This beautiful cottage is located in an enviable position with views of both the sea and the castle. It has recently been renovated by the owners and is fully equipped for families, and groups alike. It sleeps 4 and a travel cot can be provided for babies/small children. There is a secure patio area where bikes and surf boards can be stored. All of the lovely bars, restaurants and shops of Mumbles are within a short stroll of the property. There is gas central heating thoughout and a combi boiler providing hot water on demand. There is also an electric fire in the dining room.
Bedroom 1 with double bed, iPod dock with radio alarm clock. Bedroom 2 with twin beds. Cot available (please let us know if required).
Ground floor bathroom with walk-in shower, WC and sink. First floor bathroom with bath, WC and sink.
Fully fitted kitchen with electric hob and cooker, microwave, washing machine and fridge-freezer. DAB digital radio.

There are 2 reception rooms. The lounge has a sofa, 2 armchairs and a window seat. There is a flat screen TV with free view and a DVD player. The dining room seats 4 comfortably and has a highchair.
Bed linen, towels and end of stay clean are included for stays of 1 week or more. The cottage can be hired for shorter stays, we can arrange linen hire at very reasonable rates, or customers may supply their own.

There are 4 steps up into the property with a grab-rail. There is a downstairs bathroom, but there are stairs up to the bedrooms.

Changeover is flexible - but on a Saturday in high season. Departure is appreciated by 10 am but obviously we are flexible according to bookings.
A deposit of 25% is required at the time of booking to be paid in full 6 weeks prior to holiday. If booking less than 6 weeks in advance please note the full amount is payable.
PETS- Some pets are accepted by prior arrangement provided that they have their own sleeping bed/basket and are not left unattended in the property. They must be house trained, well behaved and kept off the soft furnishings/beds.

About the area
The 2 nearest sandy beaches are Langland Bay and Caswell Bay. They are easily accessed by car (pay and display car parks). There are also regular buses from Newton Road to both beaches. It is also possible to walk to Langland Bay as it is a little over a mile away. Younger children will also enjoy Bracelet Bay with its many rock pools, great for a not so sunny day. Other beaches well worth a visit include Oxwich, Rhosilli, 3 Cliffs and Llangennith.
Langland Bay Golf Club (1 mile away) - Great views and great golf come together with such perfection at Langland Bay. Fairwood Golf Club (approx 6 miles away) - set in 150 acres of woodland and parkland countryside and remains the only golf course within Swansea to have hosted a PGA event. Clyne Golf Club (approx 3 miles away) - this course offers a fine test of golf for all levels of handicap. Machynys Pennisula Golf and Country Club (15 miles away). Machynys Peninsula Golf and Country Club is proud to boast the first Nicklaus designed golf course in Wales. Modern links style layout overlooking Carmarthen Bay and the Gower Peninsula in South Wales and already home to the European Tours 'Ladies Championship of Europe', Machynys has already earned itself an enviable reputation as the UK's best new golf course. The Machynys Golf Club has a fantastic bar, restaurant and spa facilities for those who prefer not to play.
Special Interest Holidays
Walkers, ramblers and runners will not be disappointed with the many routes and trails available to them through the breathtaking backdrop of the Gower Pennisula. Surfers and kitesurfers will be well catered for with the fantastic beaches of the Gower penninsula. Dog owners are welcome and there are plenty of dog friendly beaches some within walking distance of the cottage. Rhosili beach (a short drive) features in The Times top 10 dog friendly beaches in the UK!
Mumbles is a short drive from the sports grounds of Swansea and Myrtle Cottage provides an ideal base for those wishing to visit the Liberty stadium or St Helen's.

Swansea train station approx 15 minutes drive (5miles). Short drive from ferry port.

Whilst our cottage doesn't have WiFi there are lots of locations in the village that provide free WiFi access only a short walk away.
Mumbles is a very family friendly destination with lots of bars and restaurants that happily accommodate children. To aid our customers with children who would like an evening out we can provide the details of a local child minder who is CRB checked, Ofsted registered, mature and reliable.
Fantastic cottage in the best location! All the comforts of home. We will definitely be back next summer.

I am originally from Wales and have always loved holidaying in the Gower. As a family we enjoy regular stays in Myrtle Cottage and we hope that you will too!

What are the unique benefits of the property?
We love to spend time with our 2 girls on the beach, usually Langland when we are in Mumbles and our dog Maxi enjoys running about on the beach too! We have great fun trying to surf and body board and generally messing around in the sea. My husband lovesto play golf and has enjoyed playing many of the local courses with his friends.
