The accommodation consists of a very spacious, open-plan living/dining/kitchen area freshly decorated and furnished in neutral colours with sofa, armchairs, small tables and cabinets. Flat screen TV and DVD player are provided. For comfort and convenience a cloakroom is situated downstairs. The large terrace opens off the living room, complete with a table and chairs for 6. In one direction there are distant views to the sea and in the other the lights of Motovun, the prettiest of the hill towns, can be seen twinkling in the twilight. The terrace overlooks small family farms with their vineyards and olive groves that have changed little since Roman times. The kitchen is well-equipped with fridge/freezer, oven, washing machine, dish washer and coffee maker. An iron and ironing board are provided as are all towels, bed and kitchen linen. Upstairs are three bedrooms, one a master en-suite with a double bed and balcony, and 2 good-sized twin-bedded rooms, plus a bathroom (tub+shower).

Peach Villa enjoys the advantage of being next to the swimming pool and pool furniture is provided. There are two car-parking spaces in front of the house. Low cost flights operate to Trieste (45 minutes away) and Pula (60 minutes away) from Stansted airport in the U.K.

In Porec you can see some interesting buildings such as the Euphrates’ Basilica, and there is a nice beach, restaurants, and many interesting events. The area is ideal for keen cyclists and walkers, and we strongly recommend a visit to the local cave. Inland there are several interesting medieval towns amongst the picturesque hills, such as Motovun, where the prominent Motovun Film Festival is held each year at the end of July, and Hum, which is considered to be the smallest city in the world. Driving the wine routes enables you to visit the local taverns and enjoy excellent traditional cuisine and authentic quality wines.

Highly recommended, wonderful holidays!

  • 5 of 5

Never been to Istria or even Croatia before so it felt like a bit of an

adventure. Really suprised to find what variety it offered from the impressive

remains of a huge Roman ampitheatre in Pula, to the best medieval wall

paintings we'd ever seen in a small chuch in the middle of nowhere, to the

UNESCO World Heritage sight of St. Euphrasia's church in Porec. Plus you can

nip over the border to Italy or Slovenia in half an hour or so. Really very

handy! The villa itself is well-furnished and equipped, immaculately clean and

well-maintained - just generally comfortable and relaxing. Its position next to

the pool defintiely provides an advantage... Watching the sun set from the

terrace while drinking the local wine is just magic. The management company,

Centrix, is unusually helpful and responsive to enquiries or requests for help.

Made all the difference. We liked it so much in 2011 that we came back in 2012.

Highly recommended!!

Peaceful beauty, ideal for exploring Istria

  • 5 of 5

This property is well appointed and equipped, nothing we needed was not provided. The maintainance of the house, the surrounding land and the pool is to a high standard. We hired a car from a Croatian firm which was very reasonable and enabled us to explore Istria and take advantage of some excellent local restaurants. There are supermarkets a short drive away for self catering purposes. Information provided at the Villa was very useful.

When not exploring it was good to relax by the pool or on the verandah taking in the beautiful views, including the olive grove immediately opposite. We found the local people very friendly and we also enjoyed exploring locally where there are numerous walks both gentle and more energetic.

We would recommend this property without reservation to both our friends who want an adults only holiday and to those with children old enough to understand pool safety rules.

Stunning holidays

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I stayed for two weeks in September in this beautifully equipped and located villa. The villa, on the edge of the village of Baredine is a ten minute drive from Buje, an attractive hill town with all the facilities you need. English is widely spoken in the area and you will receive a warm welcome, most of all from the staff of Centrix who manage the villa. They ensured that we got the utmost from out stay, with advice on restaurants, sites and shopping. You could not ask for a more helpful team.

We flew from Bristol with Ryanair to Treviso and hired a car at the airport from their partner Hertz. It was a three hour drive. For a shorter drive you can fly to Trieste and you are just half an hour or so away from the villa. A car is a must but rentals in Italy are good value. We hired with Hertz and we were cleared to drive in Slovenia and Croatia at no extra cost. But remember to buy a vignette permit at a garage (or at Trieste airport) before you cross the border from Italy into Slovenia

After dropping off our luggage at our villa we went in search of supper and came across the Konaba San Leonardo in Buje. The obliging owner reopened the kitchen even though it was half past ten at night and we supped on delicious pasta dishes of five cheese, truffles and wild mushrooms; outstanding value and high quality.

Your nearest neighbour, apart from other holiday makers, in this quiet, up-market, small scale development is Walter Smilovice, who owns an award winning olive grove and press, and his two very helpful English speaking daughters. I visited the press to watch the pressing and to sample and buy his award winning olive oil.

The views from the Villa terrace are stunning, inland, across hills and olive groves to the ancient hill town of Motovan; to the west you can see the Adriatic and Italian coast. And not to forget that with luck at dusk you’ll see hares and even deer in the olive groves.

You can sample the excellent local red wine, Kabola, at the vineyard, a fifteen minute drive away or sample other produce, including truffles at local autumn fares. You are also within an hour's drive of the beautiful towns of Rovinj, Porec and Trieste and the Linski Fjord and, further afield, Ljubljana is just over an hour and a half drive away
