Villa Sovalye (The Knight's House) is situated off the Kalamar Road not far behind the Asfiya Hotel. It is a genuine 10 min walk to the village with shops, restaurants and bars 5 min. All rooms have air-con and mosquito screens. The owners have furnished the villa with great attention to detail creating a wonderful and stylish ambience. The villa has a spacious roof terrace with a wonderful traditional Turkish Ottoman - a great place to chill out and admire the spectacular sea and mountain views. There is also a BBQ, table and chairs and 2 sun loungers. The pool terrace has 6 sun loungers, 3 umbrellas, an additional BBQ and table and chairs for al fresco dining. The beautiful pool is 6mx4m and has a constant depth of 2m but there are gradient steps for access. At the rear of the villa, in the lush tropical gardens, there is a beautiful gazebo with a hammock where you can also relax and enjoy the peace and serenity. Bedroom 1- with king bed & door to balcony. Bedroom 2- with double bed & door to balcony. Bedroom 3- with double bed & door to pool terrace. (Please note that bedroom 3 is a small double). There are no single or twin beds. Travel cot available.
Bathroom 1 with jacuzzi spa bath and shower attachment, Bathroom 2 with rain shower. These bathrooms are next door to the bedrooms so are virtually en-suite. Bedroom 3 has an en-suite wet room. All have marble topped units and are fully tiled.
The kitchen is fully equipped with large fridge/freezer, gas hob/electric cooker, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine, food processor/blender, kitchen utensils, crockery, glasses etc and a water chiller for your convenience.
The washing machine is located in the main bathroom on the first floor. An ironing board is located in the kitchen area.
Very spacious open plan lounge area, tastefully furnished with beautiful wrought iron sofas, marble topped coffee table, large dining table and 6 chairs, open fireplace, satellite TV, DVD, CD and I-pod dock. French doors open directly onto pool terrace.
The roof terrace has a fabulous Turkish Ottoman seating with low table and cushions affording spectacular views of the sea and mountains - a wonderful place to chill out! There are also 2 sun loungers, large BBQ and table and chairs for dining al fresco.
The pool and garden are maintained to a high standard on a daily basis. All bed linen, towels and a cleaning service is provided once a week. Please bring your own beach towels.

The private 6m x 4m pool is 2m deep. Outdoor funiture includes 3 sun umbrellas and 6 sun loungers by the pool. There is also a table and chairs for al fresco dining and a BBQ on the pool terrace. On the roof terrace there is a superb Turkish Ottoman seating area, a large BBQ, table and chairs and 2 sun loungers.
Important notes on accommodation
Air-conditioning and mosquito screens in all rooms. All bedrooms have kingsize or double beds (no twin/single beds) A travel cot/playpen is available for babies and toddlers. All bedrooms have wardrobes, bedside and dressing tables, beautiful lamps and Turkish bedspreads. Bed linen and towels are provided but please bring your own beach towels. Welcome pack on arrival. Please note that young children should be properly supervised by the pool and wear arm bands. The unguarded pool has a constant depth of 2 metres but there are graduated steps for ease of access. Children should also be supervised on the roof terrace. The owners cannot accept liability for any accidents or injury that may occur during the rental period. No more than 6 guests plus a baby or toddler are permitted to stay at any time. There is a cool box and picnicware and a portable high chair for babies/toddlers that can also be used in restaurants. Free Wi-fi is available and phone. Sat TV, DVD, CD, Ipod-dock.

Changeover day is Monday. Check in after 4pm. Check out 12 noon. If you have a late flight your luggage can be stored until your departure.
A £200 deposit is required to secure a booking. This is non-returnable if the balance is not paid when due or the booking is cancelled for any reason. The balance is payable 8 weeks before departure plus £200 damage deposit. Only 2 week bookings taken in July and August.

About the area
Kalkan village is an easy 10 minute stroll but there are restaurants, bars and shops just 5 mins walk away. The beach is 15 minute walk from the villa. Kaputus beach is a 15 minute drive from the villa or approx 20 minutes on the dolmus. Patara beach is a 25 minute drive from the villa or approx 35 minutes on the dolmus. There are quite a few reputable diving centres close by.
How to get there
Dalaman is the nearest airport and is approximately 1 hour 40 minutes drive away from Kalkan. We can arrange airport transfers in an air-conditioned taxi or minibus for £120 return (2-3 persons) or £140 return (4-6 persons) We can aslo arrange private car hire from £23 per day. NB: We strongly recommend that guests who have not been to Kalkan before have the airport transfers or they may have difficulty finding the villa.
Genuine 10 min walk to village, 15 mins to beach and harbour, 10 mins to the local market which is every Thursday. Shops, bars and restaurants 5 mins walk.
There is a great choice of over 150 restaurants and many wonderful shops and boutiques in Kalkan all just waiting to be explored! There is also a bank and a post office in the village. Local shops and supermarkets are all within easy walking distance of the villa. The local market on Thursdays selling a vast range of local goods and produce is not to be missed! Free WiFi and free local calls on the landline phone is provided to ring for taxis or make restaurant reservations (local calls only).

We live in Rottingdean a pretty village on the outskirts of Brighton where we run a property maintenance company so you can be assured that the villa is maintained to our very high standards. We have many varied interests, Michael is a marathon runner and plays guitar and Chrissy has a keen interest in interior design and gardening.
We fell in love with Villa Sovalye at first sight for it's fabulous views of Kalkan bay and the Taurus mountains as well as the great location close to the village and all amenities. We take great pride in making our villa a very special place not only for ourselves to enjoy but for other discerning guests who wish to experience all this beautiful villa has to offer.

Why this location?
We first visited kalkan in 2004 and fell in love with it. Having visited many places we knew that this was the perfect place for our holiday home. We viewed many properties but nothing ticked all the boxes until we saw Villa Sovalye! The location is perfect, peaceful but close to the village and all amenities and only 5 mins from shops, bars and restaurants. It is a front line villa on a small complex so has uninterrupted views of the sea and mountains from all levels. The beautiful gardens and private pool as well as the stunning roof terrace were just some of the many reasons we knew we had found our perfect place in paradise!
