Cornwall Mews South is a charming two bed apartment situated on a secluded cobbled mews close to the Gloucester Road. A peaceful and tranquil location tucked away in the heart of Kensington, this home is a long-standing favourite amongst our guests for its situation and style, with an elegant and warm interior, it is the perfect rental for couples, or a small family.

Living & Eating

Extremely pleasant open plan living and dining space, warmly decorated and conducive to relaxation with two sofas, an armchair and occasional tables decorated in classical style. The large dining table comfortably seats six. The separate fully equipped kitchen with range of cooking appliances invites use after a long day's sightseeing.

Bedrooms & Bathrooms

The master bedroom boasts a king-size bed (5ft wide), and ample wardrobe space. The second bedroom houses a single bed, and a single pullout bed to accommodate a 4th guest. There is one large and tastefully decorated bathroom with toilet, basin, bath and overhead shower.

Located on the ground floor, there are a couple of steps within the vacation rental.

On your doorstep

A five minute walk from Gloucester Road underground station (which serves both the Piccadilly and District lines) means you have quick links to the whole city, but you have masses to explore right on your doorstep too! Finding yourself in one of the city’s most enviable postcodes you really will be spoilt for choice. Take the short 5 minute walk to Kensington Gardens and you’ll be able to see Prince William and Kate’s abode, Kensington Palace, in the middle of the manicured park. Kensington Gardens border the magnificent Hyde Park with its Serpentine lake (which even has a swimming area if you’re feeling brave!) and large green spaces. Ensure to make the most of being so close to the museums of South Kensington and wile away afternoons, discovering treasures from past and present. Additionally, there are a multitude of grocery stores, ATMs, coffee shops and restaurants on your doorstep.

There are plenty of supermarkets close by including a Marks and Spencer, Waitrose and a Sainsbury's. For a friendly local pub try The Blackbird. Or if you are in the mood for something a little more bohemian then check out the world-famous Troubadour. This place has a well-deserved reputation for its fantastic cocktails, character and live music- the Mumford and Sons played here only a few years ago. Whatever your taste, this is a food-lovers dream. Maybe take in Christie’s, the globally renowned auction house, located just half a mile away. Countless legendary lots have passed through here including Audrey Hepburn’s timeless black dress from the all-time classic Breakfast at Tiffany’s, and 20 of Elton John’s cars!

In June 2012, my family of four (including two teenagers) enjoyed staying in this comfortable home, located in a perfect location right in the middle of South Kensington...easy walking distance to the tube, grocery stores, and lots of good restaurants. We stayed for two weeks in this lovely home, with two nice bedrooms, a living room, and a kitchen with washing machine. It was a perfect home base for our family to enjoy a vacation in London.

Wonderful stay at Cornwall Mews South

We enjoyed our stay in a first floor flat on Cornwall Mews South. The South Kensington location was very convenient with short distances to food markets and restaurants. Our flat was beautifully furnished and comfortable. Although the kitchen was small, it was well equipped for occasional light meal preparation. The bathroom was modern with a deep soaking tub/shower.

We recommend Ivy Lettings for vacation rentals. Their communication was clear, prompt and efficient. We thoroughly enjoyed this "home away from home" in an exciting busy city

Comfortable little apartment in great location

Terrific little apartment in a terrific location. Very comfortable for our family of four. The kitchen is very small, so don't plan on much cooking; and the second bedroom is tight, but fits two twin beds. But the master bedroom is a nice size and the living/dining room are very comfortable. The apartment is pretty, well appointed, and comfortable, and you can't beat the location. The little mews - really a garden path - on which it's located is so sweet, and pretty, and English. There are no cars on it, so we felt perfectly safe letting our children play outside, like in a backyard or garden, which was lovely. Two blocks from the tube and a short walk to museums and parks. We loved it.

very nice in a very nice area

We had a wonderful week in London. The Apartment was very nice and personal. We went out for dinners but the kitchen could need a proper cleaning. Quiet place and nice neighbours and nice restaurants in the area. We would surely come back.

The people at the Ivy-lettings office has been so kind and helpful. Thank you so much from all 4 of us

Great location, lovely apartment

Wonderful, cozy & quiet. Steps from everything

My family and I loved staying in this delightfully cozy flat over the Christmas break. It's down a quiet muse perfectly located in the Royal Borough and steps from the Gloucester Rd tube with quick access to all of London and a 10 min walk to Hyde Park.

The flat owners were even so very kind as to leave a little Christmas tree for us to have for Crimbo. As an American not all the furnishings or the setup were what is used to here, but the flat was very clean and everything was completely functional.

Ivy Lettings was a fantastic agency to use, very useful as we searched for a location and in every way helpful. Fortunately we didn't need to reach out to them during our stay for anything, but they met us at check-in and walked us through all the ins & outs of the flat and it was comforting to know we could reach them if we needed to. During the rental process we had to switch from one Ivy Lettings person to another due to a holiday and that transition was handled seamlessly.

I would definitely rent from Ivy Lettings again, and I would strongly recommend them to anyone.

Great location, easy access to museums, shopping

The apartment at Cornwall Mews that we rented for our short stay in London was pleasant and tidy, with a great location easy walking distance to shopping, museums, Hyde Park, restaurants and the Gloucester Road tube station. During our stay my wife, two daughters and I were out seeing the sites during the day and were able to come back to a cozy, pleasant apartment located in a charming neighbourhood.

World Famous Museums

The Natural History Museum, The Victoria & Albert Museum and The Science Museum are all on your doorstep. Visit the lesser known Mosaic Rooms, which hosts beautifully curated exhibits of Islamic art and culture.

Royal Gardens

Kensington Palace, home to the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, is surrounded by acres of beautiful parkland. Lay out a rug in front of the Palace gates and enjoy one of the best picnic spots in London. From Kensington High Street, walk up Kensington Palace Gardens - known as Billionaire's Row - and admire the Embassy mansions and private homes of the uber-wealthy. Take high tea (with or without Champagne) at the Kensington Orangery for the full English experience.


The Deli Bar makes a great full English breakfast. Kensington Square Kitchen is a very pretty brunch spot that celebrates British, seasonal produce. Tom's Kitchen, run by celebrity chef Tom Atkins, is another institution of British cooking and makes extraordinarily fluffy pancakes.

Lunch & Dinner

For a great bistro with a relaxed atmosphere, try Chez Patrick. Balan's of Earls Court has one of the best Sunday lunches in London. We also recommend 222 Veggie Vegan for plentiful, award-winning food.

Pubs and Bars

There's almost too many good pubs in the area. Our favourite are The Colton Arms, The Drayton Arms, The Queen's Arms or The Abingdon for a typically British local pub experience. If you want more than pint, the Harwood Arms serves Michelin starred food.

For a taste of the high-life head to Babylon at the Roof Gardens, 100m above Kensington High Street.


High Street Kensington has it all - department stores, major fashion labels and smaller boutiques tucked away up side streets.
