Our regular repeat guests love our home because of the living area which includes a den and a family room as well as a formal living area. There is a room for everyone! Our home is extremely well stocked and the kitchen has everything you could need during your stay including plastic glasses and plates for use outdoors. The large windows let in plenty of sunshine and the mainly tiled floors help to keep Sunset Hideaway cool, even in the hottest weather. There is a large table on the lanai with 6 chairs and 4 very comfortable sun loungers. We have 2 bicycles for the energetic and the local area has some very good bike trails as well as active cycle clubs. We offer WiFi access to our guests and a top notch golf programme. Our home contains a comprehensive up to date in-house guide which is full of information about the house and the local area. It will help to make sure that you enjoy to the maximum a holiday spent in our lovely home.

Notes on prices
Optional electric pool heat is £9 per night. There is a £95 single fee which covers prep and final standard clean. There is a £150 refundable security deposit required with all bookings. BBQ usage is free and includes one full tank of gas. Refills are charged locally at $25.00 per refill. Tax is included in the rates. Golf is an additional cost, but just £35 in the summer. Please ask for details.

Accessibility
If the steps to the house can be negotiated, the mainly tile floors make this home suitable for the elderly.
Outside
There are lovely gardens and the lanai and pool are screened in. Landscaping has grown up around the pool giving good privacy. The private pool also has a removable child safety barrier. It is easy to take down, but offers peace of mind if you have small children in your party.
The pool is a standard size, plenty big enough for ball games and it is a rectangle. We do have optional electric pool heat and a solar blanket for the winter.
Coast/Beach
We are spoilt with our local beaches. The 32 miles of wide gulf beaches are spotless and most beaches have good facilities. They are a 10-15 minute leisurely drive west from the house.
If you go south to the Island, you will find more great beaches, many of which are more Caribbean in style. This is a rare island where visitors are made to feel very welcome and beaches are easily accessible. It is a 10 minute drive from the house to the toll bridge.
Golf
We are members of our management company's golf programme. This offers 2 named adults and up to 2 children under the age of 14 unlimited golf on 4 of the 6 Rotonda courses and all you pay for is a £35.00 admin fee and golf cart hire in the summer. In the winter, there is an additional charge of £35 per week for each pass card. There are excellent courses in the area to suit every ability level.
Travel
We have several airports within striking distance of our home.
Ft Myers (RSW) is accepting more flights and it is now easy to fly from Europe to Ft Myers with only 1 stop with US Airways and Delta. It is approximately an hours drive from the house.
Sarasota is a smaller airport, but just 45 minutes from the house.
Next comes Tampa, served directly from the UK by BA, this airport is roughly 90 minutes from the house.
Orlando is 2.5 hrs drive and Miami a good 3 hours from the house.
Distances
Nothing seems to be measured in miles here, more like travel time! Almost everything is 15 minutes because of the great location that Rotonda has. You can reach restaurants in 5 minutes by car, Venice and Port Charlotte are 15-20 minutes and Sarasota is around 40 minutes.
Further details
A car is an essential here, but journeys are short. There are plenty of good restaurants and supermarkets. Port Charlotte has its own mall and there are Outlet Stores both north and south of us. Our In-House guide is kept current with the best loved local restaurants and our Management Company have a stand which is full of leaflets about places of interest. Whether you are madly sporty and want to golf, play tennis, ride horses, brave jetskies, kayak up the Myakka River or fish forever, our home is a perfect base for you.
Guest Comments: we strongly advise anyone looking for a beautiful, immaculately maintained, family villa with own private pool to stop looking now and book Sunset Hideaway. Immediately from booking directly with the owners you'll realise this is their pride and joy and quite rightly so. Obviously you'll find it tastefully furnished and comfortable accommodation but its the detail in this property that makes it a cut above the rest. You'll feel right at home and there's enough lounging rooms (x3) for everyone to find their own private space. The master bedroom overlooking the pool with its huge bathroom and walk in closets complete with hairdryer, fluffy towels, ceiling fan and TV makes it a real home from home. Booking notes
Once you have confirmed a booking, I will e-mail you an invoice for your approval. We ask for a 20% deposit to hold the booking with the balance due 8 weeks before arrival, together with the £150.00 refundable security deposit.
Our Cancellation Policy is:
More than 8 weeks prior to arrival - deposit only.
Between 6 - 8 weeks prior to arrival - 50% of rental.
Less than 6 weeks prior to arrival - 100% of rental.

We have rented many villas in Florida and indeed worldwide over the years and have to say this is within the top three. The villa was spacious, immaculately maintained, furnished to a high standard which made for an extremely comfortable stay and above all the peaceful location by the canal was totally relaxing; we had a lot of fun watching the wildlife! We would have no hesitation in recommending this villa particularly for golfers where the value for money was outstanding.
