Villa Zarif (meaning elegant or stylish), is a generous 3-4 bedroom private villa with it’s own pool, ideal for a family holiday or a great getaway for two or three couples. It’s location offers the best of both worlds; situated in a peaceful olive grove with fabulous sea and mountain views, whilst being only a 10 minute downhill stroll into the heart of Kalkan, with it’s excellent restaurants, quaint streets teaming with beautifully presented shops and friendly bars. Villa Zarif can sleep up to 8 people; is set in pretty maintained gardens and features a private pool terrace ideal for family relaxation. The roof terrace, furnished with sunbeds and comfortable seating, gives spectacular sun-trap views of Kalkan, the bay and the mountains.

Notes on prices
Please note these prices are the cost for the maximum occupancy (5-8); we offer lower rates for 3-4 and 2 person parties. Contact Julie for further information. A £250 non-refundable deposit is payable at the time of booking and the balance plus breakage deposit of £250 payable 12 weeks before departure. Payments for late bookings must be made in full at the time of booking otherwise the booking and transfer arrangements cannot be confirmed.
Changeover day
We try to be flexible to fit with flights but during the school summer holidays we try to keep to either Fridays where possible.

Villa Zarif is a traditional style home built largely from natural stone. The villa offers four bedrooms with three being en-suite with air-conditioning.
The spacious air conditioned lounge includes comfy seating, 32” LCD TV with satellite channels, DVD player and a working open fireplace. The fully equipped kitchen has a dishwasher, oven, hob, large fridge freezer and a breakfast bar.
On the top floor you will find the ‘Den’ with Playstation 2 and funky furnishings. It can easily be turned into a 4th bedroom for children/teenagers as it includes a double sofa bed. The large floor cushions can be used on the roof terrace.
We provide a welcome basket on your arrival as well as other conveniences to make your stay run smoothly, including: beach bags, cool bags, mobile phone for local calls & 3 hairdryers, in each of the main bedrooms.
Accessibility
Kalkan is a hilly place but that shouldn't put off visitors to Villa Zarif; it has a ground floor bedroom that converts to a double, with en-suite shower room and WC. There is level access to the lounge, kitchen and pool terrace, so there's no need to use the stairs if mobility is difficult. There are 3 steps up into the villa from road level.
'Our Home' restaurant is next door to the villa and our lovely Turkish neighbours, Eser and Gursel will bring food to you if you wish.
Outside
A 32 square metre private swimming pool in a spacious pool terrace with sunbeds and parasols. Inflatables/swimming aids provided. The villa also has a WC and washbasin located in the pool storage room - handy for anyone wet from the pool. Outdoor dining table and seating for up to 10 people as well as BBQ and utensils. Chicken, meatballs and kebabs can be bought fresh from the nearby butchers. A private roof terrace with Kalkan Bay views, has soft furniture, sunbeds, floor cushions and parasol. Gardens to the front and side boast olive and pomegranate trees.
Coast/Beach
It's a 15 minute downhill walk to the coast, harbour or beach club, but most of the beach clubs around Kalkan offer a free taxi service to and from your villa.
Travel
Dalaman is the nearest airport, and it's a 90 minute journey to Villa Zarif.
We can arrange your airport transfer to and from the villa. Please request this at the time of booking and make payment direct to Burhan, the driver, at the end of your holiday. Prices start from £60 each way by air conditioned car or minibus depending on the number of travellers.
Distances
Kaputas sandy cove beach is a 5 minute drive from the villa.
Patara beach and the ancient ruins are a 15-20 min drive.
Kalkan is a 10 minute stroll to the centre and restaurants.
ATMs, supermarkets, a butcher, fruit and veg shop and some restaurants are approx 5 mins downhill walk from the villa.
The owners of 'Our Home' restaurant are happy to arrange to pick up 5 litre bottles of water for you to save you carrying them.

Some restaurant recommendations: A wander into the town to check which restaurant menus you like the look of is always the best way to decide where to eat. Members of our family each have their own favourite that we recommend to you: Richard – A recent discovery and instant favourite is the Aubergine restaurant located on the harbour front. It serves beautifully cooked food in a lovely environment. Excellent wild boar… Julie – I love the atmosphere and quality of food at the Kalamaki restaurant. It’s smart and modern, serving excellent food. I also think Sofra is worth a mention – good meatballs! Alex (16) - Wild boar at the Trading House is very good but tbh all the restaurants are sound, serve great food and have a good atmosphere. Andrew (13) – I like the Ottoman House because you get to sit on the Turkish seats for a drink before going to the rooftop. They also serve my favourite desserts – crepes – lovely!
Chloe (12) – It’s hard to choose the best one but I will go for the Doy Doy restaurant near the harbour because the waiter was good fun, the food was lovely and I tried my first Calamari there! Bars: We enjoy the friendly and charming banter at both the Moonlight Bar and the Yali. The waiters are very attentive and good with the children. They do occasionally have the TV screens on in case of a key sporting event but these are generally not intrusive.
Booking notes
Non refundable deposit of £250 is required at the time of booking with the balance payable 12 weeks prior to your stay, or at time of booking if within 12 weeks of departure. A breakage deposit of £250 is required with the final payment and will be returned within 14 days of the end of the hire period, assuming no damage or breakages have occurred. All payable by bank transfer.

We've holidayed in Kalkan many times and finally decided to buy our own villa in the Bay in 2010.
We are UK residents, both run our own businesses and will deal with all enquiries or bookings promptly, courteously and professionally.

Why the owner chose a home in this location
We fell in love with Kalkan and the Lycian coast many years ago, and more recently decided to invest with our hearts as well as heads! The town quaint with a friendly atmosphere and the people are warm, courteous and charming. We never tire of holidaying here. Kalkan offers a unique blend of good company, good facilities and a relaxed, 'local' atmosphere.
