South Chesthill Estate is located in Glenlyon in Perthshire, Scotland and comprises three properties available as holiday lets all year round, with or without sport included. If you would like the price of sport included, please get in touch and I would be delighted to let you know the rates.

Both properties are comfortably furnished, completely private and have stunning views. Chesthill House is the principle property on the estate, sleeping 16 in 7 twin rooms, 1 single room and 1 ensuite room on the ground floor, suitable for the chef. Gardener’s Cottage sleeps 4, with 1 double room and 1 twin room.

The estate offers stunning hills for walking, some of the most formidable deer stalking in Scotland (c.140 stags and hinds per year), some of the most varied salmon fishing in Scotland (four miles of the river Lyon, average 89 salmon over last three years), trout fishing and escorted nature days. Pony trekking, golf, and water sports are also all available in the area, making Glen Lyon the perfect country getaway. Recover from the hustle and bustle of everyday life in the peaceful landscape of the glen and enjoy a very comfortable stay in the estate’s accommodation.

Notes:

  • The estate enjoys over 4½ miles of single and double bank fishing and 32 pools on the river Lyon. We have caught an average of 89 salmon per year over the last three years. Stag, red deer and roe deer stalking is available in season. We can provide a stalker, rifle and ammunition. Nature walks can be arranged with Hamish, the estate keeper, with the chance to see Red Deer (option to “stalk” deer to get as close as possible for a photo), Ptarmigan (fitness required to climb to top of hill!), Black cock, Grouse, Golden Eagles; Buzzards; Osprey (on river); Otters (on river), Golden Plover; Snipe (if wet), and red squirrels. Visits to the beautiful hill Loch can be arranged with a picnic and the opportunity to fish both from the bank and the rowing boat. All are an additional fee and are subject to availability.
