The area also enjoys wonderfully inexpensive shopping with over 200 shops and stores and two outlet malls only minutes away. For those who wish to venture further afield - Disney, Sea World, Busch Gardens, Adventure Island, Edison Ford home and museum at Fort Myers, Naples, Sanibel, Marco Island, Key Largo, Key West, Cape Kennedy and the Everglades readily spring to mind. Interstate 75 is only 10 minutes away.

Notes on prices
Prices (including Country Club membership) are per day in UK Pounds. Transfer of club membership can only apply to a family i.e: husband and wife plus up to 2 children of school age. It is not possible to transfer Country Club membership to 2 couples. Consequently if 2 couples were to use the condo only one couple could have Club Membership the other couple would have use the Club facilities as their guest and pay green fees etc. 10% discount June - Sept for 3 weeks plus, 20% for 5 weeks plus.
Changeover day
Changeover can be on any day but ideally 2 clear days are required between guests to facilitate cleaning etc.

The property is not ideally suitable for people with severe mobility problems - no ramps/lift.
Outside
The lanais are easily accessed from the kitchen, lounge or master bedroom capturing the morning sun for those wishing to breakfast on the rear lanai and enjoying the afternoon and evening sun on the front lanai overlooking of the pool.
Both lanais have 'deck' furniture with tables, chairs and lounge recliners - ideal for evenings with a glass of wine overlooking the pool which is shared with other condominium owners (but lightly used!). The shared, fenced and lighted pool has an adjacent restroom and is well equipped with chairs, recliners and tables.
For more active swimmers there is a full size pool at the Country Club.
The single garage houses 3 bicycles, for guests use, with ample room for a car and golf clubs etc.
Coast/Beach
Gulf coast beaches are renowned for their fine quality sand and shallow sloping safety. Sarasota boasts Siesta Key, Lido Beach, Turtle Beach and Longboat Key approx 25 mins from condo. When approaching Lido Beach, St Armands Circle - famous for its quality shops and restaurants continues to attracts tourists with its quaint yet welcoming atmosphere. Sarasota is now the arts centre of Florida with its Museums, Ballet and Theatre adding to its other already renowned tourist attractions.
Golf
The Country Club pro's shop is only 5 mins from the condominium.
There are 3 suberb golf courses featuring typical sandy bunkers and many feature water hazards.
Two of the courses require the use of electric carts, so diverse is the area covered, whilst the shorter par 67 course is easily walkable - but highly challenging. For several months membership of The Meadows Country Club also affords guests the facility of reciprocal golf at several other local, notable Golf and Country Clubs (check with pro on arrival for updated details). Special interest holidays
In recent years The Meadows Country Club has hosted the Ladies Professional Tennis Championships featuring most of the top ladies on the circuit - a testament to the quality of facilities available at the Club for members for the remainder of the year. The condominium is ideally situated to be used as a base for exploring the wider attractions offered by Florida including the Disney resorts, Sea World, Busch Gardens, Adventure Island etc to the north with the Edison Ford home and museum at Fort Myers, Naples, Sanibel, Marco Island, the Everglades, Key Largo, Key West and Cape Kennedy etc to the south. For non golfers/tennis players the natural tourist attractions, beaches and cultural nature of Sarasota make the town perfect for a relaxing holiday and the owner would be pleased to consider rental without Country Club membership if required in these circumstances.
Travel
Car hire in Florida is essential.
Orlando tourist attractions such as Sea World, the Disneys and Universal Studios etc are some 2hrs drive up I 75 and then I 4. Tampa's Busch Gardens, Adventure Island etc are some 1hrs drive up I 75. Naples is 1.5 hrs drive down I 75. Miami. Sanibel, Marco Island, the Everglades, Key Largo, Key West, Cape Kennedy are other attractions further afield all essentially down I 75 (initially). Airports: Sarasota 15 mins, Orlando approx 1¾ hour’s, Tampa approx 45 mins
Distances
Downtown Sarasota with its array of museums, aquariums, shops and restaurants is only some 20 mins away whilst the famous Selby Tropical Gardens is a further 5 mins away. The Sarasota Tourist Office is located in downtown Sarasota and readily supplies leaflets and brochures of the town's many attractions and points of interest.
Further details
Many local shops, petrol stations, restaurants and banks are accessible within 10 mins drive and the Meadows Country Club community has its own shopping area with a bank, restaurants, hairdressers and travel agents within 5 mins of the condo.
Booking notes
Please book directly with the owner. A non- refundable deposit of 25% of the total cost is to be paid on confirmation of booking: with the balance to be paid 8 weeks before the vacation commences in order that the necessary transfer of Country Club membership can be organised in a timely manner.
A negotiable refundable security deposit may be required with the final balance, to cover potential damage, breakages or loss of remote controls (garage doors etc) or excessive cleaning costs.

Why keep on returning - three golf courses from easy to stretching, a private fitness centre, an array of tennis courts, a Club House with great dining facilities, and a full social programme. All this is but minutes from the attractions of downtown Sarasota, famed centre of theatre, art, culture and an array of wonderful restaurants. We love the condo and the whole ambience"

"We have been staying at this condo every year for eight years. The 2 bed/2 bath apartment is very comfortably furnished with all the mod cons. It is conveniently situated for the excellent beaches, restaurants, shopping and tourist attractions in Sarastoa.
The Meadows is unquestionably one of the finest Clubs in Florida. Two golf courses are of championship standard.
We unreservedly recommend this apartment"
