Our well equipped Villa Tropicana enjoys a superb waterfront location in Punta Gorda Isles a quiet exclusive deed restricted community that provides direct access by boat or car to Charlotte Harbor and the Gulf Coast Islands. The floodlit heated screened pool faces south. There is dual zoned air conditioning and heating. Hire a boat, moor it at the private dock and explore Charlotte Harbor and the Gulf Coast Islands and fish, watch dolphins or visit a deserted beach perhaps. Golf, tennis, boat hire and the Punta Gorda health club as well as restaurants, Fishermen’s village and a good range of shops are within 1.5 miles.

Notes on accommodation
Pocket sliders to the master bedroom suite, living room and dining/family room provide direct access to the covered lanai and caged pool. A telephone is available for free local calls and there is also a wireless Broadband/DSL connection.

Accessibility
The villa is not suitable for wheelchair users.

Outside
Covered lanai open to the private pool which is 24' x 14'. Solar heating included and additional heating by heat pump if required at extra cost. Outside dining area with table and chairs to seat 6 plus sun loungers. Professional gas fired grill/BBQ. Maintained gardens surround the villa with the rear garden backing onto a salt water canal with boat dock and free mooring. Fishing available from the dock.

Coast/Beach
Charlotte Harbour and the Gulf Islands are all within easy reach. The harbour is 5 mins by car and about 10 mins by boat from the villa. There is a small beach park within 1 mile of our villa that is very suitable for toddlers and babies. The superb Gulf beaches of Boca Grande and Englewood are about 30 mins by car.

Golf
There are at least 10 golf courses within half an hours drive. Some are private but many are public.

Travel
The nearest airports are Tampa about 100 miles with direct flights from the UK, or Fort Myers about 30 miles for indirect flights. Car hire is essential.

Distances
The centre of Punta Gorda is about 5 mins by car. Port Charlotte is about 10/15 mins by car.

Further details
Charlotte Harbour and the Gulf Coast in South West Florida offer a wealth of boating and fishing opportunities. There is sailing, power boating, jet skiing, kayaking, back bay fishing in the shallows and deep sea fishing in the Gulf of Mexico.

About the owner
Susann and I live in the South East of England. Our area is known as the Garden of England and we are surrounded by lovely countryside with fruit, hops (for making beer) and now vines and lavender. Within one hour we have the sea, London or even France. What might you say is wrong with this? Well you’ve guessed it the weather and not being able to experience all year round outdoor living and this is why we love the hot sunny climes and the laid back lifestyle of Punta Gorda on Florida’s Gulf Coast. Since purchasing our property we have bought a boat and boating adds a whole new dimension to our stays. What’s more Punta Gorda is a great place to explore the whole of South West Florida from. Why the owner chose a home in this location
We wanted to enjoy boating and waterside living and having looked at an area between Naples and Sarosota we finally settled on Punta Goda with its old Floridian atmosphere combined with modern amenities and harbour side facilities. Punta Gorda is a quiet laid back town that remains largely undiscovered by tourism; yet all amenities are on your doorstep; waterfront restaurants, shopping, boating, world-class fishing and boat tours to the Gulf islands and public golf courses. We also chose Punta Gorda because the weather is fabulous all year round and there is so much for us all to do. It is also a very good base for visiting the whole of South West Florida.

Unique benefits of the property
There is so much we enjoy at our home in Punta Gorda. The true holiday atmosphere, the fabulous weather, swimming in our private pool, relaxing with a book, cooking prawns on our grill and going out on our boat to some distant beach or restaurant perhaps with some dolphins joining us on the way. There is of course also the eating out at one of the many restaurants in the area, the shopping trips and the golf, tennis and cycle rides. Even though we have been going there for some years now we never get tired of it and nor do our many guests who return year after year.
