The Texas Court House is a 5 bedroom house located on Caranchua Bay near Port Lavaca, Texas. Located about halfway between Houston and Corpus Christi on the Texas Coast, Caranchua Bay is convenient to all major cities in Texas. The Texas Court House is a luxurious two storey house covered in Texas Hill-Country Limestone for a unique design not found on any other vacation rental on the Texas Coast. It has two full kitchens - one upstairs and one downstairs! Enjoy a surround sound experience with a movie on the big screen TV and DVD player using our collection of DVDs. There is even a game system with games for the kids (or young at heart) to play. For the little ones, we have a play set out back and kids toys on site.

Changeover day
During the summer months of June, July, August and September, a weeks stay is required with the week running from Saturday to Saturday.
Accommodation
| Bedrooms: | It has two full Master Suites upstairs. The three bedrooms downstairs are good sized with one doubling as a gamesroom complete with foosball and air hockey for indoor fun! There is a King bed, 4 queens and a set of bunk beds. |
| Bathrooms: | In the two full Master Suites upstairs there is an oversized tiled shower and large Jacuzzi tub in EACH Master Bath. There is also a smaller master downstairs with a private entrance to the bath. |
| Kitchen: | In the Two full kitchens there is stove, microwave, dishwasher, fridge and a full set of dishes. |
| Utility Room: | We have a full size washer and dryer for you to use. However, you may have to provide your own soap. |
| Living Rooms: | There are two living areas. Enjoy a surround sound experience with a movie on the big screen TV and DVD player using our collection of DVDs. There is even a game system with games for the kids (or young at heart) to play. |
| Other: | Front and back decks on the house give you fantastic views of the ocean in the front and ranchland in the rear. The moon rises in the front over the bay and the sun sets over the countryside in the back. |
| Cleaning/towels/ linen/maid service: |
All linens and towels are provided. There is no daily maid service but the house will get a good cleaning before your arrival. |

Accessibility
Although not ADA compliant, the bottom floor is wheelchair accessible.
Outside
You will have a 150 ft. (50 meter) private pier for fishing along with an outdoor play set, fishing gear and an outdoor children's playset.
Coast/Beach
Right out the front door is Caranchua Bay and your own 150 foot lighted pier with direct access to the water. Caranchua Bay is full of redfish, shark, trout, flounder and drum. There is no commercial fishing in the Bay so fishing is GOOD! Kayaks and basic fishing gear provided.
Bring your boat! There is a boat launch nearby, and you can tie it up to our pier. Also, with your boat, you have easy access to Matagorda Bay, considered by all to have some of the best fishing on the Texas Coast!
Golf
A nine whole golf course is only a few minutes away with very reasonable green fees. Less than $30 for 18 holes and a cart.
Travel
Houston with two international airports is only about two hours. Corpus Christi International Airport is also about two hours away.
Distances
Nearest town of Port Lavaca is only 15 minutes away with a sandy beach, museums, shopping, and antiques.
Further details
For the wildlife enthusiast, there is an abundance of wildlife in the area. With a deer feeder out back, you can see deer, raccoon, possum, turkey and other wild animals.
For the birding enthusiast, this area is teaming with a large variety of bird species including Black-necked Stilts, Ibis, Rosette Spoonbills, Reddish Egrets, Gull and Tern species, Least Turns, Rails and Snipe, wintering Geese, Sandhill Cranes and White-tailed Hawks. You might even see endangered Peregrine Falcons, Wood Storks or Brown Pelicans. A loop of the Great Texas Birding Trail goes right down the street the house is on. There are a number of birding sites within a few miles of the house.
