Sleeps 4/6 (2 Bedrooms)

|
Arguably just about the best positioned apartment on site. It is situated on the first floor with a large balcony giving views of the sea, pool and the one thing Yalikavak is renowned for, its sunsets. It is very much a traditional working town and only a short walk to the shops, restaurants, harbour and new marina. It has a Blue Flag award and has been dubbed the St Tropez of the Bodrum Peninsula and it is not difficult to see why. The apartment was new in 2007 and comes complete with all the comforts of home for 6 people, including air conditioning and mosquito netting in all rooms. For those who are a little more adventurous there is the water world just 10 minutes by local bus which is en-route to Bodrum with its large marina which offer boat trips to the island of Kos. For those interested in history, Turkey is home to two of the seven Wonders of the World. The Amphitheatre and Mausoleum are close by and Ephesus can be reached in a day. The mud baths at Dalyan are worth a visit.

'Thank you for letting me stay in your lovely apartment for a third time. It was spotlessly clean and very welcoming as usual. We always enjoy sitting on your lovely balcony and relaxing - maybe with a glass of cold wine!
'We had an excellent time and want to jump back on a plane and go back. We will go back next year'
'We met wonderful people on the complex and made many new friends in the area'
"Our children loved the large pool and we could watch them from the bar or our balcony. Everyone on site was so friendly and very helpful. This site is good for people of all ages"
I am in my twenties and went with 4 friends. We had a very good time in town at one of the 2 Karaoke bars tucked away in the side street and enjoyed trying a different restaurant every night. The quality of food is excellent and very reasonable"
Owner profile
About the owner
Peter and I are of "mature" years and fell in love with our apartment in Alexander Hills in 2006. The position is probably the best on site with views over the sea and the pool. We frequent the restaurants in the village and have become like long lost friends each time we return. We also like to have a drink at Bar 9 where Murat welcomes us back each year.
We let our apartment as it helps to pay the expenses but I always speak to each guest from the start and try to build a good relationship with them. We keep a good standard in the apartment and hope others will look after it during their stay. Our cleaner, Elaine, always pops in to see if our guests have eveything they need and give them any helpful advice. She will always provide your own personal welcome pack for a small charge.
Year purchased: 2006
Why the owner chose an apartment in this location
We bought this property because it appeared very light and airy with a good sized balcony which gave us views over the sea, the pool and of course, the beautiful sunsets. The site is spacious with a really large pool and the bar/cafe provides a very friendly atmosphere where you can meet other guests for a drink.
Yalikavak is essentially a working village with a whole range of traditional and modern restaurants. The new Marina is a good place for a walk and this too offers bars and restaurants. The Thursday market is not to be missed and is especially good for fruit and vegetables. It also offers a wide range of clothing as well as goodies such as Turkish Delight, nuts and spices. There is a good bustling atmosphere by the harbour and the cafe owners are friendly but not pushy.
Unique benefits of the property
Firstly, peace and relaxation! Also chatting to other guests, many of whom we often see each year we visit. Our guests say that everyone is so friendly on site and it is like one big happy family. They often remark that their children have formed great friendships and some have made arrangements to meet them the following year. The bar is a greet place to gather especailly at late afternoon when parents can have a drink and still keep an eye on their children in the pool which is only 2 metres away!
During the high season there will be quizzes and BBQ's for anyone who wants to join in. The site office can arrange for trips to various places of interest. We went to the island of Kos one year which is only 40 mins away by hydrofoil and makes a really good day out.
We go back every year!
