160 mbps. Washer-dryer. Furnished with fine Georgian antique furniture, it is a very unique and personal space.

This small flat is completely private and self contained. It is however attached to a studio which my daughter and I use occasionally as an art studio.

Check in is normally from 3.30 pm and check out by 11.00am. You can arrive, by arrangement, from midday to leave your bags or sit in the garden whilst the cleaner prepares the apartment.

Close to the centre and transport links. A wonderful romantic location for a holiday.

The bedroom is spacious enough to include a sofa, all overlooking the tranquillity of the garden and pond.

The kitchen is filled with unusual details, and includes a dining area to seat five.

The paved area by the pond has exclusive use, but the main grassed area is shared with the main house, although it is very rare for anyone to use it. The lower floor of the main house has it's own private patio area, screened by plants from your view. This flat shares the access through the garden door.

The small flat is very luxurious, with a high quality king sized bed (US queen size, 5 foot wide), and charming antique furniture.

We are only 4 or 5 minutes walk from the Caledonian Road tube on the Piccadilly line. This is by far the most convenient underground line for access to the major museums and galleries of London and a direct line to Heathrow Airport (one hour). Here's a little chart:

2 stops to Russell square: British Museum.

4 stops to Covent Garden: National Gallery, National Portrait Gallery, Somerset House (Courtauld Gallery), Sir John Soane Museum, Theatre area.

6 stops to Piccadilly Circus: Royal Academy. Shopping in Bond Street etc..

7 stops to Green Park: Spencer House, Princess Diana's family's 18th c House (quite amazing, only open Sunday afternoons, so book in advance). The Ritz hotel for tea, and across Green Park to Buckingham Palace.

10 stops to South Kensington: V&A, Science, and Natural History Museum. Hyde park.

However for Tate Modern, or Britain, you have to change lines.

It takes about 2 minutes per stop.

There's also a bus stop 200 metres from the flat.

There are many local restaurants, and bars. The nearest is Shillibeers, about 200 metres away, and great for informal eating, drinking and dancing.

'What a great place- I can't recommend enough! We could hardly bear to leave.

We booked Hartham Road for a birthday weekend for my partner. We had wanted to take a cottage in the country but one of our friends had to be in London so we thought we would try and find a piece of the country in London.

So what a bit of luck to find an an extraordinary artists studio converted, by a labour of love, into a cottage built in a C-Shape around a delightful Arcadian garden [complete with pond, folly and sculpture].

The house has a wonderful cosy back bedroom, clean and well appointed bathroom, an eat in kitchen [with great china] and a lovely window seat .

It is also incredibly peaceful. Sat in the studio or garden you would have no clue you were five minutes from Caledonian Road Tube. It would be the ideal balm to a day seeing the sites in London G and T's on the terrace, cosy dinner in the kitchen and drift away in the bedroom.

It is one of those places so good you only want to recommend to your really good friends - so shh- don't tell anyone unless they are really special.'

About Andrew WILLIAMS

I am an artist living in London and the Cotswolds. I have 27 year old twins, Raphy and Milla, who along with me, look after this holiday flat.

My twins and I occasionally use the main room as an art studio, and so may have a chance to get to know visitors. This room is private and so not part of the rental, and the holiday flat is also completely self contained and private.

Why Andrew WILLIAMS chose Camden & Covent Garden

I hope it speaks for itself. If this was a suite in a hotel, you would pay much more, although I doubt you would ever find anything like this. I have tried to arrange for every comfort from having a TV that can be watched either from the sofa or in bed, to providing goose down pillows on a very luxurious bed. The eating area is very cosy and you can invite friends to dine with you inside, or eat out on the terrace. There is a fridge with a freezer box, and a washer dryer.

Also there is plenty of storage space, so if you plan a long stay you will find this flat very easy to live in.

What makes this apartment unique

Luxury, comfort, peace and beauty characterise this unique location. The flat is filled with many unusual antique objects collected over a lifetime.

The peaceful garden is a haven after a day spent in the city.

Wifi speeds are up to 160 mbps. Out of London I am lucky to get 5 mbps. I know how important this can be for business visitors.

There is a smart TV, so you will be able to watch your local home news if you select the appropriate link. Netflix is also available on the TV.

There is a washer dryer useful for longer stays.

The Piccadilly line station, Caledonian Road is only a few minutes away. This is the best line for many main tourist destinations.

THE MAIN ROOM OF THE STUDIO IS USED BY ME and my son and daughter AS AN ART STUDIO, SO WILL OCCASIONALLY BE USED DURING WORKING HOURS. We are always very respectful of your privacy, and will not disturb you unless called upon. The garden has a private patio but the central lawn is shared with the garden flat of the main house, which also has it's own private terraced area.

Wonderful place to stay.

We had a fantastic week in London staying in this flat. It was very easy to get to the Underground on the Piccadilly line. The flat was very comfortable, great kitchen, full bathroom and there were flowers and a cake there to welcome us. Communication with Mr. Williams was easy and he was very quick to respond to any request. I would highly recommend this Home Away.

A pleasant rustic apartment in the Holloway area. Our host and his daughter were delightful people

Although this was advertised as an apartment suitable for two people we were assisted by Andy who provided a small bed for our granddaughter as we were looking after her for the school holidays.

We discovered that the shower did not have a very good water pressure, and the paths could be slippery in wet weather, but the studio apartment had all we needed for cooking and washing for the extended period of our stay.

Owner's Response: It was a great pleasure having the extra 8 year old guest who made pots with my daughter, and fired them in her small kiln in the studio. The shower is a new combination boiler that delivers hot water directly from the boiler. They never can have the same volume of flow as a system boiler.

Magical oasis in London

We spent a week at this lovely apartment that is full of antiques and original artwork. The garden is beautiful, full of flowers, trellised roses, a fountain, and interesting architectural artifacts. We found returning to the property so refreshing after a day full of sightseeing! We had dinner and drinks at the nearby pub one night. The neighborhood is quiet and mostly residential but there were lots more dining options within one or two tube stops in either direction. The tube station is only a 5 minute walk away, on the Piccadilly line, so very convenient to get to most of London's sites. We really enjoyed our stay here!

Beautiful cottage, great location!

First off I have to say that Andy was a wonderful host, very accommodating and responsive. The cottage was so cozy, clean and fully stocked. The location is very quiet and safe, not a lot of restaurants etc in the immediate area but only a five minute walk to the tube with King's Cross one stop away that has every restaurant, bar and shop you can imagine. As a single woman traveling alone I'd much prefer the safe and quiet neighborhood to stay in.

LOVED my stay here and would highly recommend it to a single person or couple.
