Bes Yildiz is a stylish two bedroom, two bathroom duplex apartment, for the more discerning client, with spiral staircase to mezzanine floor. Kalkan is nestled at the foot of the Taurus mountains, with a network of cobbled streets heading to the harbour with many rooftop restaurants and boutiques selling everything from Kilims to Glassware. Our apartment is situated in an idyllic elevated position with stunning views of the mountains and overlooking beautiful Kalamar Bay. Furnished to an extremly high standard, fully air-conditioned and equipped with everything you should need for a perfect holiday. Yelken is a small and friendly complex (19 apartments) with communal areas maintained daily. Patios and gardens for you to sunbathe, dine alfresco etc. A quiet location but just 15 minutes walk into the small harbour town of Kalkan. Archeological ruins, white water rafting, diving and world heritage sites all within easy reach by dolmus or car as are the sandy beaches of Kaputas and Patara.

Notes on accommodation
Air-conditioning in all rooms. A mobile phone is also available with the apartment for local calls. DVD player. Hairdryer and hair straighteners included. Welcome pack available on arrival. Please Note: Main bedroom is on the ground floor and twin bedroom on the mezzanine accessed by spiral staircase and therefore, may not be suitable for small children.

Balcony overlooks beautiful garden area and views of Kalamar Bay with tables and chairs. Large shared pool (75sq.m) with jacuzzi and small children's pool. Large paved patio area. Sun beds and parasols and barbeque for guests use. Shaded area with tables and chairs to escape the sun and with communal fridge around pool area. Shower and toilet facilities. Daily cleaning and maintenance of communal areas. Smoking only on the balcony please.

Coast/Beach
15 minutes walk to town beach, (pebbled). 20 minutes drive (taxi or dolmus) to Patara (world heritage beach) or 15 minutes drive to Kaputas beach. Access to beach clubs providing water sports, diving, snorkelling etc. With free pick-up and delivery from apartment (approx 5 mins drive).

Special interest holidays
Special archeological sites, boat trips, dive school, mountain tours, white water rafting, paragliding, jeep safari, cooking school all available locally or within easy reach.

Travel
Dalaman airport approximately 2 hours. Transfers can be arranged - price on application.

Distances
Lots of places of interest to visit; Saklikent, Tlos, Ephesus, Pammukale etc. Dolmus to Fethiye, Kas etc.

Further details
Kalkan has around 200 rooftop restaurants. You will never be able to visit them all! Lots of different styles and prices. There are several supermarkets, banks etc. Kalkan market on Thursdays.

Booking notes
Non-returnable deposit of £100 on booking. Balance payable 6 weeks before departure. Refundable security deposit of £100 payable with balance payment (to cover breakages, etc - this will be refunded immediately on your return, after clearance from our local agent).

Accommodation and location were perfect. All the local people we met were very friendly and helpful. Sampled some excellent food and the local wine was surprisingly good. Taxi drivers were all helpful and very inexpensive. We really enjoyed our holiday in Kalkan. The apartment at the Yelken was in a great location and was very smartly furnished. We really appreciated the welcome goodies. The pool area was very clean and well maintained. Everyone at the Yelken was friendly. Our friends recommended the Yelken to us and we will certainly recommend it after such a wonderful holiday.

About the owner
Our names are Claire and Martin. We have owned Yelken B4 since 2005 following previous considerations in Spain and France. So glad we chose Turkey! We enjoy eating out in the local Kalkan restaurants but also venturing further afield to enjoy the culture, diversity and the wealth of difference within such a small region. Since buying our apartment five years ago we have embraced the Turkish culture and now have many local friends.

Why the owner chose an apartment in this location
Went on holiday in September 2005 having previously been to Europe for many years. Sitting on the plane we said 'if we don't like it we will make the best of it!' went back in December 2005 and bought! Kalkan is the most fantastic place! We have now so many friends and always look forward to the next visit.

Unique benefits of the property
Beautiful views, very quiet owner occupied complex, on site security and daily cleaning. The apartment offers peace and relaxation with the benefit of having small supermarkets and Cafes within walking distance, but with a wealth of Kalkan restaurants within easy reach.
