Travel Guide of Vieuxfort (St. Lucia, Caribbean)

Vieuxfort is St. Lucia's most southerly point, and boasts the island's second-largest town, which goes by the same name. While booking holiday lettings in Vieuxfort will allow you to enjoy typical Caribbean pursuits (primarily sunbathing and relaxing!) the town has a range of unique attractions. Once the heart of St. Lucia's sugar industry, there are dozens of colonial buildings and sites to explore inland. When considering holiday accommodation in Vieuxfort you also have a wide range of villages to choose from, which include the communities of Belle Vue, Grace and Zaboo.

Things to do in Vieuxfort

Surrounded by lush palm trees and boasting soft, white sands, Vieuxfort is the ideal spot for simply relaxing in the sunshine. For those in search of more activity however, there are excellent snorkelling and windsurfing opportunities, and a range of other leisure activities can be booked at several vendors. To learn a little more about the area's history, take a trip to beautiful Black Bay - legend has it the area was used to hide Blackbeard's pirate treasure. Of course, many tourists choose holiday homes in Vieuxfort because of its proximity to the Maria Islands Nature Reserve. Conserved by the Saint Lucia National Trust, it provides a nesting ground for leatherback turtles.
