Outside
Table and 2 chairs on the balcony which overlooks JBR avenue and pools, the promenade swimming pool and to the left you can see the Marina. Clothes dryer (under bed) can be put on balcony as required. There are children's play area and pool, and large pool. Large excellent equipped gymnasium, 3 glass back squash courts with viewing area.
Coast/Beach
The white sandy Jumeirah beach is just a 15 minute stroll. Paragliding, water skiing etc all available.
Golf
36 hole Emirates golf club, the Majilis course where the Dubai Desert Classic is held, and the Wadi course designed by Nick Faldo is just across the Sheikh Zayed Road (about 4-5 km) The Montgomery championship course is on the same road. Dubai Creek, the Els course (at Victory Heights), Arabian Ranches, Jebel Ali Beach resort also has an excellent 9 hole challenge.

Travel
Airport is 20 minutes to 45 minutes depending on traffic, taxi normal fare between 70 and 100 dirhams ( 10 to 16 pounds). Car is not essential as there taxis are plentyful right outside the Marina Promenade complex.
Further details
Marina supermarket take phone orders and deliver to your door. Alcohol cannot be purchased once inside the country except in bars and restaurants. You may bring your own selection of wines, beers etc in with you. These can be purchased in the arrivals hall where you pick up your baggage. The apartment caters for 6 dining.
Getting transportation from the airport:
Taxis are available from Dubai International airport, expect to pay no more than 100 AED. Take a taxi to the Mina Salah (5 star hotel) at 'Madinat Jumeirah' (check internet) and visit the bar where you overlook the canal and take in the views of the Burj Al Arab. Take an Abra ride to one of the many restaurants or just stroll around this modern souk built in traditional style. Wild Wadi is a must for children and grown ups.' 15 minute taxi ride.
Shopping experience is second to none, try the 'Emirates Mall' (with ski dome) or 'Ibn Battuta mall' (ceck internet), bot are just a 10 minute taxi ride either side of the Marina. Avoid traveling into Dubai (past the Mall of the Emirates) in rush hours. Plan visits to the creek (Gold Souk etc) carefully. Friday is a good day to venture across town as the traffic is manageable.
