perfect holiday again

Our fourth time of staying at this wonderful house. Everything you could possibly want is available . The kitchen is so well equipped. Including washing machine and dishwasher. The T.V (if you have time or be bothered to watch it!) has so many stations and most available in English. The wi fi is excellence, probably better than we have at home. The house is spotless , towels for home , towels for beach and towels for sun beds. If you stay for more than a week , sue the house manager will come in ,if week to clean and replace towels and change the bedding . She is an absolute Gem . When you arrive she will always go through everything with you showing you how things work, and with top tips as to how to get around the Island , and to the village which is just 10 mins walk away .

You can sit on the terrace in the morning and watch the sun come up, and the sun stays on the terrace until late afternoon, it is perfect for outside living .

The village is just a short walk away with lots of bars and restaurants, of varying prices . The sushi /chinese restaurant on the front is great , and The Meson restaurant down by the harbour is at the other end of the price scale but something to be experienced , absolutely fantastic.

To sum up The House is perfect, spotlessly clean with everything you need, and Sue although will do anything for you she also respects your privacy .

We just wish we could bottle the whole holiday experience up and bring it home. We have already booked for next March. Dont be disappointed , book early .

Our stay 20th - 30th Aug 2016

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I arrived at the house, having been met by Sue the Site Manager. On first impression we realised straight away that our choice for the holiday was perfect for our needs. The house itself, facilities and house equipment are excellent and caters for all your needs, very clean and the area of the house is quiet and away from noise from the town. The Site Manager Sue is also excellent, there if you need her at the end of a phone or email. Readily give any hints or to tips to enhance your stay, a diamond! We certainly throughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend to anybody, and would definitely stay again. Thank you

Owner's Response: Dear Craig and Dawn Thank you for your excellent review, i have said this many times in the past, but i am always very happy to know that all was as you would want and expect. Sitting back from Arguineguin the house does offer a peacefull location, being minutes from Our lovely Town, which still gives a taste of tradition, hard to find these days; Central to busier resorts, should you want them. Our varied tapas bars and restaraunts, have a great atmosphere, at local prices, which i know you greatly enjoyed. Our beaches and coves offer peace and tranquility, again quite hard to find these days. I know you had a great time mnaking the most of all GC has to offer, and it was my pleasure to give you the tips that helped you make the most of your holiday. It will be a pleasure to have you as our guests at any time. Owner's Response: Many thanks for your lovely review We are always delighted to recieve feedback from our guests and are happy that your holiday was so enjoyable. I have to agree that Arguineguin is quite unique, and a perfect spot to take a holiday with a traditional flair, a Coastal Village that still retains its heritage and charm, and unspoiled by mass tourism. A property that has all that you require for a great break.

  • 5 of 5

On arrival we were met by Sue who showed us around the apartment and how everything worked. If you had any problems with anything, summon the expert Sue and she sorted it out,no problem. If you wanted to know where to go or where to eat the information was available, just ask Sue. We found that the apartment was equipped with all your needs to cook, towels to sun bath on the beds provided even towels for the beach. The apartment was very clean and tidy and was maintained during our stay.We would recommend this apartment for a couple who want their own space and privacy.

We chose not to hire a car, just use the local and very reasonable priced buses. The taxis have there prices regulated and are shown on the meters, like Sue the drivers are very helpful. The walks down to the sea and back require you to be fairly active.Once down on the front are great restaurants and bars to sit and view the sunset. We will be returning soon with a provisional booking already been made.

Excellent stay

  • 4 of 5

We were very warmly greeted by Sue who is an excellent booking / house manager, nothing is too much trouble and your every need will be catered for as humanly possible.

The house is absolutely spotless , comfortable and well equipped, with washing up liquid, ,dish cloths, toilet rolls and tea towels, bath towels and beach towels .

Sue is always on hand to help and advise on any thing you might want to know or need ,maps information on the area and local restaurants etc etc.

There is a terrace with comfortable loungers and chairs to look at the view over towards the mountain and neighbouring valley, very pretty at night.

If you were being picky, The mattresses could have been a bit more comfortable there were toppers on them, but my personal preference is one a bit softer., these is no wifi, and no British TV..

Sue's meticulous attention to detail ensures that your stay will be if the very highest standard in all aspects, any thing that might need attention will be be dealt with..

There are many restaurants nearby we liked the Italian Caio and resturant Rossini, was good but a lot to choose from so again it's personal preference.

It's very easy to get about as the bus service is very cheap and frequent to get just about anywhere on the island , also the taxis are very plentiful and cheap , car hire nearby too so the choice is your to get to any of the nice beaches and resorts along the coastline.

