The cottage has a rustic feel with thick stone walls and high wooden ceilings. Surrounded by fruit trees, mainly fig, pomegranate and quince the cottage has a laid back feel and is in a great position for walks into the village. There is a large pool with plenty of sunbathing space and shaded seating areas.

Changeover day
Monday is preferred as this is the main flying day into Dalaman. However this can be flexible.

Notes on accommodation
All rooms are air conditioned and the pool is shared with the owners who live nearby, who will happily act as your hosts if you should wish. The cottage is ideal for families as well as couples. Families can have use of the following; baby bath, bottle warmers, children's DVDs, toys, pool inflatables, cot with bedding plus nearby playmates (owners kids). Couples should enjoy the peace and quiet of the valley and the easy access into the village.

Outside
'The Fig Garden' is surrounded by a large garden with plenty of seating areas, use of a BBQ and a good size pool 5m x 8m. The pool is shared with the owners who live nearby. The cottage has its own private garden area with great views across the fields.
Coast/Beach
The local beach of Gemiler is a 10 mins drive and is a popular beach for the locals with wonderful views of the islands. The famous Blue Lagoon of Olu Deniz is also close by (10 mins drive) The beach in Olu Deniz is the most photographed beach in Turkey and is a conservation area and site of outstanding natural beauty.
Travel
Dalaman is the closest airport about 1 hours drive away (60km). Antalya can also be used but is further and will take 3 hours drive. Car Hire is not essential although a three day hire is recommended to be able to visit some of the amazing sights in the surrounding area. Transfers can be arranged at extra charge if required.
Distances
The village cente of Kaya is only 5 mins walk. The main harbour/market town of Fethiye is 10 mins drive (8km) which is a great for shopping and for food lovers. Hisaronu 3km inland, a hillside resort with plenty of bars and restaurants. Olu Deniz is the main beach area (6km) with a great selection of watersports, beachside cafes, bars and restaurants. Further afield but all within easy driving distance are; Saklikent Gorge and the river delta at Dalyan with its Lycian rock tombs.
Further details
Kaya Village has several local bars, many BBQ restaurants and a couple of wine houses. Walking is very popular here and is located on the famous Lycian way. A couple of local supermarkets sell all that you would need for your stay and there is a great local village cafe in the village square to sit with the locals and watch the world go by. Horse riding is popular in the valley and nearby are plenty of activities such as paragliding, microlighting and scuba diving.

A 25% deposit is required to secure the booking. The remainder to be paid 6 weeks prior to travel.

'Our stay at the Fig Garden was a magical experience from start to finish. You couldn't find more hospitable, friendly and delightful hosts than Vicky and Burçin and their family. They were always on hand to help when we needed it, but also gave us all the privacy we could want for a blissful holiday. Their knowledge of the area was unrivalled and they provided lots of great advice on trips out, shopping, beaches, the language, local customs and food. The house and pool were a joy and Kaya Koy and the Kaya Valley is stunningly beautiful. A visit to the Fig Garden is a glimpse of heaven.
We went for a holiday but came back feeling like we'd made some friends.'
