It has a shallow end, illumination and is the infinity type which allows you to have views from its water level of the amazing seascape, harbour and town. Surrounding the pool and the Villa are well-lit social and private travertine terrace areas with lounging in the shade or full sun and dining on food prepared in the kitchens or at the built-in pool-side barbecue. There is a superb pergola on the upper terrace with sun/shaded ottoman style relaxed lounging. Due to the villa's elevation, multi-level accommodation and multiple balustraded terraces, care should be taken will mobile infants. Notes on accommodation
The interior has locally crafted contemporary chestnut furniture throughout and antique rugs. Centralised ducted air-conditioning, cooling and heating all rooms, including bathrooms. A small room with desk has internet facility.

Accessibility
The accommodation is arranged on three levels (the fourth level being the roof terrace and its kitchen). The stairs are a wide marble spiral. There is a large double bedroom at living/dining/kitchen/pool level which is one flight down from the entrance floor. Doorways are wide by British standards.
The walk down to the town is not advised for the infirm or very elderly, although taxis are plentiful for the 8 minute drive.
Outside
The villa is on the edge of a development of 3 villas and to one side are lovely uniterrupted terraced olive groves, whilst a dramatic mountain background lies behind. The situation of the villa was selected to afford outstanding views to Kalkan and the harbour and to the sea and The private infinity pool adjoins a Jacuzzi which doubles as a children's pool. It is cleaned and checked every day. There is an outside fresh water shower for post pool bathing - or just a special cool off!! A second large south-facing terrace is situated at entrance level and has equally stunning views with shaded seating area.
At the rear there is a garage and parking. All garden areas are regularly tended and terraces cleaned.
Sun loungers, dining furniture and sun umbrellas enable the use of all terraces, whilst also providing private spaces if required.
Coast/Beach
Kalkan main town has two beach clubs plus a sheltered pebbly beach with all equipment and nearby restaurants available. Over in the Kalamar Bay district are two further excellent beach clubs with all water sport activities at hand.
Kaputas sandy cove, whose sea colour is featured in so many promotional photographs, is 12 mins away.
Patara beach, about 20 min. by bus or car is famous for another reason - it's an 18km long stretch of white sand, backed by sand hills and a protected nature area.
Travel
Dalaman is the nearest airport and 140 km (1 hour 35 min) away.
We can book a reasonable and very reliable transfer service or car rental.
Once arrived at the villa, a car is not essential unless you wish to freely explore the local area. However, there are efficient and cheap dolmus (minibus) services operating from Kalkan to Kas and the surrounding beaches and to the main town of Fethiye.
Lots of taxis are around for the trip back up to the villa and supermarkets/restaurants offer deliver.

The historic town of Kalkan is one of the most beautiful spots on the Turquoise coast of Turkey and a wonderful resort for anyone who needs calm and relaxation. Originally a small fishing village and trading port, it was home to mixed Turkish Ottoman and Greek inhabitants. Its traditional layout and building styles have generally survived to give atmospheric, narrow, traffic-free streets sloping down to the small pretty harbour.
Its locality has a healthy climate and low humidity, with sea breezes moderating the 30°-40° summer temperatures.
A welcome pack of consumables is provided.
A helpful handbook is left for guidance on apartment details, local facilities and local numbers and a local British-run agency is at hand for help, advice, car hire and other bookings.
Booking notes
An initial deposit of 30% is required with the booking form to confirm. This is not refundable in the event of the guests' cancellation. The balance of the monies payable should be made a minimum of 6 weeks prior to departure or, for late booking, full payment at the time of booking.
A deposit of £200 would also be required to cover avoidable damage,loss or unneccesary expenses at the villa, if no such events arise, this is refunded in full on your return. All payments can be made in the UK.

The choice and quality of restaurants in Kalkan are renowned to be the best in this extensive area of Turkey. Sight seeing is both extensive and stunning.
