Pen y Clip

Lounge

‘Pen y Clip’ is situated on the hillside overlooking the Menai Straits. The views extend from the Menai Bridge to Bangor Pier. The house is incredibly spacious and makes the most of the views with four of the bedrooms, the lounge, library room and kitchen at the rear of the property. There is a large deck area which can be accessed from the kitchen and lounge with dining table, BBQ and sun loungers and hot tub. There is also a summerhouse a short distance from the house for the cooler weather. The gardens were designed by the head gardener of Bodnant Garden, a National Trust garden in Conwy. There are many paths and large beds but equally great lawn space too.

Notes on prices
Prices are for the property per week in UK Pounds.
Midweek and weekends considered in mid to low season other changeover days considered.

Changeover day
Preferably Friday to Friday but can be negotiated.

Accommodation

 

Notes on accommodation
We will accept 1 well behaved dog at the property with an addition to the security deposit.
Please note there are quite a few steps at the property so young children would need supervision.

Accessibility
This property has not been adapted for wheelchair users. There are 3 shallow steps at the front but you can drive a car right up to the door. It does have a downstairs bedroom and shower room and you can access the outside from the lounge with no steps. There are 2 shallow steps down into the kitchen.

Outside
3 acre garden, summerhouse with seating, garden bench, hot tub seats 7, outdoor dining table and BBQ, 2 sun loungers. very sheltered south facing aspect.

Coast/Beach
The house is a 10 minute downhill walk to the village of Menai Bridge with a good selection of shops and some nice restaurants. There is also a lovely coastal walk from the village. Further afield there are numerous beaches, towns and villages to explore. For example Newborough, Red Wharf Bay, Abberfraw etc

Travel
Nearest airports are Liverpool and Manchester which both have car hire facilities. Bangor has a train station and there is a local bus service. I would recommend the use of a car.

Distances
Menai Bridge, 10 minute walk.
Beaumaris, 10 minute drive.
Bangor, 10 minute drive.
Rhosneiger, 20 minute drive.

Further details
Deli, butcher, banks, off licence, Coop, greengrocer, coffee shops, pubs, restaurants and takeaways all within walking distance. Public boat launch in Menai and plenty of room for a boat on the drive.

Booking notes
All bookings must be confirmed with a booking form. Payment depending on how far in advance the booking is made; 6 weeks before holiday payment in full with security deposit, 3 months before 50% must be paid. Any bookings made more than 3 months in advance a 25% deposit will be taken.

Guest comments
We had a fantastic time thanks very much. We would love to come back. We have spent many holidays in self catering houses and Pen y Clip is the best we've ever stayed at.
The house is done out to a very high standard. Do you fancy doing some interior design in my house? With the weather being so good the beginning of the week we spent a lot of time outside and in the hot tub, felt like a holiday abroad.
