Notes on accommodation
Plas Deucoch has central heating making it the perfect holiday retreat all year round. The house is ideal for families with children as there is a games room and plenty of space to run around in the large landscaped gardens.

Outside
There are large and beautifully landscaped gardens to the front and side of the property with stunning views across the Cardigan bay to Snowdonia. There is an outdoor dining area with BBQ and a hammock to relax in and enjoy the view. There are swings and a see-saw and a large parking facility for cars and boats.

Coast/Beach
You are never far from a fantastic beach in Abersoch and the Lleyn Peninsula. Besides Abersoch's own beaches there are several superb beaches, 3 with European Blue Flag status, within just a few miles of Abersoch, all with something unique and different to offer their visitors.

Golf
Abersoch golf course is a 2 minute drive away and the world renowned Nefn golf course is 20 mins by car. Abersoch is a hidden golfing gem nestling behind the sand dunes. This 18 hole course has a mixture of both links and parkland with many testing holes and wonderful views overlooking Cardigan Bay and the Snowdonia mountain range.

Nefn is unique 26 hole championship golf course; a view of the sea from every tee; 8 holes played on the now world-famous, well photographed ‘Point’, sometimes described as North Wales’ ‘Pebble Beach’.

Travel
Liverpool Airport is 1 hour and 30 minutes and Manchester Airport is 2 hours by car.

Distances
There is a choice of lovely walks on from the cottage including Abersoch Village (15 min), The Sun Inn at Llanengan (20 min), Bwlchtocyn beach (15 min) and Hell's Mouth (20 min). 11 minutes drive from Pwllheli and 47 minutes drive from the historical town of Caernarfon and Snowdonia National park, Abersoch is the perfect place for people who want a short break away from the hustle and bustle of urban life.

Further details
Although small and peaceful, Abersoch has a bustling village centre, full of shoppers keen to browse the charming shops and stores. Here you will be able to find jewellery stores, a book shop, surf shops, boutiques catering for women, men and children, a garden centre and several gift shops. If you need to relax after your shopping expedition, then there are numerous bars where you can relax with a pint of beer or a glass of wine. Abersoch has a huge variety of places to eat including Italian, Mexican, Thai and Indian restaurants, bistros, bars, fish and chips and tea shops. The restaurant at Plas Bodegroes is a short drive from Abersoch and is reputed to be the only Welsh restaurant to hold a Michelin star.
Abersoch and the surrounding area of Cardigan Bay must be one of the most underestimated sailing areas in the country. Forget the hustle and bustle of crowded marinas, shipping lanes, polluted water. Come and join us in a sailing venue that must rate amongst the best in the UK. How many venues can you think of that offer pristine water teeming with wildlife. Mackerel caught at first light then BBQ'd for breakfast. Dolphins (no really!) escorting boats to their moorings and a sunrise that equals any, anywhere. Don't believe us? Come see for yourselves.

All manner of sailing happens here, from a simple plod to the islands to some of the most competitive National, European or World championships. Cardigan Bay was proposed as the sailing venue for the Manchester Olympic bid a few years back. South Caernarvonshire Yacht Club offers all yachtsmen a haven, whether cruiser or racer.

About the owner
Hi, my name is Sally and I'm married with two children, Charlotte, 10 and Holly, 8. When we discovered Plas Deucoch we fell in love with it instantly! It is the most perfect holiday retreat where all our family and friends can get together and have a great time! The views are second to none and the house is incredibly spacious, but very homely. We all love going to Wales as there is so much to do from mountain biking, sailing, windsurfing, surfing, horse riding, fishing and walking to simply just sitting and admiring the stunning views. I hope you enjoy it as much as we do!

Year purchased: 2006

Why the owner chose a home in this location
The Llyn Peninsula is an enchanting part of Wales. With it's own micro climate, stunning scenery and beautiful beaches, there really is no other place where I would rather be.

Unique benefits of the property
When we bought Plas Deucoch, it was being run as a hotel, so it had to undergo a huge makeover. I used my knowledge and skills gained from working on interior programs to create what I hope is a stylish, yet homely holiday retreat. The house is incredibly spacious with plenty of room to spread out. Each bedroom has it's own bathroom/shower room. The garden is also very spacious and beautifully maintained (my husband is a landscape architect). There are two swings and a see-saw in the grounds. I have tried to think of everything to make the house as child friendly as possible from a well stocked playroom to plastic plates and cutlery! Plas Deucoch is conveniently positioned just a ten minute walk from the picturesque village of Abersoch and beautiful beaches.
