Stone cottage/villa set in the countryside of Turkey (semi rural). Rare opportunity to holiday in style to have a taste of the real Turkey and away from the hustle of the busier tourist resorts. With a brick built BBQ and large swimming come and enjoy our holiday home in the village of Ortakoy near Fethiye with lots to do in the surrounding areas or just relax! This property benefits from stone walls which keep cool in the hot summer months, a shaded terrace and plenty of sunbathing areas. You are surrounded by fields and backdrop mountains where the sunsets are fantastic to watch and the mountains turn red! The stars at night are also incredible and you can sit with your wine and watch the regular shooting stars! New for 2009- try a two centre (villa) holiday one week in the lovely countryside and another week in a more lively resort of Hisaronu in a very high standard of villa! For bookings made before 31st December 08 for next season (09) will be charged 2008 prices and only 20% deposit to secure the booking with the remainder 20% of the deposit to pay by 28th Feb 09. Full balance due 8 weeks before departure.
Airport transfers between £70 and £80 return journey depending on number of persons. Car hire from £20 per day.

No particular change over day, however, Monday's seem to be the popular flight days with airlines

This is a lovely property benefiting from home to home items and fully equipped. There is a good selection of CDs, DVDs, books and board games are kept in this property for the use of all our guests.

Environmental Project 2008:
If you are worried about your carbon footprint and want to help the environment we are turning some of our spare land around the property into an Orchard with a variety of trees such as Olive, Orange, Lemon, Fig, Pomegranate and Willow. If you would like to contribute by donating and planting your own tree we will tag the tree for you and send you yearly photos on progress Tree prices start at around £5.00. Please let me know if you are interested.
Coast/Beach
The cottage is based between the two best beaches in Turkey, Olu Deniz and Patara. Olu Deniz is a natural lagoon and takes 40 min in the car. Patara beach is a long sandy beach and again takes around 45 min to drive.
Special interest holidays
This is an ideal location for either just relaxing or taking in the stunning views or is a great base if you like to explore. We are a 20 min drive from Yakapark, with water falls, fresh trout and a great place to relax. 30 min drive will take you to Saklikent Gorge with fresh running water, and one of the largest gorges which you can walk through. Other historical places nearby. Swim with the Dophins in Kas.
Travel
The nearest airport is Dalaman and the distance is around 1hr 10 mins. We can arrange airport transfers and car hire. Please ask for a basic location map.
Distances
The cottage is in a village called Ortakoy it’s a small village with a couple of local convenience shops one serving tea and kebabs with a very helpful owner who will order you provisions if you wish and a few local tea rooms. There is also market held in the square every week selling fresh fruit and veg. Kemer is the nearest large town 6 miles away. Oren is found 2 miles from the cottage, Oren is famous for its Trout Farms and you can sit in the local restaurants and relax!
Further details
Nearby is the small hamlet of Kemer only a short drive away (10mins). Pine forests and countryside with a stunning mountain backdrop surround the area. The quaint town of Kemer is a traditional Turkish town having a town square with shops. Two main restaurants one in a picturesque, riverside setting, one elevated on the hillside overlooking the town both serving a variety of food, steak, chicken, pizza's, kebebs, fish etc, drinks including beer & spirits. Mini markets and local tavernas serving local food. There is a weekly market every Friday where local produce, clothes and souvenirs can be bought. Kemer offers the peaceful living of unspoilt Turkey with the added benefit of being within easy reach of many larger towns and attractions nearby. Other services in Kemer include 4 Pharmacies. Post Office. Doctor. Internet café. Hospital. Children’s play area. 1 Bank and ATM machine. Schools, Shops - jewellery, souvenirs, household goods, butchers, florists, general stores.
Fethiye 30 mins drive is a large and busy town, however it boosts a lovely harbour with great restaurants and cafe's where you sit and watch the world go by! Boats trips are plentiful with a good choice of quiet trips to party boats! There are some quaint shops and lanes in the old part of town. Fethiye has two large supermarkets, Migros and Carrafore. There is also the famous Tuesday Market! Fethiye is also famous for paragliding from Baba Mountain nearby. The parachutes land the Olü Deniz ( Dead Sea), the best beach of Turkey. The area is also famous for carved tombs in the mountain.
Olu Deniz is one of the most photographed resorts in Turkey and over the years has probably featured on more holiday brochure covers than anywhere else in the world. Wisely, when Turkish tourism was in its infancy the local authorities realised how precious this place was and made it a conservation area, forever protecting the stunning shoreline and village from over development.
Booking notes
A 40% deposit is required along with your completed booking form which is sent via email and Terms & Conditions. Balance payable 8 weeks before departure along with a refundable security deposit of £150.00. Any car hire and airport transfers would be payable in resort.
