Within easy reach from the villa is the stunning Gulf of Mexico, offering mile upon mile of white sandy beaches and warm turquoise seas, where dolphins, pelicans and manatees can often be seen in their natural environment. The villa backs onto a lake, ideal for any keen fisherman, and if fishing is your thing, there is no place like nearby Boca Grande, the Tarpon fishing capital of the world. Water sports, fishing and boat charters are available from local marinas and to cater for the golfing enthusiast there are 3 championship golf courses on the door step. The area is also served by a variety of supermarkets, stores and fantastic restaurants to cater for all tastes, providing a variety of quality food at reasonable prices. To the north are the theme parks and tourist attractions at Tampa and Orlando, close enough to visit, but far enough away to avoid the hustle and bustle, whilst to the south there is the Everglades, Captiva, Sanibel and Marco Islands and Miami.

Preferred changeover day is Saturday but we are flexible.

Notes on accommodation
The villa is air conditioned throughout with the added benefit of ceiling fans in every room and over the lanai.
Outside
Large covered lanai with dining table and chairs (seats 6). Gas BBQ. Private solar heated screened pool (28 x 13ft feet). Four sun loungers and side tables. Latest pool safety alarm system. Outside hot and cold shower. Garden with sprinkler system. Large drive. Double garage. The pool area has stunning views of the lake at the end of the garden and is situated on a picturesque golf course. There are also 2 bicycles, beach chairs and umbrellas, etc.
Coast/Beach
The Florida Gulf coast is home to 5 of the top 20 beaches in America and you will be spoilt for choice. There are many tropical beaches within the immediate and local areas, including: Blind Pass Beach (also called Middle Beach) is the most isolated beach on the Manasota Key, ideal for total relaxation. There is parking, picnic tables, showers and restrooms. There is also a nature trail that you can follow with dunes and wildflowers and Boca Grande.
Golf
For golfing enthusiasts, this particularly beautiful area of Florida boasts high class public and private golf courses. There are four excellent courses right on your doorstep - Long Marsh, The Hills, The Palms and The Links. Lakeside Villa sits on the beautiful Long Marsh course. Over 20 more golf courses can be found at nearby Englewood, North Port, Venice, Port Charlotte and Punta Gorda.

Car hire is essential. Tampa airport is the nearest international airport and is approx 100 miles from Lakeside villa. Englewood centre 10 mins. Everglades City 2 hours and 15 mins. Fort Myers 1 hour and 15 mins. Miami 2 hours and 30 mins. Naples 1 hour and 30 mins. Orlando 2 hours and 30 mins. Sarasota 1 hour. Tampa 1 hour and 30 mins.

Further details
The fishing in South West Florida can only be described in one way - incredible! Fish the relaxing, pristine backcountry waters with its extensive network of bays, mangrove islands and tidal creeks, for some of the best Redfish, Snook, Trout, Gouper, Snapper, Sailfish, Dolphin and Cobia the state has to offer, or the world famous Boca Grand Pass for shark and the high flying, hard fighting Tarpon. These amazing fish make an annual migration northward up the west coast each spring and hooking a 'silver king', some in the 150lb range, is relatively easy. Getting the fish to the boat is another story and the fish's reputation for aerial displays and amazing fight, places it as the number one sport fish for many anglers. There are also miles of shoreline, countless oyster bars and acres of sea grass beds that attract an abundance of salt water fish, all waiting to be caught. For the fresh water angler, Rotonda itself has miles of canals and numerous golf course lakes offering some excellent bass, catfish and panfish fishing. Numerous guided charters and fishing trips are available for all types of fishing and for all levels of angler - from the most experienced to the complete beginner. Or why not just fish from bank, boat ramps or numerous jetties and bridges - there really is something for everyone. The Everglades East of Naples where you can experience the thrill of an airboat ride is the second largest national park (after Yellowstone). These massive wetlands - home of the endangered Florida panther and American crocodile - cover 2,200sqm and shelter more than 600 types of fish and 300 bird species. Tampa Busch Gardens offers a whole day to experience all of its 300 acres and various African lands. The lands contain theme adventure rides, shops, shows and restaurants. More than 2,700 animals from around the world wander freely. Orlando is about 3 hours drive and is one the major entertainment centres of the world.

This is our fourth year and we really enjoy our stay each year!
Being here was such a relaxing time and my husband finally saw the alligators (2 of them) in the lake. Our weather was exceptional. We enjoy the area, the restaurants, pool and especially the house and we are already looking forward to next years visit.
Lovely house, beautiful surroundings and would have liked to stay longer. Hope to come back soon.
