A lovely stay in beautiful surroundings
My wife and I had a lovely stay at Joar's home. The house is situated in perfect surroundings for anybody who is looking for a quiet retreat and beautiful, in fact, stunning nature. Joar and his wife were extremely helpful. They were right there for any question we had. Joar helped us a lot in planning our hikes. There is nothing like local knowledge. The home is simply furnished but has everything you need. And the fjord fills the view from the windows from every corner of the house.

Beautiful authentic house, with great view
The house is an old fashion house, but very well equipped! The view outside is beautiful and the walks in the area are wonderful. The weather was good and we could sit outside. The owner was very friendly and helpfull. If you like an authentic house with a quit area and beautiful view, this is a perfect house! We loved our stay there very much. Wim & Jeanet

Quiet and authentic stay in a beautiful place
Authentic, quiet house at a beautiful spot in a little village on the Sognefjord. The house is well equipped (dishwasher, oven, tv, dvd player etc). Some of it is a bit dated, but there is everything you need and the furniture and wallpapers from different time periods are also charming. You are staying on the farm of Joar and Ingrid who are very friendly and willing to help when you need anything. The area is quite remote, so you really need to bring your walking boots and trekking-poles to explore the mountains around the village. There's a gorgeous waterfall and some stunning viewpoints over the fjord and the village. Daytrips outside the village include Bergen (2,5 hrs by car), the lovely town of Vik with its beautiful Stave church (1,5 hrs by ferry), the Glaciers of Fjaerdal (30 mins by ferry and then another 2 hrs by car). But hiking in the mountains really is the main attraction here. Good value for money.

Nice place and house
The place was deep in a fyjord, surrounded by hills and sea. It was very quite and beautiful. There were several hiking courses which I learned from the owner. Though we had two small kids, we could easily select several hiking courses so that all of us enjoyed. Lakes hidden in the mountains are must-see-places. They are beautiful and quiet and almost mysterious. We visited Vik one day by ferry, which was a good tour of fyjord. The weather was mostly fine but it became quite cold in the morning. We enjoyed using a fire place in the house in the occasion. The stay was very relaxing.

A nice old house, a fine place to stay
A nice old house with enough space for us to stay. The house is old, but has everything you need to stay (although the washing machine is old, small and has low spinning so it takes some time to dry) and the wifi is poor. Lot's of opportunities for hiking in the area, and also to go with the ferry to the other side. The house is in Ortnevik (we thought it was in Bjordal) at the end of a road. Joar is a very friendly and helpfull guy, and is easy to reach. We recommend this house for a stay.

This is the house where my grandparents and kids lived, after they bought the farm in the early 1930`s.
Later my father took over , and from 1991 I took over this small farm.
This has been my home more or less my whole life, and I am pleased with that..:-)
Best regards Joar
