Ilica, a lovely quiet, peaceful, picturesque little village is being re-generated with many of the old houses being renovated back to there former state. A 'limited' number of holiday apartments are planned for the Ilica area, however Government orders forbids any tall overbearing apartment blocks to be erected. A number of children's play parks and picnic areas are also planned, some are already open. The area boasts many Roman ruins with the 'Antique City' of Side being the 'Jewel in the Crown'. In this region, you can enjoy the sun, over 300 days a year, swim, sail, mountain climb and yes! It is true. You can at times ski in the morning and sunbathe on the beach in the afternoon. All this and what else? Turkey's first 18 hole 'International' Links golf course is being completed in time for the 2008 season, just 10 minutes by car from Dreamhill Apartments. A state of the art complex with a professional 18 hole course, and a smaller equally excellent 9 hole course.

Notes on accommodation
Although there is no broadband connection installed in the apartments yet, I have found out that there are a number of computers using wireless connection in the village. I stayed for a month last October, and had an internet connection for the month except for a few days. I could phone home to local landlines in Ireland for less than two euro cents per minute using Skype on the internet. Mobiles can also be called, but you pay the normal mobile rate.
Accessibility
I have to say that the apartment is not mobility friendly, in as much as you have to go up 2 lots of stairways to get to it. Anyone with a mobility problem should be aware of this.
Outside
The swimming pool is about 14x7m with views looking out towards the Mediterranean, which lies about two miles distant. Although unheated, the pool is a delight to swim in, as the water temperature for the most part remains constant. The apartment has its own deckchairs, but deckchairs and umbrellas are available at the poolside. The pool is shared with 8 other apartments, but I have never seen it overcrowded at any time.
Coast/Beach
There are many coastal resorts in the area of Ilica. Antique Side with it's long sandy beach and little harbour lies eight kilometres from Dreamhill. Kumkoy, a very busy holiday village is about 5km from the apartment and can be seen from the apartment balcony. Colakli, six kilometre up the coast is well known for its water sports. Other beaches are located closeby, all along this coastline; you are simply spoilt for choice.
Golf
A new event! - a new International 'Links' golf course is about to open early 2008, about 7km from the apartment. It is the first 'Links' course to open on the Mediterranean coast and is also the first golf course of its kind in all of Turkey. Overlooking the sea from all points, the project has been constructed around the area of Gundogdu, which is around 19km from the ancient city of Side. From Dreamhill it is a 5 - 10 minute journey by car, by dolmus, a little longer, but will be well worth the effort. The jewel in the crown is the18 hole 'Championship' course, a 72 par course over a distance of 6527m. Complimenting this splendid 'Championship' course, is an equally impressive nine hole 'Academy' course 1254m long, and a par 27. Designed by the celebrated golf architect Perry Dye, together with his father, who has designed over 300 golf courses worldwide.
Skiing
Yes! believe or not, with all the hot weather and sun you get here, it is still possible to Ski at certain times of the year. There are ski slopes a short distance from Antalya, 40 mins drive from Dreamhill Apartments. It is possible for you to ski, swim in the Med and lie out in the sun, all in the space of an hour!
Travel
The main airport at the moment is situated at Antalya, this is about a 45 minute drive from Dreamhill. There is another airport almost finished just outside the city of Alanya, also a 45 mins drive, Antalya is north of Dreamhill and Alanya is to the south. You can hire a car in Side at a fairly reasonable rate. Be careful driving, but do not be put off. The main mode of transport is the dolmus a taxi like bus which does short runs. Handy enough but no good for long journeys.
Distances
Antalya and Alanya 70km. Manavgat City 8km. Side 9km. Perge 24km. Kumkoy 2-3km. Belek 30km. Gundogdun for golf 5km.
Further details
There are a number of small village shops in and around the area of Ilica which would satisfy most of your daily requirements.
The bigger superstores are not that far away in Manavgat and Side where can also find banks, restaurants etc. Most small shops open pretty late as do the petrol stations. In the most of the petrol stations, you can also purchase groceries, sweets, general household products and alcohol. You should never really be short of anything at any time
Booking notes
One third deposit. The remaining amount to be paid 4 weeks prior to travel.
House swap
House swap considered anywhere in Europe (that includes 'Bonny Scotland') and possibly a little further afield.
