Sleeps 4/5. 2 bed ground floor apartment with large private terrace. Private pool. Fully air conditioned. 8 mins walk to quiet, pebble beach. In a great location for resorts such as Çalis, Fethiye, Hisarönu and Öludeniz. There are several small hotels, shops and taxi rank a few mins walk away. The property is fairly new and the gardens are growing well, with a few fruit trees, a small grass area and a built-in bbq at the rear of the garden. The area is quiet, with just a few other villas around, but a dolmus (minibus) is always close by to take you to one of the popular resorts or a taxi to Calis where you can then pick up a water taxi to Fethiye.

Notes on accommodation
Decorative wrought iron bars have been installed to all windows and doors for added security. Fully air-conditioned, although main windows all have mosquito nets if you prefer fresh air to aircon. Both bedrooms have doors to balconies with mountain views. Hand-made hallway mirror, 1x1.7m tall so whole family can get ready at the same time! The fireplace is functional for winter breaks.
Please note that the pool is empty from November to April and the reduced rental cost reflects this. The pool is prepared from May to end of October, however the hotels all have free access to their pools.

The 40 sq.m. pool is shared only with upstairs apartment, when occupied. Four sun loungers available. Own private gated driveway and entrance. The property is fairly new and the gardens are growing well, with a few fruit trees, a small grass area and a built-in bbq at the rear of the garden. The area is quiet, with just a few other villas around, but a dolmus (minibus) is always close by to take you to Calis (walking distance), Hisaronu, Fethiye, or Oludeniz.
There are several small shops a few minutes walk towards the beach for any essentials and a taxi rank if you don't want to hang around for a dolmus.
Coast/Beach
The closest beach is mainly pebble and less than a 8 minute level walk – quiet and unspoilt. There are a choice of traditional restaurants catering for all palettes. Some of these also hold typical turkish evenings with belly dancers, bbq parties and more. Water sports can also be enjoyed at the Surf Cafe and new restaurants are opening every year. Some of the proprietors are also happy to offer takeaways and free transport to and from the restaurants if you're feeling a little lazy.
Travel
Dalaman airport is approx 40 minutes drive away.
Car hire is not required as the local dolmus (minibus) is superb and very cheap. It’s a hop-on, hop-off service that can be picked up from directly outside the apartment (high season) or 7 min walk from main road and a short journey into Fethiye centre where another dolmus can be picked up to many other resorts. The water-taxi from Calis will also take you directly into Fethiye harbour.

Further details
If you fancy a change of scenery, you can always use the local small hotel’s facilities i.e. tennis courts, pool table, table tennis, etc. and all free of charge, including free internet access. Calis has a waterpark and on Sunday a market where you can eat freshly made pancakes and drink local teas after enjoying some serious haggling with the vendors. The water taxi from Calis to Fethiye is a must! At approx £2 per head this takes you directly across the bay and is a much cooler means of transport with great views of the sunset, islands and coastline. Island boat trips leave from Fethiye harbour from 9.30am. At only £5-£10 per head including lunch it’s a great day out. Fethiye also boasts a wealth of history with it’s rock tombs, amphitheatre and medieval castle. There are buses from Fethiye's main bus stop to several other sites/resorts including Öludeniz, Hisarönu, Gocek, Saklikent, and more.

A non-refundable cheque deposit of 25% is payable upon booking. Balance to be paid 8 weeks prior to arrival (allowances can be made for late bookings). Booking form to be completed. £100 deposit required to cover any damage to property or breakages (please replace breakages if possible), refundable 10 working days after departure from property. Keys and running of property is handled by efficient and friendly local english lady who is more than happy to help and answer any questions

About the owner
I live in Hertfordshire with my son and try to get back to Turkey as often as I can, usually two to three times a year. I used to be restricted to school holidays but not any more! It's a shame for the apartment to remain empty for most of the year and that's why I rent it out - however, the rentals do help pay towards the bills and upkeep too. Some of my family and friends have stayed there and all seem to love it, with a few returning several times. I have made some good friends within the community, my most valuable being the lady who looks after the property for me – Deb comes from England and has been living in the area for more than seven years, so she is a great source of local information.

Why the owner chose an apartment in this location
Koça Çalis is a little way off from the more lively resorts and beautifully quiet and rural. With farmland opposite and a cow next door (just across the pathway) you really do feel like you are part of the local life. However, all the other resorts are a short taxi or dolmus minibus ride away if you do fancy dressing up and hitting the town. Koça Çalis/Ciftlik is the perfect getaway from the hustle and bustle of everyday life but not totally secluded. There are a few shops and restaurants and most of the locals now know me quite well, so I always get a warm greeting whenever I'm there. I bought the property off-plan, but it was designed around my requirements – I just had to choose the location and I chose Koça Çalis!
Unique benefits of the property
The villa has it's own pool which is much larger than a lot of the other private pools in the area and we often have it to ourselves as the owners above don't tend to travel much. The best part about the ground floor apartment is the large terrace that overlooks the pool is for our sole use while upstairs has their own smaller terrace.
