Casa Charo sits in a beautifully-kept garden that stretches well back off the road to form a peaceful oasis around the pool in the back garden. While the pool is not fenced, the back garden can be separated from the front garden by gates on either side of the house. The house’s fittings are of a high quality throughout. Rooms are spacious, there is a central heating / air conditioning system as well as an open fire. The pool (10x6m) is visible from the house and terrace, where there is an outside dining table for eight and a built-in BBQ.

Accommodation is in two floors. The living area is open-plan (dining room, sitting, room, and kitchen), and opens on to the pool terrace. The kitchen opens on to the sitting room but also has views of the front garden. There is a downstairs bathroom, with shower and WC. Upstairs there are 3 bedrooms 2 bathrooms. The 4th bedroom/shower room is located in a separate building on the far side of the pool, Certainly not luxurious, but Ideal for teenagers.

The area, La Barrosa, offers a broad selection of bars, restaurants and shops, all within walking distance. The beach at the end of the road stretches away 6km to the south where it finishes at Roche and the Calas de Conil.; or, if you walk north (pines and beach), you will come to the old tuna-fishing port at Sancti Petri, where there is now a small marina (watersports hire available) and a number of traditional bars and restaurants. There are two tennis clubs and various golf courses within 5 km.

About the Owner

We are a husband-wife team that left Madrid for Spain’s deep south and a change of ...well, virtually everything really! We came up with the idea of Dos Xtremos in 2006, the catalyst being the need to increase the number of people renting our own properties, one in La Coruña and the other in Cadiz (Atlantic Spain’s two wonderful extremes). And since then, even though the business has grown (we now manage a number of properties for other owners), our goal has always been the same: “these are two wonderful and relatively undeveloped areas of Spain that have brought us enormous happiness; so let’s try and tell other people about them!” We put a heavy focus on regional information and on the activities that we enjoy, both individually and as a family with young children.

Casa Charo was what we expected. The house has a fantastic garden and pool that we all enjoyed and it is very close to the beach. There are lots of nice bars/beach bars and restaurants walking distance. Andrew was always very helpful.

A glimpse of Paradise

Where do you start to describe a property that's as close to Paradise as you will find anywhere on the Iberian Peninsula? Casa Charo certainly lived up to all the promises made on the website - a rare thing these days. From first contact with the managers, Andrew & Maria, to the last day of our 10 day stay we could not fault the service we were given.

Andrew kept in touch throughout our stay and was very helpful with recommending good restaurants or places to visit. The villa itself was spotless, equipped to a very high standard and in a perfect location. There are several small but excellent restaurants on the nearby beachfront, our favourite being Amore, run by a Dublin native. His Mojito's are a perfect accompaniment to the excellent steaks and fish dishes.

We would have no hesitation recommending this property or location to anyone looking for a quiet, relaxing holiday away from the noisy clubs and bars of the more popular resorts...but you will need a car

nice place

We stayed for 14 days at Villa Kasa Charo, together with our 2 children 7,9 years old, and we loved it! The villa is fully equipped and located in the perfect place. Only 2-3 minutes walk to the beautiful beach and 1 minute to mini market. It’s all there, for a day at the beach, playing in and around the pool or just enjoy cooking a fine meal. This place has so much to offer. Nature, culture, and sympathetic people.

Andrew is one of them, he was very nice and helpful

Lovely property, fantastic pool, perfect location

The house and gardens were very well presented, everything was in good condition. The kitchen and the outdoor barbecue had everything needed to cater at home.

The pool was great, the children loved it (though at Easter they did wear wetsuits!). There was also lots of outdoor space for them to run around in.

The owners Andrew and Maria were really helpful and welcoming. They were easy to contact and contacted us to check things were going well. They have lots of knowledge about the area that they were pleased to share which really added to our holiday. They arranged local bike hire which was a nice way to explore (it is an easy area to cycle around).

Our favourite thing about "Casa Charo" was probably the location. It was so nice to be able to be at the beach in a couple of minutes. The beach is enormous, and with bars overlooking climbing frame and swings in the sand both adults and children were happy! There are several good places to eat very nearby. Again, the owners gave us good recommendations.

Overall, we would recommend a visit to the property and would definitely rent again or another from Andrew and Maria's Dos Extremos company.

Chasa Charo a real winner

Chasa Charo was a real winner for our group of 6 people from Berlin.

A house where you immediately feel at home. Its interior was decorated with taste and obvious love to detail with a terrace and a pool that left no wishes open.

The beach at La Barossa (3 min leisurely stroll) was

fantastic and the swimming in the Atlantic was am amazing experience.

A huge thank you to our agents Maria and Andrew who by far exceeded any service level previously known to us with their attentive help. We will definitely see each other again.

We loved this place

This Villa was a fantastic find, we loved this place. Great garden, pool and perfect location for peace and quiet yet only a short walk to good restaurants and café. We took the short drive to Tarifa for whale watching, Chiclana for the market and Jerez for the waterpark. Most days were ended with a glass of wine watching the sun go down before heading out for some of the best Spanish food I've had in a long while. Andrew and Maria where really helpful both before and during our stay. We will be back!

Easy drive to Jerez (sherry houses), Cádiz (possibly Europe's oldest city), Tarifa (and the boat to Tanger), the wonders of Seville, and the intriguing pueblos blancos (white villages), including Vejer-de-la-Frontera. This is the Spain of fighting bulls and flamenco, ferias and finos, and fine simple food. Visit the Roman ruins at Baelo Claudio, the lighthouse at Cape Trafalgar, the old tuna fishing port of Sancti Petri. 30% of the province of Cádiz is National Park, and here you will find green rolling hills, more akin to Ireland or Wales but divided by giant cactus hedges, one of the world's most important cork forests, and a micro climate within the Alcornocales park that is regarded as the last Mediterranean jungle.

Easy walk to a number of good restaurants right on the beach (including the famous Los Pescadores), as well as bars, a chemist, minimarket, newsagent, hot bread, etc. There is an excellent children's playground at the end of the road in the sand!
