Coast/Beach
Short walk to Long Beach which is a beautiful sandy beach and is several miles long. Cafes and restaurants and plenty of water sports. Sunbeds etc. to hire. Other local beaches can be easily accessed using the local dolmus.
Travel
Izmir airport is approximately 1 hour's drive away. Bodrum airport is 1.5 hour's drive. Car hire is available from the airports or local towns but not necessary as the public transport system is extremely reliable, inexpensive and frequent. Airport transfers can easily be arranged through us if required.
Distances
The centre of Kusadasi is 8 kms away. Originally started off as a small fishing village that has grown and developed into one of Turkey's liveliest and most cosmopolitan resorts. Hosts a multitude of shops, large bazaar, large harbour and international restaurants and great nightlife. There are also 2 excellent water parks on the outskirts of town which are easily accessible by the dolmus transport system, which is both frequent and cheap.
Further details
With beautiful sandy beaches, breathtaking scenery and historical sights around every corner there is always plenty to keep anyone occupied in this area of Turkey. The ancient city of Ephesus is situated not far from Kusadasi and is well worth exploring. The house of the virgin Mary, where her final years were said to have been spent after the crucifixion. Other days out include one to Dalyan and the famous mud baths, the market at Soke, one of the finest in Turkey (don't forget to barter the price down), or a lazy day cruise around the sparkling coastline, stopping off at several locations for a dip in the clear Agean waters and normally followed by a BBQ. Local travel agents are only to happy to provide you with several exciting days out these can include:- Turkish bath, jeep safari, quad biking, horse riding, trips to the Greek island of Samos and of course the traditional Turkish night comprising of local food and entertainment including the famous belly dancers. Most agents will throw one trip in for free if several are purchased together. Agents and prices can vary so do shop around. One of the most not to be missed experiences for the men is the traditional shave with a cut throat razor. This also includes a small massage and an ear singe! very relaxing. For the ladies Turksih hair salons and beauty parlours are well worth experiencing, also relaxing and a reasonable price. Turkish jewellry and leather goods are something else and are not to be missed. There are plenty of change offices, most do not charge interest, but check before using. There are an abundance of "hole in the wall" machines throughout the centre of Kusadasi. You will be able to pay for goods in pounds, Turkish lire or euros. All major credit cards are accepted. The 2 weekly markets in Kusadasi are held on Wednesday for clothing and Friday for food. The local Turkish cusine is second to none and if you find a lokanta serving Turkish food you can eat like a king for very little money.
