Our two-bedroom apartment is directly upstairs and has identical views of the lake from the balcony (with electric barbecue). It has two bedrooms, one with queen size bed and one with twin beds; also there is a large sofa bed to sleep two more. There are two bathrooms, one en-suite. Both have bath and shower. |

Notes on accommodation
Lake Tarpon Villas is a modern, stylish, quiet, low-level apartment complex with direct access to seven-mile long Lake Tarpon (Florida's second largest lake) which is great for bass fishing and water skiing. Both apartments look out onto water, boardwalks and boat docks. A notable feature is the peace and tranquility of the view, especially with the palm trees lit up at night! Both apartments can use our gas-grill-BBQ which is on the decking right by the water. Both apartments have recently been refurbished to a high standard to make your stay a comfortable and relaxing one. They come complete with all vital appliances and utensils together with Cable TV, free high-speed Internet and telephone with free local calls.
Next-door to the complex is The Best Western Hotel, which is available for drinks or a meal at the Hemingway's Restaurant, and you can look back from there to your apartment across the water. Just over the road is a multiplex cinema.
Outside
There is an open-air swimming pool (shared) with solar panels which heats the pool in the winter and cools the water in the summer, Jacuzzi (shared), sun loungers and picnic tables where you can relax alongside the boat docks and waterside. Both apartments can use our gas-grill-BBQ which is on the decking right by the water. Next-door is a boat yard from which pontoon boats can be hired and docked adjacent to the apartments at our own private mooring.
Coast/Beach
Nearby are the well-known and lively beach resorts of Clearwater and St. Petersburg. Just 10 minutes away we have the quieter beaches of Honeymoon Island, Sunset Beach, Caladesi Island and Fred Howard Park. These hidden gems are often listed in the top 10 best beaches in America (beating competition in California and Hawaii!) Tarpon Springs is a renowned port just up the road, famous for it's ethnic Greek community diving for sponges.
Golf
Plenty of good value courses nearby including the world famous Westin Innisbrook (hosts US PGA tour event), Wentworth Golf club and the Lansbrook Golf course.
Travel
Tampa International Airport is just 30 minutes away, with the major theme parks in Orlando only 90 minutes away.
Distances
We are just 8 miles north of famous Clearwater beach. Other fabulous beaches much closer i.e. Caladesi Island which in 2008 was voted best beach in the whole of America!
Further details
Florida is renowned for good value, delicious food, usually served in large portions! Menus include a wide selection from ethnic Italian or gourmet French to "down home" barbecue or fresh fish caught daily. All of these are close by along with numerous supermarkets (including Wal-Mart) as well as shops and malls.
You are within easy reach of Disney World, Epcot Centre, Universal Studios, MGM Studios, Sea Life, and all the other attractions in Orlando. On your doorstep in Tampa, you have a theme park, Busch Gardens, famous for having the best roller coasters in Florida.
There are major sporting teams such as the SuperBowl champions Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the Tampa Devil Rays baseball team. You can also watch spring training for the Toronto Blue Jays and the Philadelphia Phillies.
Nearby is the Pinellas Trail which is 47 miles long where you can walk, run, bike, jog, or rollerblade.
There are endless other activities for everyone such as great shopping at the malls, water sports, scuba diving, snorkeling, museums (i.e. Salvador Dali), art galleries, gambling at the Hardrock casino in Tampa, bowling, zoos, cruises, concerts, nightlife, parks, fishing, cinemas, sailing, shelling, biking, tennis, racquetball, basketball, shuffleboard, horseriding, miniature golf, free internet at local library, live theater, sightseeing, waterskiing, windsurfing, parasailing, jet skiing, rafting and swimming with Manatees or Dolphins.

The apartment had everything we needed to ensure that we had a home from home holiday and I must say that the beaches at Honeymoon and Caladasi Islands are the best I have ever visited. My husband took his fishing gear and was surprised how easily he caught Bluegill and Bass from the decking - the first fish was on his second cast! Sam P.

Why the owner chose an apartment in this location
We wanted to be in the busy Clearwater Beach area of Florida where there is so much to do and see that one vacation is simply not enough, so we never get bored going back year after year.
It is also easy enough in just 90 minutes to get to all the theme parks in Orlando but we didn't want to be stuck on a suburban housing development in Orlando with nothing to do but visit the parks.
Instead we wanted a home on the gorgeous Florida Gulf Coast in a relaxing and homely part of Florida where you can enjoy the peace and serenity of watching the sun go down on some of the best white sandy beaches in the whole of America.
Although we are in an area with so much to do and see, we made sure we bought in a beautiful quiet spot so you can choose from the best of both worlds.
Unique benefits of the property
Our unique advantage over most normal properties is the superb location on the waters of Lake Tarpon.
The boats, decking and palms make this a lovely setting for your dream vacation. You can fish off the decking and see eagles and many other beautiful birds.
It is peaceful and tranquil yet the area we are in is full of malls, shops and excellent restaurants - and just minutes from beaches that have been voted the very best in the whole of America (and don't forget that includes Hawaii).
Inside the apartments we have made sure they are comfortable, clean and well-equipped with everything you need to be able to sit back and relax.
