Sarasota, the cultural centre of Florida offers the theatre, ballet and museums to patrons of the arts. The area also enjoys wonderfully inexpensive shopping with over 200 shops and stores and outlet malls only minutes away. Further afield - Disney, Sea World, Busch Gardens, Adventure Island, Edison Ford museum at Fort Myers, Naples, Sanibel, Marco Island, Key Largo, Key West, Cape Kennedy and the Everglades etc readily spring to mind.

Notes on prices
Prices are for the property per week in UK pounds. Midweek bookings by arrangement. A £120 supplement will apply if Country Club Social Membership is required. Less than 3 weeks rental - by negotiation - a cleaning charge of £60 will then apply. Wireless Broadband is included in the above charges.

Changeover day
Changeover can be on any day but ideally 2 clear days are required between guests to facilitate cleaning etc.

Cleaning/towels/
linen/maid service:
Towels and linen are provided. The condo will be cleaned prior to your arrival and additional cleaning, if required during your stay, can be pre-arranged at additional cost paid in advance. Mobile laundry services are available if required.

 

Notes on accommodation
Social membership of the Meadows Country Club is available enabling tenants to play all three of the Meadows challenging and beautifully manicured courses as well as offering use of the club's extensive and highly rated tennis courts and gym facilities etc on a pay as you play basis. The Club's fabulous dining facilities, also available to social members, are extremely highly rated and not to be missed. A newly created Olympic size rowing lake, which offers superb views, walks and cycle rides is directly behind the condo. Smoking is not allowed in the condominium. The Condo is right in Sarasota - close to everything.

Accessibility
A first floor property with steps to gain access. The property is not ideally suitable for people with severe mobility problems - no ramps/lift.

Outside
The two lanais are easily accessed from the kitchen, lounge or master bedroom capturing the morning sun for those wishing to breakfast on the rear lanai and enjoying the afternoon and evening sun on the front lanai overlooking of the pool. Both lanais have 'deck' furniture with tables and chairs - ideal for evenings with a glass of wine overlooking the pool which is shared with other condominium owners (but lightly used!). The fenced and lighted pool has an adjacent restroom and is well equipped with chairs, recliners and tables. The single garage houses 2 bicycles, for guests' use, with ample room for a car and golf clubs.

The newly created Olympic size rowing lake is directly behind the condo offering superb views, walks and cycle rides.

Coast/Beach
Gulf coast beaches are known around the world for their fine quality sand and shallow sloping safety.

Sarasota boasts Siesta Key, Lido Beach, Turtle Beach and Longboat Key approx 25 mins from condo. When approaching Lido Beach, St Armands Circle - famous for its quality shops and restaurants continues to attracts tourists with its quaint yet welcoming atmosphere.

Further afield Anna Marie Island's sleepy beach resort with its pier, good quality casual dining and wonderful beach is a must.

Golf
Social membership of the prestigious Meadows Country Club with its 3 magnificent golf courses, two of which are private and not available to the general public, is available.
There are additionally over 30 other golf courses in the immediate surrounding area within easy reach of the condominium, offering impeccably manicured fairways, perfect greens and challenging designs - a true golfers' paradise.
To illustrate its convenience the following courses, all within 5 to 15 minutes drive, are open to 'the public':
The Superb Legacacy Course, University Park Country Club - 2 star rated with 27 holes - immaculate and challenging, Bobby Jones Golf Complex - featuring an American type course and a British course - challenging and varied and Foxfire Golf Club - challenging for all levels of players featuring much wildlife including the monkey squirrel.
The vast majority of the other local courses are also open to the public although some may have seasonal restrictions.

‘We enjoyed our stay at Sheffield Greene, part of The Meadows Country Club so much that we are staying there again this year. The condo is very clean, light and roomy and very comfortably furnished with all the equipment (including broadband) anyone could possibly need on holiday and it all works! We were very relaxed there enjoying the peaceful atmosphere and being so close to the heated pool. As keen golfers we loved the Meadows Country Club which is so beautifully maintained with really good golf and tennis facilities and with charming and helpful staff. As well as being in the Meadows the condo is really well located with good supermarkets, outlet shopping and a varied selection of restaurants just an easy drive away.' Special interest holidays
Sarasota itself, as the cultural centre of Florida offers the ballet, arts, theatre, museums and the famed Selby Botanical Gardens. Downtown Sarasota with its array of museums, aquariums, shops and restaurants is only some 20 mins away whilst the famous Selby Tropical Gardens is a further 5 minutes away. The Sarasota Tourist Office is located in downtown Sarasota and readily supplies leaflets and brochures of the town's many attractions and points of interest. The famous Mote Marine Aquarium with its Manatees along with Pelican Man's Sanctuary are two other local attractions well worth a visit.

