An excellent apartment right in the centre of the town. Isabella excellent to deal with( especially as we don't speak french). A good central point for travelling Provence. Everything we could wish for, good air conditioning, and Internet. Beer garden below noisy till early hours of morning. Loved the markets!

Owner's Response: Really happy to have met you, so nice . Thank you for having let the apartment clean and for your kindness. Normally this place is very quiet ; air conditioning is very effective and it is best to close the windows ( double and very thick glass against noise).

Light and spacious good value apartment

  • 4 of 5

We were met by the cleaning lady as Isabelle was busy, and were shown into a very large and airy apartment. It could not be more conveniently situated for wandering around the town, and the wonderful Sunday market literally is on the doorstep (as we found when we tried to get out of the door!). Parking was easily found on the edge of town, though we did see this changing before our eyes from free to paying, and the size of some of the car parks was being altered during our stay. (There was a bit of car park rage, we noticed, and also our hire car incurred some damage while parked).

During our stay we did rearrange the furniture a bit to suit the three of us as there was only seating for 2 in the living area and, being August and 40+ degrees C, the balcony was like an oven (the very efficient air conditioning vents on to the balcony and it is a sun trap, also there is no view if you are sitting). So we moved a chair from the bed room and moved the dining table over to the window so that it felt more like an outside space - the windows could be opened fully and there was a lovely view of the river.

The beds were comfortable and long, the shower was efficient, and there was a very useful washing machine. The balcony was great to dry things quickly.

There is not much available storage, just a running rail and two out of three drawers empty in the main bedroom, and none at all upstairs. There was a lot of other people's food left behind in the kitchen cupboards and fridge so not much space left for our own. However, we shifted things around a bit to accommodate our stuff and managed fine. We only saw Isabelle once as she was going away, but she kindly recommended some good local restaurants and shops.

My only gripe, and I don't want to complain about our really very lovely stay, was that we paid the cleaner directly and then found that we had to iron our own bedding as it wasn't ready from the previous guests. NOT what I want to do when I'm on holiday!!

A Perfect apartment in a great town.

  • 5 of 5

This place has everything you need and is perfectly located with the Sorgue right outside your front window. Isabelle was a perfect host who went above and beyond by providing a great crib for our baby and even leaving a bowl of handpicked cherries outside our door on the first morning. We would return to this clean and bright apartment and I highly recommend it to anyone who is looking for a home away from home. Thank you Isabelle!

Great location in I'sle

  • 4 of 5

The apartment is very well located with parking in front or near by. The stairs leading to the 2nd floor (3rd US) apartment are easy to negotiate and have a sturdy hand rail however there is no handrail on the interior stairs leading to the upstairs bedroom. The kitchen equipment was basic - there was no microwave or water kettle. The landlord said she would get a microwave if it was needed. My only complaint is that I did not feel the place had been properly cleaned. Handles on the cupboards and refrigerator were sticky, flecks of items were in the sink and the floors could use a washing. With a 50 euro cleaning fee, the place should be very clean. The landlord and her husband were very friendly, helpful and accommodating. The cleanliness, while not bad, could be improved a little.

Owner's Response: The housekeeper is very nice and very conscientious , but as everyone it may happen that she is tired, not on top every day , she forgets something, and so everything is not perfect as it should be. I'm sorry and I just think that I must vigilantly checks. Best regards.

Great apartment - would return!

  • 5 of 5

First, I want to say that my entire experience with this rental was very positive. Isabelle was timely with all email responses and very helpful. When we arrived in town in our rental car, the street was blocked with some road work. Isabelle, came down, jumped in our car and showed us where to park. This took a lot of stress away for us. She also gave us wonderful advice of good restaurants in town and places to visit in the area.

As for the apartment itself, it was just a described. It's very spacious - actually much bigger than my husband and I needed, but the price did not reflect this at all. The location right by the sorgue was beautiful and convenient for walking to restaurants and shops, and also the Sunday market. The town of L'isle was beautiful and a really good base for driving to visit different towns of Provence.

Charming apartment in a charming Provence town!

  • 5 of 5

I just read the last two reviews by parties who must have stayed right after we did and each of them is so "spot-on" I really don't feel I can do any better. Isabelle is terrific, the apartment is plenty spacious (the main bedroom quite large and the upstairs bedroom wonderful). So centrally located in Provence and only 1/2 hr to the train station in Avignon. The Sunday market was amazing--one of the best I've been to anywhere in France. Cafes and bistros abound, lovely shopping for gifts and antiques . . . well, our stay could not have been better. We felt welcomed and appreciated; personally taken care of by the owner. We would definitely like to return sometime.