All information and descriptions were totally accurate.

I would recommend this lovely holiday rental to any one.

Owner's Response: Mny thanks for your recent review maralyn& Norman It was a pleasure to have you for an extended three week stay at the house ;The owner and myself are very happy that you had a lovely holiday here on our beautiful island of Gran Canaria and enjoyed our glorious weather Arguineguin and your occasional evenings sittting on the terrace, with as you say our lovely views. Unfortunatly Gran Canaria is a spanish speaking island, and to far from the uk to supply you with British television; our canal digital offers all the latest films and USA series in English and uk sky news but unfortunatly not your UK soaps etc; We have been experiencing some difficulty with the internet in GC, but can assure you our wifi is working perfectly for our guests. From the Owner

Chosen for its peaceful and central location, close to the towns beaches and coves, and all surrounding tourist areas,( eg Playa del Ingles/ Maspalomas, Amadores Beach, Mogan, Puerto Rico & Tauro golf ,all are within an 11 minute drive, making this an ideal base from which to see our island paradise. The private and spacious sun terrace has lovely open views. The area and the property are of a very high standard. A luxurious fully equiped kitchen, and carefully chosen furnishings.. The owners holiday in the property themselves, so the attention to detail is very high. carefull thought has been put into every detail to offer privacy, with security comfort.and luxury.( The property is redecorated and updated every year, and maintained weekly.)

Activity and Interests

Nearest Airport : LAS PALMAS at 46.6 Kilometres Nearest Barpub : ANCORA CENTER 5 MINS walk Nearest Golf : SALOBRE OR TAURO at 1 Kilometres Nearest Restaurant : Ancora center and town Car: recommended

Arguineguin is a charming fishing town, famous for its sun sets with peacefull beaches and coves, unspoiled and not an overcrowded tourist area. Busy Major resorts such as puerto rico, maspalomas, playa del ingles, meloneras, san agustin, are all within 15 minutes drive or less. The new highway extension allows you to be in Puerto Mogan in several minutes, making this a unique and peacefull base, with easy access to all busy resorts.PUERTO RICO MOGAN TAURO GOLF, AND A SHORT DRIVE TO PLAYA DEL INGLES AND MASPALOMAS.

Our harbor area with its own curved beach is circled by local bars, street caf'es, restaraunts, and local tapas bars .Arguineguin and the house are ideal for walkers, cyclists and active people; The beautiful coastal path walk to patalavaca, and beyond,is easily reached a few minutes from the house, having a further choice of beaches, coves, bars and resturaunts, leading you to the caribean sands of Anfi beach.

The town attracts all nationalities, making eating out a great experience at very reasonable prices. There is a local market on Tuesday one of the largest on the island, and a few mins from the house on thursday morning is a local market. A regular bus service takes you to all surrounding areas, including the capital of Las Palmas where you can wander amongst the old town of Veguetta, visiting historical sites including the house of Columbus. Vegueta has a cosmopolitan selection of high end shops as well, and is oposite the sea and international real yacht club , exploring this safe capital independently is fun. In November Las Palmas hosts the ARC yacht rally, evening parties are held for everyone to enjoy. February is carnival time in the capital on a Rio style celebration, it also visits Arguineguin, and makes for a great atmosphere. Gay pride is also a huge hit in Maspalomas during late April early May, .We also have many local festivals throughout the year. Our local Ancora center has a lot to offer both day and night for food and live entertainment in the winter high season ,and is only 5 mins walk from the house. Water parks, and animal parks with dolphin displays, are also easily reached, but a days car hire would be an advantage, if you love walking, there is plenty of opportunity close to the house, the lovely mountains have gentle hikes or hard walks, The norwegien community walk here every day through the winter high season, october to may, the weather being a balmy 24 on average, raising to 28 in the following months. The area is blessed with a gentle breeze in the summer months.

From the Owner

After taking many holidays abroad, we chose Gran canaria as our second home, because of the all year round climate, which is not to hot in the summer, and lovely summer weather in the winter. Not wanting a typical tourist area, we prefered a peacefull place to relax but within easy reach of the busy resorts, such as Mogan, Paya del Ingles/ Tauro golf etc, should we want to visit them. Our family also wanted unspoiled and peacefull coves, uncrowded beaches, mountain and coastal walks, with a good selection of restaraunts and sunset bars, a little of everything, so we chose Arguineguin, we hope you enjoy our home, Arguineguin and Gran canaria for your holidays, as much as we do.