Travel
Car hire in Florida is essential.
Orlando tourist attractions such as Sea World, the Disney's and Universal Studios etc are some 2hrs up I 75 and I 4. Cape Kennedy is a further 1hr away.
Tampa's Busch Gardens, Adventure Island etc are 1hrs drive up I 75.
Naples, Sanibel, Captiva and Marco Island are 1.5 hrs drive down I 75.
The Everglades, Key Largo and Key West are other attractions all down I 75 (initially).
Airports: Sarasota 15 mins, Orlando approx 2 hrs, Tampa approx 45 miles.

We had a really lovely time in the condo and found everything in excellent condition. It was a pleasure to return there after a busy day's activities.The location was ideal for us as golfers, being quiet and peaceful but central for all amenities, including numerous golf courses. It was good to see people walking along the footpaths in The Meadows and we took advantage of the many trails in the area, both walking and cycling. We look forward to our next visit!

Many local shops, petrol stations, restaurants and banks are accessible within 10 mins drive and the Meadows Community has its own shopping area with a bank, restaurants, hairdressers and travel agents within 5 mins of the condo.

'When we opened the door to this condo we both said “wow”. It was by far so much more than what we expected. It was roomy, beautifully presented and perfect for us, especially as we are both golfers. Also the pool is literally in your front garden and the lanai overlooks it so great for the gin and tonics. With regards to the golf we could choose to play the 3 meadows courses or only a few miles away were other fantastic courses. The only other requirement that would complete the perfect holiday would be great beaches and restaurants. Sarasorta did not fail us on either of these accounts. I have been all over the world and can say that Lido and Siesta beach were spectacular and never ending. A walk on either beach first thing in the morning or last thing before sunset watching the birds and knowing that the weather in England was terrible made us feel like we were in paradise. Another plus was that the condo has a garage which meant that the golf clubs could be stored in the garage when we were not playing and we knew the car was safe.

Booking notes
Please book directly with the owner. A non-refundable deposit of 25% of the total cost is to be paid on confirmation of booking: with the balance to be paid 8 weeks before the vacation commences in.

A negotiable refundable security deposit may be required with the final balance, to cover the cost of facilities used at the Meadows Country Club and also potential damage, breakages or loss of remote controls (garage doors etc) or excessive cleaning costs.

'We both love the condo, it is the cleanest most comfortable rental we have had the pleasure to choose. Every need seems to have been catered for and is a real home from home. Even when the weather is unsettled we are very comfortable here and have certainly enjoyed the heated pool which I use as a calorie burner before visiting the local excellent restaurants. The Meadows area is delightful and we have walked, cycled (not very far) and enjoyed the golf Club’s amenities. The theatres in Sarasota have given us two delightful evenings and the beaches are within a fifteen minute drive. All in all I am unable to find fault and I am sure that everyone would be more than happy in choosing this destination. We hope to return again and again.'

About the owner
The condo is family owned having been bought new in 1992 as our 'second home' as opposed to a rental investment. We love and treasure the property. The owners are: Brian Snowden a retired Senior Barclays Bank Manager - now working part time in the local Magistrates Court, whilst still being a Business Banking Consultant for a medium sized firm of Chartered Accountants. Jackie Snowden (wife of Brian) a retired Yorkshire Bank official who having recently been Lady Captain of her Golf Club is now on the Executive Committee of Lancashire Ladies Golf Association, a passion which takes up a considerable amount of her free time. Edward Snowden (Brian and Jackie's son) is a Director of a local Estate Agency - married with one son who also, happily, takes up much of Grandma and Grandad's time.

Why the owner chose an apartment in this location
We bought the property because as keen golfers we immediately fell in love with the area and the setting. The condo is within The Meadows Golf and Country Club boundaries and is convenient for many other high quality local courses along with excellent restaurants, shopping and beaches. We were immediately impressed with the first class accommodation and excellent layout, in such a charming, quiet, peaceful location with the pool directly behind. The very useful integral garage which came with the property was an addition major bonus. Whilst being remote from crowded areas everything is easily accessible and the condo has provided us with regular annual holidays at our family's second home every year since purchase. This really is a true 'home' and is not regarded as just a rental property.

Unique benefits of the property
Benefits to us of our condo are: Comfortable, well maintained accommodation in a super, quiet location unaffected by traffic or crowds. Access to a shared private pool 20 yards from our condo which overlooks the pool - making it safe for young children. Excellent golf - several quality courses are within 15 minutes drive. The new Olympic size rowing lake behind offers good views, excellent walking, cycling and picnics. Ease of access to fine restaurants - within 5 to 10 minutes drive. Excellent shopping. Many fine, top quality beaches. Sarasota is the cultural centre of Florida with the ballet arts, theatre and museums. Virtually guaranteed sunshine whenever we visit. Social Membership of the Meadows Country Club enables use of all Club activities.
